Wasn't horry also the bench hero in Games 1 & 2 for the Spurs?

Horry for Finals MVP~

Man, Horry saved Duncan's ass last night. I prefer to see the guy who works hard all the time get the recognition... but you can't question Horry's ability in pressure situations. HOF, no doubt.

I think Pop outcoached Brown. Going to Horry IS obvious but it was the right move and it was drawn up well. Plus using his TO's to narrow Detroit's options...

Duncan needs a big Game 6 to show his heart isn't questionable.

Damn, I got to watch the first 4 games and didn't even bother with the 4th quarters, there's finally a Finals worthy game and I wasn't around to see it

So, do the Spurs close it out in 6? That's a heartbreaker for Detroit

I called Spurs in 6, but I had no idea only one of the games would be close. This has been a really odd series indeed, but it'd be nice to have two more games like this last one.

I think if the series were to go 7 and games 6 & 7 resemble game 5, it would help save face to how this series is being percieved by the public a little.

Absolutely. Billups was killing Parker all night so Pop switched Bowen to Billups and put Parker on Rip. Not once did they go to Rip down the stretch. Instead Billups was forcing shot after shot. I like Billups, and he was hot early/midway through the 4th, but whomever Parker is guarding between Rip and Billups should be posting Parker's little ass up ALL NIGHT. Terrible coaching by Brown.

Rip played like shit, so of course they werent going to give him the ball down the stretch...did you see the last shot that he took

If I'm remembering correctly it was a rushed shot with the shot clock expiring and a hand (or two) in his face. Your point?

Mine is simple: In basketball in general, and in the NBA in particular, you MUST take advantage of mis-matches whenever possible. Brown did not do so. Detroit lost.

This series should be over. Horry the other night reminded me of Derek Fisher against (irony) the Spurs last year. It wasn't quite as dramatic but it's one of those crushing losses that I don't think most teams can recover from. The Spurs have 2 games now at home and need 1 win. They'd have to be total bitches not to win this series.

Pretty entertaining first half. I missed the first 4 games since I didn't give a shit about the series and it turned out to suck just as I predicted (first Finals I've missed since I believe 1992, when I didn't watch regularly). Then, after seeing the end of Game 5, there was no way I could miss this, and things have been exciting so far.

Even though I hate the Pistons, I hope they push the series to 7 games before San Antonio wins. I don't particularly care for the Spurs, either, but I've been a Tim Duncan fan since he was at Wake Forest.

^ since you dont seem to care, why should this "just end already"? Game 5 and this one have been GREAT games (with 5 being a classic). ALthough the last 25 seconds seem like it could be a FT fest.

Bring on Game 7

This is turning out to be the first 7-game NBA Finals series since 1994, when the Rockets were down 3-2 to the Knicks... but they came back and won game 6 and 7 at New York... hmmm, deja vu.

Not much to add. We are going to game 7. You don't get much better than that. While this series won't go down in history as great (unless Game 7 is an absolute barn burner or helluva story) I am glad it happened. We get Game 7 in the Finals and the Labor Negotiating is over.

Just a good day to be an NBA fan.

Of course now I have to remember to tape game 7, since the Spurs couldn't get it done on my night off.

Rasheed Wallace bringing the belt to his interviews... This guy is officially out of his mind.

I love Sheed.

And people say there isn't a marketable personality in this series. Sheed is easily one of the most entertaining personalities in basketball.
