Was just wondering guys, out of the current crop of wrestlers, who, in your opinion has never been the big champion of a brand or company but should be?

Do you think that this wrestler will ever make it? Why does he deserve it? Why will he make it/wont make it?

DISCUSS.

Rey Mysterio.

I'd love Christopher Daniels to win the NWA title.

Discounting his ECW World Title reign, I would say Mike Awesome.

The guy has a great look, is talented, and can easily get over with any crowd. He was wasted in WCW though, and crappily booked in WWF for stupid reasons. Maybe his performance at ECW One Night Stand will make WWE take another look at him.

Rey Mysterio has the talent and the popularity, and he's passable on the mic, but he will almost guaranteed never be the world champ because he's so small. London might be in this predicament soon too, I'm not sure he's over enough with the marks. Charlie Haas could be someone the company could build upon, I think, if they either reunited him with Shelton, or at least got him away from Hardcore. I must admit, Holly is crazy over, but he just isn't a good mix with Haas' style. Haas could be their new Angle, except he's younger and doesn't have a neck that could give out at any second.

WWE --> Haas, Mysterio.

ROH --> Jimmy Rave, AJ Styles. (would of been Punk, until DBD 3)

TNA --> Chris Sabin, Christopher Daniels, Michael Shane. (would of been just Raven, until Slammiversary)

WCW --> Alex Wright, Brian Pillman.

WWF --> Mr. Perfect, Rick Rude.

I don't even see size as any reason to not give Rey the belt for at least a few months as crazy over as he is and pretty much always has been...I've mentioned it ad naseum, but I think they could pull some decent buyrates in with that guy as champ for no more than 6 months...of course now that Angle and Cena have moved to Raw, that may no longer be the case...

WWE ---> Mysterio, RVD, Christian

TNA ----> Daniels eventually

ROH ---> American Dragon

past

WCW ---> Lance Storm

WWF ---> Ted DiBiase, Mr. Perfect

how the hell do YOU have access to ROH stuff and I don't?  the net?  tape trading?

Time Warner baby!

just kidding. the net, I just DL shows whenever i can. I don't watch that much of it. I usually a few months behind on actually seeing the shows.

Rick Rude, WCW or WWF, he should have had the top strap in either one of them.

Top 10-

Curt Hennig (WWF)

Owen Hart (WWF)

Roddy Piper (WWF)

Ted DiBiase (WWF, NWA)

Goldust (WWE, WCW)

Rick Rude (WWF, WCW)

RVD (WWE, ECW)

Lance Storm (WCW)

Christian (WWE)

Arn Anderson (WCW, NWA)-Edge (WWE) tie

Rick Rude held the NWA World Title WCW International World Heavyweight Title.

Shelton and Haas are nowhere near ready to "deserve to be a World Champion", IMO.

Goldust? LOL.

Owen was never ready to be the top guy.

Christian is not ready.

Arn Anderson as World Champion?

Mr. Perfect was never a true main eventer, much less a serious World Title contender.

******

The question was who DESERVES (or deserved). not "who would it have been cool to see carry the strap" ?

RVD - Hands-Down the most over guy in WWE during the Invasion, and he was supposed to be a heel. Above-average on the mic, and can bump like a madman. Myself, and 99% of the WWE fans love this guy. A 3-4 month title reign, just as an experiement would be great.

I think with the right push, and if properly booked, Val Venis could become a strong main-eventer. Just drop the silly pornstar gimmick, and let him go by his real name. Just book him better than he was in 2003. He can wrestle very well, and can put on a good match with just about anyone.

I keep seeing Rick Rude's name a lot, wasn't he the "WCW International (2nd Rate, Finally Got our other belt back) World Champion" back in 1994???

Does that count? Anyhow how about Scott Hall in late '94-'95 in WWF, was over a lot in my opinion. And also Ted DiBiase

Mr. Perfect clearly deserved to hold the belt in the early 90's.
