OPS+ is OPS, adjusted to the league average and for the player's home park. An OPS+ of 100 would be league average, an OPS+ of 110 is 10% better than league average, and so on. ERA+ is the same concept as OPS+, except with earned run average. WARP2 is also seen as WARP3. I believe the numbers designate the version of the statistic, but I could be wrong. It is short for Wins Above Replacement Level. It essentially seeks to measure a player's contributions above the level of a substitute player. Should I pick a second fav team? Seriously though, this brutal road trip continues. Well ESPN is showing the game tonight though Brown is pitching. And since the los angles angels of eastern anaheim on the pacific ocean is up next , I know the local channels will show all of the games. Milwaukee has looked pretty good lately...before the AS break the won a roadtrip through Florida and Atlanta and after the break they won 3 of 4 against the Nationals. Don't write off the Orioles just yet. The people that Baltimore's getting off the DL are better than all the mercenaries the Yankees and Red Sox can find to take their dirty money. iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2005 Well they took Bedard out a little early, (he did just come off the DL after all), and the Twins got a little bit of a rally going, but the Orioles just turned a picture perfect double play to get out of the eighth. They should be all set now. And we all know that the Red Sox and Yankees money is dirty because they have too damn much of it. 'Course, the Sox can't hit for shit against lefty starters (big shock) and Manny would rather check out the inside of the Monster than get in position to play, so they aren't the only ones with problems. Honestly, the AL East is wide open and will remain so for the rest of the season, I think. The Yankees just have far too many glaring holes to fix with nothing great to fix them with, the Red Sox seem to be on Cruise Control again (though Schilling's looking good). If the O's land Burnett, they've got as good a shot as any. Hey, even Toronto does when Halliday comes back. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Toronto and Baltimore fighting it out for first with the Yankees and Red Sox close behind and fighting Minnesota for the WC come late-August. 90 wins might be enough for the division this year.
