Smurfs TV Question

This is something I've asked various people throughout time but nobody seems to truly know so I thought I may as well ask it here, promote some discusion and put an end to my curiosity at the same time.

This is my recollection of the show which may be totally wrong.

At the beginning there were no kid smurfs and everybody was grown up smurfs 3 apples tall if you will. Than one smurfy day 3 smurfs smurfed their way somewhere and got caught in some kind of machine which turned them into kid smurfs never to be turned back again. I think this stuck with me because often with a lot of shows back in the day changes that occured within them would often be fixed in the course of an ep but of course this didn't as the 3 kid smurfs never did turn back to aldut smurfs.

Can anyone confirm this or have I gone completely smurfy here?

This has been bugging me for years so if anyone can answer it please do. Thanks.

I kinda thought the 3 kid Smurfs just showed up...new season, new characters completely out of the blue with no back story, a la GI Joe and Transformers...I didn't know the 3 were victims of circumstance, I thought they were just there all of a sudden...

I thought she was magically created by Gargamel, which would make the question of "Where do baby Smurfs come from?" even more a mystery.

If Gargamel made smurfette then why could'nt he make more to turn into gold or eat?

Gargamel didn't make Smurfette. He made that other girl smurf that joined the show a few seasons later. I forget her name. I think she had dark hair. Or was that Smurfette and she dyed her hair? I forget the crazy storylines that show had.

When Gargamel made Smurfette she was evil and had the dark hair but later on in the same episode Papa Smurf used his magic making her a normal smurf but it had one side effect........it made her blond. Near the end of the series several new smurfs were added to the show to add the cute factor one of them was a lil girl redhead with pigtails. But nobody seems to know the orgin story of Grand Pa, Wild, or the children smurfs.

"We gotta find ourselves a Smurfette."

"Smurfette?"

"Yeah, not some tight-ass Middlesex chick, right? Like this cute little blonde that will get down and dirty with the guys. Like Smurfette does."

"Smurfette doesn't fuck."

"That's bullshit. Smurfette fucks all the other Smurfs. Why do you think Papa Smurf made her? Because all the other Smurfs were getting too horny."

"No, no, no, not Vanity. I heard he was a homosexual."

"Okay, then, you know what? She fucks them and Vanity watches. Okay?"

"What about Papa Smurf? I mean, he must get in on all the action."

"Yeah, what he does, he films the gang-bang, and he beats off to the tape."

"First of all, Papa Smurf didn't create Smurfette. Gargamel did. She was sent in as Gargamel's evil spy with the intention of destroying the Smurf village. But the overwhelming goodness of the Smurf way of life transformed her. And as for the whole gang-bang scenario, well, it just couldn't happen. Smurfs are asexual. They don't even have... reproductive organs under those tiny, white pants. It's just so illogical, about being a Smurf, you know? I mean, what's the point of living... if you don't have a dick?"

I plugged the quote into Google and apparently it's from Donnie Darko, which I've never seen (hell, I didn't even know it existed before coming to TSM)

Well it was either use that quote or the one from Family Guy where they use "smurf" as a substitute for "fuck".

"As soon as we got out of the bar, she started smurfing me."

"Shut the smurf up! Right in the smurfing parking lot?"

"Smurf yeah!"

The Smurflings were introduced in the mid-1980s:

3 young boys (Slouchy, Snappy, and Nat). Originally, those kids were normal Smurfs from the village, but one day, they went inside a wizard's house under a request by Papa Smurf and then accidentally entered inside a magical grandfather clock. The clock, by a time spell, turned the three Smurfs into children.

Sassette, a young girl Smurf. She is a redhead with braided hair and wears pink overalls. She was originally magically created like the Smurfette, but by the three kid Smurfs instead of by Gargamel. The three kid Smurfs felt sorry for Smurfette who was lonely as being the sole female in the village, so they broke into Gargamel's mansion and stole the magical recipe book that provided the origin of Smurfette's creation. They then created Sassette from it.

Grandpa Smurf and Grandma Smurf. Grandpa Smurf, an older version of Papa Smurf, was introduced several years later and was soon followed with a female counterpart. Grandma and Grandpa are original to the animated series and do not appear in the original comics (except in the comic strips in the French "Schtroumpf" magazine).

Clockwork Smurf, a wooden robot built by Handy Smurf. It is difficult to tell if Clockwork Smurf should count as part of the Smurf population, but considering that he shows real personality and feeling, it seems as if he could.

Yes, I was right! Thank you for that information.

That's how I remember it.

Anybody here from the Dayton/Cincinnati area and go to King's Island in the early 80's. Remmember the Smurf ride? That ride was trippy (Imagine a ride similar to A Small World Afterall, but with Smurfs and slightly less annoying).

sorry, I can't not picture it as a Small World-type ride version of the Papa Smurf Can I Lick Your Ass cartoon

I think I remember riding it. I couldn't tell you any specifics about it, though.

Smurfs...they were all about drug abuse.  A bunch of little blue men living in MUSHROOMS that only a CHEMIST could see.

Actually, I've heard that the Smurfs were a communist vehicle to help brainwash American kids during the eighties.

You've got Papa Smurf, who is the only smurf to wear red and sports a beard like Marx or Lenin.

The Smurfs all share food and live in a commune-like environment. Gargamel is the evil capatilist who, at first, wants to turn the Smurfs into gold. Greedy guy.

There are a bunch of websites dedicated to this theory, but I'm pretty sure if you sat there and thought about it, you could draw parallels with the Smurfs and anything related to evil.
