UZI Suicide Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 While the Rey Mysterio/Eddie Guerrero custody saga might come off as a run-of-the-mill soap opera storyline to the many WWE viewers, to one person, the pain and anguish expressed by the performers is all too real. According to PWTorch.com, young Dominick is currently suffering from emotional distress related to the angle. While he's obviously heavily briefed as to its fiction, sources indicate that between witnessing his father cry, Eddie Guerrero portray a heartless villain and thousands of live fans sell the angle as legitimate, it would be impossible for someone in Dominick's position not to experience some sort of trauma. The custody battle, which is the latest development in an ongoing feud between Guerrero and Mysterio, will lead to another match between the two at Summerslam. The backstage reaction to the on-air performances has been overwhelmingly positive, a reaction that goes hand-in-hand with the fact that the segments continue to draw very well for WWE SmackDown. Ah, suck it up kid.
Downhome Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 I've said it before, I'll say it again, it can't be said enough: *takes a big shit all over this angle*
claydude14 Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 So now... Rey wins again at Summerslam?
CanadianChick Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 Nah, the kid's mentally fucked up anyways...make him go home with Eddie and actually live with him to "keep kayfabe".
Richard Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 He should be thankful he's not the son of some loser like Billy Gunn.

Just John Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 Like I said, Rey should never be allowed to write again. I can't believe he thought this was a good idea.
Slickster Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 Well, I'm guessing that Rey felt that being able to show off some semblance of character depth would be good for both himself and Eddie. While I wouldn't have had Rey beat Eddie in both of their prior matchups, I'd rather have Rey and Eddie get a chance to do a 'serious' storyline than to be saddled with midcard-level angles. I mean, you can only have Rey and Eddie do 'respect' feuds and 'one partner double-crosses the other' angles for so long before it gets a little repetitive.
MillenniumMan831 Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 Eh, Rey buys Dominick a new PSP game and all is forgiven and forgotten. *Waves goodbye*
cabbageboy Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 I actually wondered if something like this would happen. I mean now for the rest of his life people are going to tease Dominic about this whole thing and think Eddie is his real dad. I wonder if Rey thought about all this stuff and the long term repercussions it would have?
Masked Man of Mystery Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 Sorta makes you wonder about Sandman's son, doesn't it?
Fökai Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 I wonder if Rey thought about all this stuff and the long term repercussions it would have? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Youth N Asia Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 Vince likes to exploit people's personal problems...so hell, Eddie will win the match and Mcmahon will make him follow up on the stipulation.
cabbageboy Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 Well in this case it doesn't seem like it's just Vince. It was Rey who apparently thought up this angle and wanted his son involved. Am I the only one who thinks it's a mistake to let Rey reveal his personality in an angle? Think about it, when he's at his most over it's usually when he's just getting in and wrestling. Bischoff also had the idea of taking his mask off to make him more marketable, but that resulted in Rey's most irritating work ever (No Limit anyone?). Now he's showing more personality but also accidentally coming off like a dick, he's become the live action Roadrunner to Eddie's Coyote. His whole spiel making fun of Eddie for not beating him only makes me want to side with Eddie in the end.
MillenniumMan831 Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 I really think Eddie should have been the one to issue the challenge w/ Rey reluctantly accepting. Not Rey all too eager to get Eddie in the ring at the potential expense of his son.
SuperJerk Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 While he's obviously heavily briefed as to its fiction, sources indicate that between witnessing his father cry, Eddie Guerrero portray a heartless villain and thousands of live fans sell the angle as legitimate, it would be impossible for someone in Dominick's position not to experience some sort of trauma. This article is based purely on speculation. The "sources" aren't saying anything definitive, they are saying something is "possible".
Fartsauce Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 At least Rob Feinstein isn't booking the angle

Even during the beggining stages of the feud Rey was getting boos for trying to shut Eddy up regarding the secret.
PLAGIARISM! Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 The angle is totally unnecessary for two guys who can work and have wrestled eachother forever. I always do wonder what the kids feel like in these situations.
DrVenkman PhD Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 WWE.com confirmed the rumour that SummerSlam would be a ladder match.
Jericho2000Mark Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 Wow, if those segments are drawing "very well" and SmackDown's ratings are still dipping below 3.0, imagine how badly Batista & Bradshaw's segments are doing?
Celtic Guardian Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 WWE.com confirmed the rumour that SummerSlam would be a ladder match. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ...with custody papers hanging from the ceiling too. (preview.)

BruiserKC Posted August 15, 2005 Report Posted August 15, 2005 It somehow wouldn't surprise me, Vince being Vince...to have actually considered putting Dominic himself at the top of the ladder. Could be the most riveting match of its kind since Colonel DeBeers battled Jake "The Milkman" Milliman in a turkey-on-a-pole match in the dying days of the AWA. Then again...it could royally suck ass.
Guest netslob Posted August 15, 2005 Report Posted August 15, 2005 At least Rob Feinstein isn't booking the angle <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ba-zing!
DrVenkman PhD Posted August 15, 2005 Report Posted August 15, 2005 Can someone explain to me why papers hanging from the rafters are more offensive than rape, terrorists, or wishing your oppoenent dies in a car accident? Dave Scherer sounds really pissed. At least Meltzer just called it "absurd".
