Anyone know if there's a reason they are keeping Raven off TV. I know he's horribly out of shape but he hasn't been on Impact since the KOTM qualifying matches.

Is there a story to this? I last consistently watched wrestling approximately when the WWE ran the Invasion angle, and was a huge Raven fan. Having watched TNA for the last 6 weeks or so, I'm shocked at how his physique has changed since his WWE days. Anyone know why/how he let it go so badly?

apparantly, his thyroid is all fucked up from years of drug abuse, so it's harder from him to lose weight. that's what i hear anyway.

Well, he's cleaned up from the drugs and has a thyroid issue, but I don't know if those would factor in. Plus, the poor guy's almost 40 and he never was in the best of shape

Thanks for the replies. Yeah, a thyroid issue can definitely make you gain a lot of weight. The hormones it spits out pretty much control a great deal of your metabolism. Guess my hopes of seeing Raven get on the Atkins' diet and make one more run at the title are pretty far-fetched then!

The Torch is reporting that Raw will air on a two hour delay on Aug. 28 and Sept. 4, when USA will air coverage of U.S. Open tennis. Considering the rumors that Spike wants to increase TNA's presence, what are the odds TNA airs live on one on of those Mondays?

AM Raw did a 1.0 cable rating, with a 4.7 share.

This weeks edition of TNA Impact drew a 0.8 rating.

Let's see TNA try to find anything good about this. A show that's on at 2 am beat Impact.

That Sirelda is really making me not like Daniels and Styles.

Indeed. She's sort of a weird cross between Chyna and Medusa, neither a wrestler I cared much for.

This is not the first time AM beat Impact in the ratings. This is like the 5th time actually. They also tied with TNA a couple of times. I think WWE have a built in audience they been building for over 50 years to TNA's 4. Plus, AM is actually a good show. It's Raw without the crap.

I would never have thought that in 2006 that Kevin Nash would be the highlight of a national wrestling promotion, but here we are. These Nash/Shelley segments would have to be my favorite things TNA has ever done.

This program hasn't done much for Sabin, but damn if it isn't making a star out of Shelley. For that alone, Nash deserves a lot of credit IMO.

From PWI:

When TNA Wrestling moves to the Jamil Shrine Temple on August 11 in Columbia, SC, the main event will feature NWA Heavyweight Champion Jeff Jarrett facing off with Samoa Joe.

Could this be a BFG preview? Unless this is non-title, they can't possibly deliver a finish here. Jarrett can't beat Joe, especially not on a house show, and Joe can't win the title before the big show. Should be interesting....

They have Monty and Steiner and Rhino, any of them could run in and cause a DQ.

Not a DQ, but just a no contest. I'm sure the whole DQing = termination of championship is still in effect even though no one talks about it anymore, just because we haven't seen the champ lose by DQ yet since the last time titles switched that way.

I just finished watching the Double Elimination 4-Way match to crown the first ever X-Division champ and outside of the ringwork, two things stood out to me. The first is that TNA felt more important and bigger than it does now, despite me knowing that TNA was pretty much nothing back then. I think it's because I couldn't see the entire extent of the crowd. Also, Don West tends to get a lot of shit, but listening to him back then and watching the replay now, it's just incredible how much Don West has improved, sounding more competant and less like a really excited mark.

The champ could WIN by DQ, instead of losing.

The deal with Sen Shi and TNA is that TNA are trying to change the deal they made when Sen Shi returned. TNA are wanting to put the top guys on a weekly salary instead of a per show deal, and in return they'll handle their guys Indy bookings. Sen Shi is against this because he's always handled his own bookings plus there are some promoters he doesn't want to work for.

Found this at gerweck.net;

Matt Bentley and Frankie Karazian will be losing for the next two months. Not only will they be losing but will be completely buried. This is done as a means of punishment. Karazian was held from TNA because he left for WWE, and Bentley still has heat for the Hermie Sadler Incident.

- Team 3D and TNA are currently in contract negotiations. While Team 3D does have fourteen months left on their contracts, the final twelve months is an option year for the tag team to decide. Basically, they have to agree to roll over their deals themselves unlike the talent who have no choice. If they opt to not roll over, they would become free agents.

Let's hope Team 3D has to take Spike with them if they don't pick up their option. TNA has only 4 hours of lead-in for each PPV and they insist on wasting air-time with that hack...
