MillenniumMan831 Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 Another gem of an episode last night. "You're gonna get beat up, but don't worry . . . I got your back."
bob_barron Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 Poor Pam. Kevin was hilarious last night and I loved the Indian girl asking Jan about second base.
DrVenkman PhD Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 Another winner. This show is so good.
starvenger Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 Poor Pam. Kevin was hilarious last night and I loved the Indian girl asking Jan about second base. Kelly, the Chatterbox. Who was also the girl Paul Rudd obsessed over in The 40-Year Old Virgin.
treble Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 'Do black people like pizza?' *cut to a shot of him watching the black guys eating pizza and enjoying it* And Michael destroying the warehouse with the forklift was hilarious.
The Electrifyer Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 I loved when Dwight mentioned Lost when he went down the warehouse and said "Remember the time in Lost where they met the others?". I know he wrote an entry about Lost in his blog, but I didn't know he was going to mention it on the show.
Special K Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 The best was Michael making it 'snow.' I almost fell out of my chair.
Placebo Effect Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 Great stuff tonight, although a tad over the top with Michael being an asshole. "She's obviously aspiring to be a whore." "And then they make you drive them to church the next morning. I mean, gas ain't free!" Second base, followed by the wink was great.
Hank Kingsley Posted February 4, 2006 Author Report Posted February 4, 2006 Was this the last episode of the season? Considering how far they pushed the tension with Jim and Pam, it seemed like it. Anyway, my favorite part was the "guy stuff" complete with Michael unbuttoning his shirt. I also loved the Jim/Roy part, where you could see Kevin peeking in the background, and afterwards wiping the sweat off of his face. And Michael staring into the window during Jan's meeting was like last week, where he was staring at Ryan from his office (which was the best part of last week's episode, imo)
C Dubya 04 Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 "We can't let them stay in there together for too long or they will all get on the same cycle.....It would reek havoc on our plumbing." "This is a run out the clock situation, just like up there."
Placebo Effect Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 Was this the last episode of the season? Considering how far they pushed the tension with Jim and Pam, it seemed like it. I also loved the Jim/Roy part, where you could see Kevin peeking in the background, and afterwards wiping the sweat off of his face. There's five or six left actually. I loved they kept Kevin out of focus for most of that scene. "We can't let them stay in there together for too long or they will all get on the same cycle.....It would reek havoc on our plumbing." Easily the best line of the episode.
megaadvice Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 Glad lots of people in the US love The Office. Having only seen the UK version I cant really comment on this one although I bet its not better than the UK version. Has anyone who loves the American version seen the UK show if so I would be intrested to know how they compared. It seems the US one is going on for far longer has the original only had 12 episodes and 2 christmas specials.
Hank Kingsley Posted February 10, 2006 Author Report Posted February 10, 2006 Dwight Bobblehead and Conan cameo. Awesome.
2GOLD Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 Glad lots of people in the US love The Office. Has anyone who loves the American version seen the UK show if so I would be intrested to know how they compared. It seems the US one is going on for far longer has the original only had 12 episodes and 2 christmas specials. I think the UK version is still a little better but this one is doing pretty well at maintaining and not destroying the whole use of THE OFFICE name. Like that god awful US version of Coupling. I don't know if this show would have been a damn without Carrell though. He makes it a real winner while the others add that zeisty splash of hilarity.
DMann2003 Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 A Michael Scott Joint I love this show
The Electrifyer Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 "The Faces of Scranton" video was just friggin awesome.
The Mandarin Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 The funny thing is I actually expected it to be Tina Fey and I was a bit disappointed when they didn't deliver. Then fuckin' Conan showed up and I marked out. Fantastic.
Placebo Effect Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 BJ Novak's "I hooked up with her on February 13th" was the highlight of the show. The combo of the hair, facial expression, and editing was wonderful.
iggymcfly Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 I actually really like the dynamic between Michael and Jan. It seems like even though he's a total asshole 98% of the time, he always manages to save the day when she's around. Kinda gives him an added dimension beyond "absolute jackass". Oh, and the scene where Jan kisses Michael in the elevator and then looks back at the camera like "oh shit" was classic.
treble Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 'New York, New York. The city so nice, they named it twice. Manhattan is the other name.' That killed me.
Placebo Effect Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 Edit: Already posted in this thread.
DrVenkman PhD Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 'New York, New York. The city so nice, they named it twice. Manhattan is the other name.' That killed me. That was line of the night.
Special K Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 I can say that I like this version of the office just as much as the original, though I've only seen the first 6 epis of the UK show.
starvenger Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 'New York, New York. The city so nice, they named it twice. Manhattan is the other name.' That killed me. What killed me is that he's acting like he's a "real" New Yorker and then points out Sbarro as his favourite "pizza joint". Vintage Michael. The Conan cameo was just awesome. Dwight and Angela?
Angle-plex Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 I liked the UK version better before season 2 started, but since I've watched the UK eps and I have to say I at least like them equally, if not the US one a little more.
Darthtiki Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 Found this on iTunes: Michael Scott's Valentine's Day Romantic Playlist
The Electrifyer Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 Another funny part from this week's episode is when Oscar got his Valentine from his "mom" and hastly put it in his pocket. I love the little subtle progression of the little side storylines in the show.
Special K Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 In the absence of AD, this is probably my favorite show. And I want Jim and Pam to get together SO BADly. Whatever. I'm gay.
RepoMan Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 The could be a jump the shark moment however, I like all the sexual tension.
MillenniumMan831 Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 I did dig how Jim looks to be getting over Pam by telling Kelly to do the same w/ Ryan. "Valentine's Day isn't over because tonight . . you are going to get the best sex of your life." --- Gotta love Roy.
