Rob E Dangerously 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2005 http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/enter...nt/13061991.htm 50 Cent disagrees with Kanye West Associated Press NEW YORK - Rap feuds aren't usually about differing opinions on President Bush. However, that appears to be the case between 50 Cent and Kanye West. 50 says he disagrees with West's infamous statement that "George Bush doesn't care about black people," proclaimed during a September telethon for Hurricane Katrina victims. "I think people responded to it the best way they can," 50 told ContactMusic.com. "What Kanye West was saying, I don't know where that came from." Instead, 50 said, "The New Orleans disaster was meant to happen. It was an act of God." It wouldn't be the first time 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, made comments that weren't flattering of West. In a September interview with MTV, 50 - while otherwise complimentary of the popular "Gold Digger" rapper - said: "I feel like Kanye West is successful because of me." "After 50 Cent, (hip-hop fans) was looking for something non-confrontational, and they went after first thing that came along. That was Kanye West, and his record took off." West's second album, "Late Registration," has remained near the top of the charts since debuting Aug. 30. 50 stars in the upcoming film "Get Rich or Die Tryin," a biopic of the rapper that is set to open Nov. 9. I await the diss records to rebut that idiotic statement

Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2005 I fail to see where 50 "praises Bush" in the article. He disagrees with Kanye about Katrina sure, but that doesn't automatically mean it's praising Bush. I'm no 50 fan, but this story looks much ado about nothing. It's the AP trying to stir up shit and I hope Kanye and 50 have enough sense to do a sit down and tell each other what's up.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2005 50 Cent's rationalization on how he's the reason Kanye is popular is quite a stretch. "Oh I was too controversial so the fans were looking for something else so they picked him, therefore Kanye should thank me."

Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2005 I guess, but to me that's a stretch. He said "people". He didn't say "Bush responded the best way they can". He said "people", which could mean anyone who responded to the disaster- celebrities, athletes, musicians, government officials, etc. I guess he needs to single out Bush for me to consider the story being 50 praises Bush. Papacita 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2005 I don't even see how you can interpret that as praise to be honest. You can do a job to the best of your ability and still do a bad job.

Guest *KNK* Report post Posted November 3, 2005 50 clearly just wants some pub. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Might I add there's no buzz @ all about 50's attempt to mimic Eminem with his biopic. When Eminem's movie came out (which actually had pretty good reviews, which GRODT hasn't yet), there was a buzz, alongside the #1 song in the country (Lose Yourself), 8 Mile grossed a very big opening. However, 50 is running the media game for rap but unlike during Nas/Jay Z, Cannibus/LL and other big rap "feuds", Kanye is equally media savvy as 50 is, and Kanye is better at it. Ripper 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2005 I am getting tired of everyone saying 50 runs rap anyway. So he signed MOP, Mobb Deep and Mase. If they all came out with a album their combined sales might be platnium. Its not like he signed big selling artist (and I love MOP, but moving units is not something the guys have ever done). 50 isn't going at Kanye. 50 is going a Jay-z and he knows it. He knows how the Nas/Jay beef started and i expect the same here. In a few weeks, 50 will have something bad to say about Joe Buddens, Memphis Bleek, Petey Crackk, Tierre Marie or some other Rocafella artist. I am personally hoping that Jay just sends Tru-Life to do his dirty work and make a name for himself.

He's the top selling artist out there right now, even more than Eminem, and everything he touches is a hit record. Styles P said his album got delayed because 50 Cent told Jimmy Iovine he didn't want it to be released yet. Maybe the only guy above him at Interscope is Dr. Dre I don't think MOP, Mobb Deep and Mase are big signings, but all they have to do is throw 50 Cent on a single and they'll sell, it worked for Lloyd Banks, Young Buck and Tony Yayo. And anyway, I don't think there's going to be a 50 Cent-Jay Z feud. If there is it's going to be pointless because even though Jay would kill him lyrically, it wouldn't do anything to 50's popularity.

Annabelle 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2005 when did loaded glove become a 13 year old girl? 50 cent runs the rap game? maybe the mtv rap game. big difference. diddy runs the rap game moreso than fifty.
UZI Suicide 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2005 No, he runs the rap game. I never said I liked him, because I can't stand him. It's the truth though.
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2005 Eh, none of that matters. The pop audience is a significant coup in the rap game. So 50 running the mtv rap game is nothing to sneeze at. Kanye isn't much of a rapper, in terms of cadence and thus. Hey, I like him, but it's true. He has other strengths. I'd be interested in them feuding, as they are polarized, but equal, powers. Like, oh... Batman and Lex Luthor.
UZI Suicide 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2005 Kanye is like Dre, he's not really a great rapper in terms of flow, lyrics, etc. but he knows how to make hit songs. He's wayyyyyy better than 50 though.
