Match of the Year Shelton vs Shawn - Although I did like the Flair match from SS with Carlito. I marked when he hit the spot from the top rope. Feud of the Year Batista / HHH - I woukld have said Rey/Eddie, but Dominic holmes ruined this fued. It was good when Rey was getting brainbusters on steps. Best Brawler Batista - Big Dave is good at what he does. Best High Flier Rey- They banned all of that shit. If they let them do high flying moves it would be Paul London. Best Tag Team MNM Most Underrated Big Dave- He is a great guy, he is working through pain, and even when he is winning he gets shit. I think people over look him when saying who is good. Most Overrated John Cena - He has not Best Promos Christian - When they were in Canada. He said they needed the 3 C's of Cool, Canadian, and Christian. That and Tomko..Give me a beat. The Mandarin 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2005 Wrestler of the year is Eddie Guerrero, who single-handedly carried the very awful SmackDown after John Cena left. He did some superb (over)acting against the bland Rey Mysterio. His storyline with Batista was also very humorous. Eddie just did good work all year. You could also argue that about Kurt Angle, but he didn't carry a program in the way Eddie did. Feud of the year is Orton and Undertaker, who have put on two or three very good matches with an okay storyline and some cool visuals. Match of the year is Angle vs. Michaels from WrestleMania. Best brawler would be JBL. That's pretty much all he can do, but he does it well. He threw some great-looking worked punches against the Blue Meanie at ONS. Best high flier is Paul London. He did shit on Velocity that I'm shocked didn't get him fired (i.e. landing on the top of his head once every match; wrestling an athletic contest). Thankfully nobody watches that show. He's one of my runners up for wrestler of the year, just because he didn't fully work in WWE style for a long time. Best tag team is MNM. Absolutely useless by themselves, they put on a few enjoyable tag matches. Most underrated is John Cena, who had a string of good matches from May to late August, when he was at his peak. He's not entirely worthless. Most overrated is Carlito. While everyone, including me, realizes that he is absolutely worthless in the ring, his promos are what are overrated. They are unintelligible and lousy. Carlito is the worst wrestler of the year. Rey Mysterio was also very overrated this year, I thought Guerrero carried their feud. He also wasn't on his A-game for their WrestleMania or Summerslam matches, the ones that mattered. Plus, he let his frigging kid take part in a storyline (which doesn't mean anything, but hey). Rey Mysterio is the second most overrated wrestler of the year, in my opinion. Best promos is Eddie Guerrero, easily. They are why he was the WWE's MVP for the summer. Best PPV is WrestleMania 21 for Orton/Undertaker and Michaels/ECW: ONS was a half-decent attempt but it didn't overly remind me of the company. Worst PPV was Great American Bash. Wrestler of the Year Shawn Michaels, he had the most memorable matches in 2005 and I LOVED that promo in Montreal about Hart and Hogan. That was the best promo I had seen in a long time Feud of the Year HHH/Batista Match of the Year Royal Rumble, it was just really entertaining all the way through Best Brawler Batista Best High Flier Rey Mysterio, he had some high profile matches Best Tag Team MNM, without a doubt Most Underrated Gregory Helms Most Overrated Hulk Hogan Best Promos Shawn Michaels, Montreal promo etc.. Did virtually all the work both in the ring and promo-wise during his program with Hogan. Probably the best pure babyface in WWE at the moment. Honorable mentions: Angle, Eddie, Rey. Feud of the Year HHH/Batista, for the first half of the feud alone. Match of the Year Angle/Michaels @ WM21 Honorable mention: Edge/Hardy @ Unforgiven Best Brawler When he incorporates it into his matches, Angle. Best High Flier Shelton, only him and Rey have done any notable high flying this year really. Benjamin gets the nod for his beautiful somersault dive. Best Tag Team MNM Most Underrated Orton. He's a pretty good worker right now IMO, and still half the net is calling him utter shit. Most Overrated Lashley at the moment. Best Promos Christian. The fact that he's won over so many with so few promos and not a great deal of good matches speaks volumes about how good some those promos earlier this year were. Best High Flyer: Shelton Benjamin Best Brawler: JBL Best Tag Team: MNM Most Underrated: Shelton Benjamin Most Overrated: Carlito Best Promos: Eddie Guerrero Best PPV: ECW ONS Worst PPV: Taboo Tuesday Most Disgusting Promotional Tactic: The Hassan-Taker Masked Assailants angle. Very questionable angle and having the London Bombings shortly after it was taped didn't help matters much. It stirred so much shit up that it essentially cost a man his job. Some may say that the 'magic' wore off after further viewings, but I still love it. The only thing stopping WM 21 from being the best were its two weak main events.)
