JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2005 In honor of the Undertaker crazyness coming up this Friday on Smackdown (I won't say more to keep from spoiling stuff, but you've seen enough in the past to get the idea), what wrestlers have been booked to have supernatural powers, powers from beyond-this-world? The stupider it is, the better! I'll start: Kane is an obvious one. Taker's brother from the dead traded firing lightning bolts at peeps on RAW back in '98, even setting a crew member on fire. Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2005 Ultimate Warrior used to go on non-sensical rants about his "super human strenght"
Guest JMA Report post Posted November 30, 2005 Kane's powers seem to come and go. Maybe it has something to do with Bearer being his "father." Anyway, the stupidest were probably Papa Shango and The Black Scorpion (who knew that Ric Flair had magic powers?). I also hate the idea of supernatural powers in wrestling in the first place. I wince every time Taker summons a lightning bolt or disappears.

Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2005 Hogan in the last minute of any match from '84 to '96 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 96? shit, muthafucka did that just this year at Summerslam...funny how he can take a beating all match, hulk up and put his foes away with only 3 punches, a big boot and the leg drop... Guest JMA Report post Posted November 30, 2005 If Hogan's "Hulk Up" counts does that mean Shawn's "kip-up" does too?
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2005 no because his kip up doesn't always automatically lead to outright destruction of his foe...once Hogan hulks up the match is over, HBK's kip-up could lead to another 10 minutes of action...

nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2005 Papa Shango immediately sprung to mind. His "powers" were pretty much his entire gimmick. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Rasta the Voodoo Man > Papa Shango How about the Giant surviving his fall off the Joe, or HHH surviving the 30 foot drop in that car? Do those count?
Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2005 I guess if those count, so do Rock and Austin surviving their respective "vehicular homicide" attempts. HHH probably wins because he was on TV fine and dandy the very next week. Not to make light of his death, but as far as superpowers, Owen Hart as the Blue Blazer had the ability to "fly", surprising opponents on more than one occasion. Hurricane always acted like he thought he had super strength, at least when the gimmick started. Does Jerry Lawler throwing fireballs in Memphis count, since the marks probably thought that was real? Hoff 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2005 Couldn't Hunter control bees, oh wait that was that stupid YJ(Ephedra)Stinger commercial <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's still one of my favorite ads ever. Hunter does his spit take, and the spit turns into BEES! Then the bees chase this poor guy around a corner, when, WHAM, he runs right into a Triple H clothesline. I'm half surprised H didn't Pedigree the kid then and there. Such a comically great commercial.

Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2005 Similarly, you could count Great Muta, circa 1989 NWA, where certain colors of his mist could cause different levels of damage, including one color that could supposedly blind someone permanently.

spman 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2005 I always thought a great gimmick would be like a wrestler with with like ESP or telepathy or some shit where they stand on the other side of the ring and throw punches and clotheslines and do the motions for slams and powerbombs and stuff and their opponent sells it all.
