Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2005 FIT FINLAY?! Finlay hasn't wrestled at a decent level since his 1997 TV Title run. The guy was a good hand in the ring, but that was almost a decade ago. This is one of the most mind-numbingly idiotic things I have ever read. Blah, blah, blah. Finlay didn't exactly stink up the ring in 1998, and by the time 1999 came, he was stuck as a hardcore wrestler before getting injured. If Finlay wants to come back in a lower-mid-carder role, what's the big fucking deal? Kudos to him for coming back from what was said to be a career ending injury. This is one of the most mind-numbingly idiotic things I have ever read. ... when Mark Henry attacked Batista ... ^ Fit coming back isn't even the dumbest thing on the show I'm not even a Birchill mark but having Finley come back and allign with him & Regal would make sense. Put the two older guys as a tag team and keep Birchill as a singles wrestler. Plus, I've always been a mark for 6-man tag matches.
SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2005 Main event was MNM regaining the tag titles from Batista and Rey Mysterio. MNM worked on Rey's knee most of the time. Batista got the hot tag and was about to win the match when Mark Henry attacked Batista and MNM got the pin. The show ended with Melina holding up Henry's arm. Are they TRYING to make me not watch? Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2005 "First off, I just want to say this subject matter is of an adult nature. This isn’t easy for me. However, as a role model for young women, I have no choice but to somehow summon the courage to do what’s right. Not just for me, but for all the other women who have been in this position. The truth is, I was recently the victim. Victim of a sexual predator. A man who you all know as … Batista. I admit to an innocent flirtation with Batista. But that innocent flirtation soon turned into something abhorrent. I told Batista to STOP, but he didn’t! He used his power and influence as World Champion and forced me into having sexual relations. (Please, bear with me), Batista’s public image is that of a suave, sophisticated individual. But I know better. There is a side to Batista you all don’t know. A man who will stop at nothing to get what he wants … regardless of who he hurts. Well this time, Batista has gone too far. Batista, my body is MY TEMPLE. My body is NOT yours for the taking. You had NO RIGHT to do what you did to me. Every time I close my eyes, I am … I am haunted. Haunted by the image of Batista with that smirk on his face. IT is an image that I will carry with me the rest of my life. I’m … I’m scarred. Well I refuse to play the victim any longer. In order to ensure this horrific act does not happen to other women, I have decided to take a STAND. I have filed the necessary legal papers and at this time I am here to announce that I will be officially suing one Dave Batista. Suing him for sexual harassment." So I guess they are trying to draw the "wrongly accused of sexual harassment" audience? I guess WWE doesn't do rape, they do "sexual harassment". Thing is, I'm not shocked or upset or anything. I just think it comes off as a company screaming up and down like a child desperate for attention. Last week, it was suicide. This week it's alleged rape/sexual harassment. It just comes off as desperate and pathetic. I'm assuming Vince or someone in creative got accused of sexual harassment and this is their way of venting since a lot of the promos and such lately have been a sounding off board for Vince and Co. Cheex Incarnate 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2005 I don't think Henry is being brought it as a feud for Batista, but rather as a bodyguard for MNM. Or at least I hope to God thats the case -Cheex

k thx 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2005 When I say he'll be around for a while, I mean I think it'll be part of a storyline, not a one shot. He'll still probably be gone by mania.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2005 There is no good that can come from Mark Henry being back though. They spent a good 10 years on and off trying to get this guy over and he sorta did get over during his Sexual Chocolate phase, but that was like 6 years ago. I ask again: Why not just keep him on the shelf until his contract is up? They did this with the Dudleys and they are certainly more valuable than Mark Henry. Robert 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2005 The whole Melina/Batista thing reeks of that WCW angle on the Fingerpoke of Doom Nitro. At least Fit is back, I always liked him in WCW. Just let Mark Henry be jobbed to Batista and that be it.
Guest The 7 Word Bandit Report post Posted December 29, 2005 Dude, if they put the fucking belt on Mark Henry that is the day I never watch wrestling again. I warned everyone back when that Austin/Coach debacle went down. I said it made no sense for them to bother bringing Henry back with less than a year left on his contract, and that if they did they might feel obligated to sign him again. Whereas if they just kept him on the shelf he'd be quietly released next year. This sounds really, really bad. That would be worse than David Arquette. Mystery Eskimo 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2005 I just read Regal's book, in which he said that Fit's injury resulted in loss of use of one of his legs from the knee down, so I'm not sure how he's going to be able to work properly but kudos for his passion in trying. They should certainly do all they can to educate Birchall and push him as a legit threat.
Guest clockworkraven Report post Posted December 29, 2005 Batista’s public image is that of a suave, sophisticated individual. Even when she's been sexually harrassed she can still compliment Pimptista.

SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2005 About the Melina thing: If I was a woman, and I wanted to sue a guy for sexual harrassment, I sure as hell wouldn't do it if there was a video tape of me sexually propositioning him that'd been viewed by 3-4 million people. hyperchord24 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2005 Wait, I thought they were booking Orton to be "the future of this company, bah gawd!" So he's UT's bitch and now he's no where near the ME picture? I thought he called out tista. But now, the question is, who gets the belt? Orton sure as hell needs it to retain any sort of credibility, but Benoit can't look bad, can he? He shouldn't even be wrestling anywhere else but in the ME spot.

hyperchord24 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2005 They're going to keep Orton in "cruise control" until the Royal Rumble. Orton's still a bitch in my eyes. All arrows point to Benoit getting the belt, but that'll make Orton look even more like a bitch.
Team Angle Pusher 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2005 The show looks alright. I don't mind Mark Henry that much if he's a bodyguard type of guy. We'll probably get to see Henry versus Batista down the line. At NWO Batista is facing Kane, they are advertising that match already. They might do Henry/Batista at the Rumble, but it'll probably be like the opener or something, really short squash. I heard Henry did cut a good promo in OVW so maybe he got better on the mic. Also, I don't really know how Fit Finlay is like in the ring but he looks a bit like Ken Kennedy. Just have him have some nice matches for the US Title or something, it can't be that hard to make him acceptable. Another thing, I don't want JBL to face the Boogeyman at the Rumble cause I want to see both men in the Rumble. Boogeyman would be awesome in the Rumble
hyperchord24 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2005 OMG! Since they're mentioning the "Melina's speech" from the SD! tapings on WWE.com, it MUST be real!!! Danville_Wrestling 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2005 I always thought back in the Attitude era, a D-Lo Brown-Mark Henry tag team had promise but they split those guys up b/c of Jeff Jarrett after SummerSlam 1999.
Guest Nathan Report post Posted December 30, 2005 (edited) Highly entertaining show... JBL/Hardy was good, Dicks/Mexicools was fun, The ME tag match was really good, and Booker T's commentary during Orton/Benoit was quite humourous. Edit: Dicks/Mexicools... not MNM/Mexicools.
