With the huge size of games nowadays, do you still finish games, I've got about 6-7 games on the go at the minute(GTA:SA, Smackdown vs Raw 06, COD, Football Manager 06, F.E.A.R, Sims 2, The Movies) and all I seem to do is just dip in and out of them, GTA:SA for example, I'm still on the Caligulia's casino robbery, its not because I'm bad at games, its just I don't seem to be able to sit down and play games for hours like I used to, does anyone else not bother to finish games?

i've got lots of games i haven't finished, i just keep buying games though..

latest is re4

I too have not finished GTA San andreas, but i think the whole double pack of GTA 3 and Vice City was enough for me, Vice City being the only game of the bunch i played all the way through

never got into GTA 3, played it a few times but dont touch it often

I've always been a completionist. I can't move on to the next game until I finish the current one, provided I've enjoyed the current one well enough to try and complete it, of course.

This philosophy hasn't done well for me these last few years though, where adulthood and real life has drastically reduced my gaming time to almost nil, though I did get back into WoW recently, but that's a little different

Yes I try to complete games. There are times in which I won't complete a game, but it's mostly due to confusion of what/where/etc to do next. Those games I just put on the back burner for when I get a strategy guide. However if like a few months pass, then I lose interest completely and it ends up getting re-sold to the store. I was able to complete RE4, the last game I wanted to finish.

It irks me if I don't finish a game at some point. But I'll be playing a couple games at the same time and then one day realize I never finished one. Then I try to go back and finish that up. Like right now I have Gun going (I'm stuck at a frustrating level) and Big Red One going at the same time.

I used to with RPG's, but with working full-time, it's hard to finish them while still being interested in the story. Plus, most games have an annoying part (i.e. San Andreas and the damned plane missions with Zero) that also make you stop playing.

I used to not finish many games. But after having to go back and start them all over from the beginning years later, now I force myself to finish them. I won't buy or play another game until it's done.

Nope. Most games nowadays are lucky if they hold my attention for more than a day.

GTAs are too obvious as far as answers. The sidequests and screwing around can provide plenty of gameplay without advancing the story, so you can play it a lot and not finish.

I've got tons of games that are really good, that I love playing, but have not completed due to lack of time.

Yet I have mediocre games I stuck with and beat. Odd.

I routinely have IM convos with Renegade, who is blowing through several good games, and I have had little time to sit down and enjoy those same games because of work. Yech.

We need another gaming industry crash so I can catch up.

In like the span of a week I've beaten RE4, Urban Reign, X-Men Legends and am halfway through Legends 2. Plus daily Tekken 5.

Next up: Two Thrones.

I don't like completing a game. If I beat a game, and happen to unlock everything in said game/..I get a complete feeling of "...well...what now?" and I almost never go back to said game, no matter how fun it is.

So...I tend to get pretty far, but leave one little thing locked, or the end of an RPG unbeaten, so I have some justification for someday rebooting the damned thing

Generally, I switch between one RPG and one other game. Always playing the same game, especially long ones like RPGs, can get tiresome. GTA : San Andreas was the only game I played when came out last year, for maybe one month and a half. I got so sick of it by the start of the second city that I don't think I've even touched it in 2005.

I don't complete games like Gran Turismo and I don't even finish a season in franchise modes in sports games. Who has time to go all through this stuff ?

I am notorious for not finishing games. I've yet to beat Metriod Prime, Mario Sunshine, Freedom Fighters, etc.

I'm real bad at that.

The only games I've been playing lately are Mario Kart DS and Animal Crossing: WW. Note the portability and ability to game in short spurts.

I try to beat games, but the more hours it takes to complete, the harder they are to complete with my work/school/commute schedule. RPGs hardly ever get beaten by me anymore. I'll get through a portion and it'll get lost in the shuffle until I pick it back up some odd months later. By then I have the impulse to clear the save and start over, which usually ends up being a vicious circle.

I think the last game I finished was NFS Underground 2. I'm trying to get through NFS Most Wanted but I am struggling right now with trying to get to #5 on the Blacklist. The races aren't that much of a problem, but getting the milestones against the cops can be downright maddening, now that they are using heavy SUVs for their Rhino units. If you have more than three cops on your tail and you get hit head on by one of those fuckers, you're done. The map gives you maybe a half-second of warning to hit the Speedbreaker to avoid them.

Maddening, I tell you.

This is why RPG's used to drive me crazy(until i got hardcore into them) because I felt the need to talk to EVERY person and go to EVERY place possible.

I always, always do this on the first playthrough of any RPG. I try to get every item, mission, or scenario possible in the game.

So it usually takes me many more hours than the average person to get through an RPG the first time. On subsequent playthroughs, my completion time goes way down.

Off the top of my head, the only recent game I can remember not finishing 100% is GTA III due to a couple of rampages I couldn't beat.

I usually liek to finish games, but I still havent beat SA yet (and Im on the last mission and have failed it three times, but havent played in a month) or the simpsons hit and run (i have beat like one mission in a year). I have gotten distracted by other games coming out and just plain forgetting to play, as well as dvds.

I really need to beat SA now, since I did finish 3 and VC (well at least the storyline)

I complete most of the games I own. For example I completed COD and COD 2 single player, I completed Vice City and GTA 3, I completed most of my PS2 Games except for SD vs. RAW 2006. But I haven't completed GTA:SA and I can't be arsed to finish it either. Haven't completed God of War although it's a great game. I like finishing single player but I'm more of a multiplayer man.

I'm like Hawk in this respect, in that I'll get really far, feel happy with the game, and then stop completely.

In some cases, I'll delete my progress and start again, repeating the cycle. For instance, I've had FF8 for years, got up to Ultimecia, then deleted and started over.

I try my best, but I have still yet to complete the following games:

Knights of the Old Republic

Halo 2

Viewtiful Joe

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

And countless others that I've rented.

I have completed every game in the GTA series, but there are not many games that I play other than sports/wrestling games. I have been stuck on the end of Gun which is a rental that I am more than likely not going to complete. By the way, if you want to play Gun, I suggest a rental if it all possible.

I got Radiata Stories for Christmas, and beat it in less than a week. On the other hand, I got Lunar: Dragon Song, and have almost 20 hours on it, and I'm barely halfway through it. I've pretty much decided to sell it/trade it, because the game is horribly designed. The story is mediocre, the battle system is crappy, and the item/exp. system is the stupidest I've ever seen.

I'm quite surprised, since it's a game made by Ubisoft; but even the best companies occasionally make some turds.
