Hoff Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 I apologize if there's already a thread for this. I looked, didn't see one. Anyway, I can't be the only one who loves doing his taxes. I ran mine last night, and I'll be getting a combined $619 back from the governmnt, which I'll be using to fly out and see one of my best friends in Seattle. My roommate, who filed 0, got some $1500 back. So awesome. Anyone else got any big plans for their refunds?
CanadianGuitarist Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Same thing I did last year: Case of beer, bucket of chicken, a tank of gas and whatever two video games I'd like in April (it was Forza and an XBox Live renewal last year, Halo 3 and MLS 2k6 this year). With the remainder: 1/2 towards my loan 1/2 towards a golf membership or a couple rounds.
Carnival Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 I filed 0 and only get $996 I'm pissed.
Youth N Asia Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Getting back $750 here. Which is hopefully enough to move me out of the house

kkktookmybabyaway Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Congrats you all for giving Uncle Sam an interest-free loan. The kkk household will be doing their taxes tomorrow, the first filing as a married couple, and the first where we can write off the interest from our mortgage, or whatever that deduction is when you buy a house.
Nightfall Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 Well, I payed a whopping $8,000 to federal and get $1,500 back, claiming 0. And I grossed $50,500
SuperJerk Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 I've got no idea how much I'm getting back, but I guarantee all of its going towards grad school tuition. Then I can claim it again next year. Its a dirty cycle.
Guest Princess Leena Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 I'm getting $18 back. Can buy Mimi some fancy cat food she won't like for a month.
the max Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 Still have to do mine. It depends on how much I get back to see what I'll spend it on. I'll probably do something wild and crazy like...PUT IT IN THE BANK or something.
NoCalMike Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 Approx $1600 is coming back to me from the Feds. Thank you student tax credit, and a mother who knows how to help me out.

MarvinisaLunatic Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 I did my taxes about 2 weeks ago for free online and I've already had the money taken out/put in the bank. I owed $48 to the Feds but I got $64 back from the great state of Maryland. So Im ahead $16. Whee!
CanadianGuitarist Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 Approx $1600 is coming back to me from the Feds. Thank you student tax credit, and a mother who knows how to help me out. Last year I took everything to H and R Block, who told me I owed the government 350 bucks. They also charged me 30 bucks if they went ahead with filing, but gave me a free pizza coupon...which I had to go pick up, they wouldnt even deliver it. I told em no, and for the first time in my life, cursed the Canadian government. And I've lived through AdScam and the inclusion of GST. My grandmother, who's a bookeeper, did my taxes and got me 700 back, and even managed to carry-over my school tuition and charity donation write-offs this year. Maybe this year I'll just go on a bender or put it all on a horse.
Ced Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 I get a $153 refund for federal taxes and a crisp dollar refund from state taxes, which is all the tax I paid this year. Not bad for almost failing to make a five figure wage this year (and I'm quite sad about that).

Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 I'm getting back just shy of a thousand, state and federal combined. This marks the first time I've done taxes before the week they are due.
Guest Boobie Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 Did mine the other day, I made 20,000 in taxable income, and claiming head of household with two children, and a diabled spouse. I get back 6778.00 from federal. Not bad when I only payed the Federal government 1500 during the year. Thats loneshark interest right there.
Cran Da Maniac Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 As of right now, I get $240 for Federal and pay the state of MD $576
MarvinisaLunatic Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 As of right now, I get $240 for Federal and pay the state of MD $576 HAHA! /Nelson Muntz BTW, Im just a tad east of the Red Dot above Salisbury..
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 I once took a huge shit at a truck stop near Cumberland. True story.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 Marvin lives in the part of MD where there ain't nothin'.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 Congrats you all for giving Uncle Sam an interest-free loan ... the kkk household will be doing their taxes tomorrow. $2100 -- damnit, that could have been an extra $40 a week for the both of us this past year.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 That's why I don't claim anything. I like the lump sum.
The Amazing Rando Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 I live near Cumberland. What a wonderful place /not. I'm getting back about 400 bucks total. Bills are being paid.
BruiserKC Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 $6900 back in federal, $1000 back from the state of Iowa for me. I always have them take about $20 extra out of each paycheck for federal, $10 back from state. Most of it is paying a loan to my in-laws and to pay off my student loans...finally my student loans paid off.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 Marvin lives in the part of MD where there ain't nothin'. Except the main road to Ocean City...Route 50 and a lot of Chicken Houses. Oh, and we have a Minor League Baseball team too about 5 minutes from where I live.
therealworldschampion Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 I got back $430, along with my Stafford loan refund which is about $1100.
