Special K Posted March 28, 2006 Report Posted March 28, 2006 Curtis Mayfield's 'Superfly' Terrible movie, really. Amazing soundtrack. 2nd: Probably John William's 'Superman' score. I think it's his best ever.
Perfxion Posted March 28, 2006 Report Posted March 28, 2006 Prince "Purple Rain" hands down the best Soundtrack ever.
Annabelle Posted March 28, 2006 Report Posted March 28, 2006 sore = tie: bernard herrmann's taxi driver & curtis mayfield's superfly & prince's purple rain. compilation soundtrack = a tie between the royal tenenbaums & dead presidents.
Gary Floyd Posted March 28, 2006 Report Posted March 28, 2006 Goblin's score for "Suspiria" Richard Band's score to "From Beyond" Henry Mancini's score for "A Touch of Evil" The soundtracks to "Trainspotting" and "Return of theLiving Dead" are awesome Pink Floyd's soundtrack work. Especially "Obscured by Clouds"' Cowboy Bebop
Guest wildpegasus Posted March 28, 2006 Report Posted March 28, 2006 Transformers, Rocky IV and some anime shows I've seen.
LooseCannon25 Posted March 29, 2006 Report Posted March 29, 2006 Dead Presidents is the best for me....especially at the end.....perfect for the scene
Guest abowen33 Posted March 29, 2006 Report Posted March 29, 2006 Requiem for a Dream's is pretty amazing.
haVoc Posted March 29, 2006 Report Posted March 29, 2006 Always had "Dazed and Confused" in my car during my stoner days.
5_moves_of_doom Posted March 29, 2006 Report Posted March 29, 2006 All of my favorites have been mentioned already, but I would like to mention that the Akira soundtrack is really, really good.
Special K Posted March 29, 2006 Author Report Posted March 29, 2006 The Akira soundtrack is really good. Some guy brought it in at my last job, making doughnuts. Prince made a "Purple Rain" movie? God, I'm ignorant. And I need to see that movie badly. I still think 'Superfly' is a tad better than 'Purple Rain', though. It's honestly beautiful.
DARRYLXWF Posted March 29, 2006 Report Posted March 29, 2006 I've always enjoyed The Untouchables soundtrack, melodramatic but good fun. Most of Ennio Morricone's scores are worth a listen (the good, the bad, the ugly being the most well-known of his). Chariots of Fire, though overplayed and a little dated, is still worth a mention as well.
The Czech Republic Posted March 29, 2006 Report Posted March 29, 2006 I really enjoy listening to the Royal Tenenbaums soundtrack, especially with it augmented to include the Rolling Stones and other songs left off.

Guest NYankees Posted March 29, 2006 Report Posted March 29, 2006 Prince "Purple Rain" hands down the best Soundtrack ever. Every song on that albulm is a classic. IMO the best soundtrack ever. I like every song on the Dazed and Confused soundtrack but I dont think that soundtrack really counts. All they took was a bunch of hit songs from the 1970's and put them on two different cd's. However the use of the music in the movie was very good. Especially when the 3 are walking into the pool hall with "hurricane by bob dylan" playing.

Is there a reason why "Hurricane" and "Sweet Emotion" aren't on either disc?
Carnival Posted March 29, 2006 Report Posted March 29, 2006 Hustle And Flow pretty good, I agree. Officespace was good too. Forest Gump was good. Mortal Kombat No, Let's not bring this up.......

C Dubya 04 Posted March 29, 2006 Report Posted March 29, 2006 Singles. Movie was terrible, but I still love that soundtrack. Why??? Did you like listening to that I would walk 500'0000000 thousand miles ? That was from Benny and June (and I did like the song for the da da dat da part). Singles had a couple good Pearl Jam songs on it, Would by AIC, a great Screaming Trees cut, a couple from Paul Westerberg, Heart covering Zeppelin and I think a Soundgarden song or two amongst others.

Guest Samantha Posted March 29, 2006 Report Posted March 29, 2006 The Crow and Pump Up The Volume are my favourite ones. I also get a kick out of the Top Gun soundtrack... guilty pleasure.
Vampiro69 Posted March 30, 2006 Report Posted March 30, 2006 I actually still listen to my cd of "Last Action Hero". You had Alice in Chains, AC/DC, Queenschryce, Def Leppard and Aerosmith on it. Good Times.
The Niggardly King Posted March 30, 2006 Report Posted March 30, 2006 Mortal Kombat No, Let's not bring this up....... It's truly a work of art.
