MFer 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2007 Apparently the problem in Dever and the reason they aren't winning is Dre Bly and Champ Bailey. Because they gave up a touchdown each. Because great corners never do that. Ever. Well, not the white ones. Has there ever been a great white corner? Paul Krause (local guy, career INT leader with 81). Of course he played in the 60s and 70s but still...
Guest Gym Class Fallout Report post Posted October 30, 2007 Has anybody ever adequately explained the obvious racial disparity from position to position in football? Quarterback can be largely attributed to how mildly racist coaches tend to dissuade black players from playing quarterback unless they're running quarterbacks, but what about cornerback? Does it just not occur to white people to play there?
Ripper 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2007 Secondary in general honestly. You get John Lynch, and a few other safeties, but cornerback is a no no. I mean seriously, Matt jones is like 6'4, has pretty good hands and runs a 4.3 and is the size of a ox. You mean no one tried him as a freakishly large corner or safety. Ever? I always found it wierd. Won't even get into the white running back not existing unless he is a powerback.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2007 It's because white men can't jump. Seriously, scientists found that black athletes have some sort of stronger spring in their leap that dates back to their days roaming the African plains. That's why you have the black athletes being the flashier players in the NBA or NFL whereas the white players are "vanilla".

Cheech Tremendous 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2007 The black is a better athlete to begin with because he's been bred to be that way -- because of his high thighs and big thighs that goes up into his back, and they can jump higher and run faster because of their bigger thighs. This goes back all the way to the Civil War when during the slave trading, the owner -- the slave owner would breed his big black to his big woman so that he could have a big black kid. Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2007 Paul Krause was a safety. Bobby Bryant was the white CB for the Vikings. Is the white safety ever not a coach on the field?

Guest Gym Class Fallout Report post Posted October 30, 2007 Secondary in general honestly. You get John Lynch, and a few other safeties, but cornerback is a no no. Adam Archuleta doesn't count because he shows up to games but stopped actually playing football. It's just a weird little thing, I guess, because obviously, there are white people playing in the secondary somewhere (unless you have high schools in Iowa that just import black people up to play corner) but they never make it to the highest level of play. As for flash appeal, I don't know about that, because outside of the interceptions, there's not really a great deal of glamour to that position, or any defensive position, really. We've been over "born athlete" vis-a-vis "hard worker" already; this is a more interesting aspect of race in sport, to me, at least.

Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2007 Bill Simmons' latest column, wherein he complains about the Colts/Pats game and suggests that the NFL is conspiring to keep New England from an undefeated season. Timmy8271 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2007 I bet Gomez went nuts when he found out about Bonds. Finally he gets to work some more. ESPN's coverage of the bonds stuff was crazy. NO ONE gives a shit what Screamin A smith and Barkley think of the coverage. And the "debate" between the two Atlanta Journalists was laughable.
