CanadianGuitarist Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 I don't mean gimmicks. I mean actual nicknames, like one of my choices for best "Excellence of Execution". Push to Mabel notwithstanding, anyone remember when Mo from Men on a Mission became Sir Mo? Terrible.
PLAGIARISM! Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 I don't think I've heard much worse than 'The Charismatic Enigma'.
ryankeast Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 Second "The One" Billy Gunn. Also I never liked "The Next Big Thing"and "Big Daddy Cool" I always liked "The Supreme Fighting Machine" Kama.
Guest Fook Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 "Manster" was definitely the worst, although "Booger Red" is up there as well.
CanadianGuitarist Posted May 22, 2006 Author Report Posted May 22, 2006 Apart from Ryankeast's post, I dont recognise any of those.
Maztinho Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 I always dug Man Beast for Rhino in ECW. Worst... White Thunder for Scott Steiner
Lil' Bitch Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 Worst: Jericho being the King of Bling Bling
MillenniumMan831 Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 I actually dug "The One" nickname. Why the fuck is Billy Gunn going over Chris Benoit? Cause he's The One. How is Billy Gunn still alive in the Rumble this year? Cause he's The One.
RepoMan Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 Was Ass Man Gunn's nickname or does it count as a gimmic?
Dobbs 3K Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 He was nicknamed "Mr. Ass" for a while. I actually liked when he was called "The One" Billy Gunn because at least that name didn't have the word "Ass" in it, so you didn't have to be embarassed when he came on TV. "Booger Red" was a stupid nickname for Undertaker, but that was really just a Jim Ross-ism. No one else referred to him as that. "The Big Valbowski" always seemed pretty lame to me. I don't like some of TNA's current ones, like "The Playa from the Himalaya", especially. Also, I don't think "The Samoan Bulldozer" quite works for Umaga.
benoit4hor Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 "big sexy the giant killer" Kevin Nash, was a little much. and almost all of Scott Steiners "big poppa pump" "big bad booty daddy" "white thunder" One of the best is probably "the enforcer" Arn Anderson.
TheInsane Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 On the bad side of thing I agree on "big bad booty daddy". Is someone supposed to take that seriously. It sounds stupid. Also Hardcore Holly as "The Alabama Slamma" was really bad.
Guest TheGreatWesuke Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 What the heck IS a "Nature Boy" anyway? I've always assumed it was taken from the song "Nature Boy"... I've heard Frank Sinatra sing it, but it might date back even further than that. Anyone?
Just John Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 I can't believe I forgot Alabama Slamma. I was ragging on that name for the entire 3 weeks they tried to get it over. I always thought "human suplex machine" was kinda lame too.
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 When I look back at it, "Stone Cold" is really, really, really lame.
Quasar Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 When I look back at it, "Stone Cold" is really, really, really lame. Actually, Stone Cold was very fitting to Steve's gimmick of a man with a stone cold heart, a man that'll kick your ass and not care. He was cold and calculated, just as the name suggests.
MillenniumMan831 Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 After Gunn's KotR win in 1999, King Ass had the potential to be kinda catchy (in my humble opinion of course) but they never ran w/ that.
CanadianGuitarist Posted May 24, 2006 Author Report Posted May 24, 2006 "The Big Valbowski" always seemed pretty lame to me. Wasn't that his actual name for a while? I was all over that one at first too. Cyrus' "Ayatollah of Rock and Bowla" was so bad it was good.
FroGG_NeaL Posted May 24, 2006 Report Posted May 24, 2006 A Nature Boy basically means you're a pimp, a playa, a mack daddy, a ladies man...

I know what it meant. I just think it sounded stupid.
Cran Da Maniac Posted May 24, 2006 Report Posted May 24, 2006 "The Big Valbowski" always seemed pretty lame to me. Wasn't that his actual name for a while? I was all over that one at first too. Cyrus' "Ayatollah of Rock and Bowla" was so bad it was good. It was "Ayathollah of Rock and Rolla
CanadianGuitarist Posted May 24, 2006 Author Report Posted May 24, 2006 Jericho - Ayatollah of Rock and Rollah Cyrus - Ayatollah of Rock and Bowlah.
