Dobbs 3K Posted June 9, 2006 Report Posted June 9, 2006 Scarily enough, I think Weird Al was the first musician I was really into. I probably wore out my cassette of "Off the Deep End". I always loved "Trigger Happy." Also, I can't remember the title, but the one song where he talks about tying up his prom date and leaving her in the desert and other messed up stuff like that.
The Metal Maniac Posted June 9, 2006 Report Posted June 9, 2006 That's "Good Old Days". Do you remember sweet Michelle? She was my high school romance She was fun to talk to and nice to smell So I took her to the homecoming dance Then I tied her to a chair and I shaved off all her hair And I left her in the desert all alone Sometimes in my dreams I can still hear her screams Oh I wonder if she ever made it home
The Amazing Rando Posted June 9, 2006 Report Posted June 9, 2006 I just remembered how awesome the video for "This Is The Life" is. Also, I dig "Here's Johnny", "Good Old Days", "King of Seude", and "Midnight Star" (the last two being off of In 3-D)
Mecha Mummy Posted June 10, 2006 Report Posted June 10, 2006 Good stuff. You know, off the top of my head, I can't even think of any other parodies he did that were making fun of the song itself, and not just using the song to make fun of something else. "This Song is Just Six Words Long." Actually, considering it's Al it's surprisingly vicious since it's more or less calling "Got My Mind Set On You" by George Harrison absolutely pointless and poorly-written.
Adam Posted June 10, 2006 Report Posted June 10, 2006 I own the Weird Al DVD, which is always great for a laugh. As for my favourite filmclips, "Bob" is awesome, "Smells like Nirvana" is perhaps his best parody, and "Headline News". Honorable mentions to "Amish Paradise", "It's All About the Pentiums", and "Eat It".

It was even freakin better that he got Brad Roberts' wardrobe and facial expressions down.

DMann2003 Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 Oh jeez too mahy to mention- I Lost on Jeopardy Alberquerque Stuck in a Closet with Vanna White Germs (nice NIN style parody) You Don't Love Me Anymore How could no one mention...Yoda I met him in a swamp down in Degobah Where it bubbles all the time like a giant cabonated soda, S O D A soda I saw the little runt sitting there on a log I asked him his name and in a raspy voice He said Yoda, Y O D A Yoda, Yo-yo-yo-yo Yoda
The Amazing Rando Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 yes! You Don't Love Me Anymore! for the life of me I couldn't remember the name of that song.
DMann2003 Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 We've been together for so very long But now things are changing oh I wonder what's wrong Seems you don't want me around The passion is gone and the flames died down I guess I lost a little bit of self esteem That time that you made it with the whole hockey team You used to think I was nice Now you tell all your friends that I'm the Anti-Christ Oh, why did you disconnect the breaks in my car? That kind of thing is hard to ignore Got a funny feeling you don't love me anymore I knew that we were having problems when You put those pirranas in my bathtub again You're still the light of my life Oh darling I'm begging won't you put down that knife You know I even think it's kinda cute the way You poison my coffee just a little each day I still remmember the way that you laughed When you pushed me down the elevator shaft Oh if you don't mind me asking what's this poisonous cobra doing in my underwear drawer Sometimes I get to thinking, You don't love me anymore You slammed my face down on the barbecue grill Now my scars are all healing, but my heart never will You set my house on fire You pulled out my chest hairs with an old pair of pliers Oh, you think that I'm ugly and you say that I'm cheap You shaved off my eyebrows while I was asleep You drilled a hole in my head Then you dumped me in a drainage ditch and left me for dead Oh, you know this really isn't like you at all You never acted this way before Honey, something tells me you don't love me any more, oh no no Got a funny feeling you don't love me anymore
DMann2003 Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 And how could we forget- The Biggest Ball of Twine in Minnesota
The Amazing Rando Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 I enjoy pretty much everything off "Al In A Box".
Molotov The Bear Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 Songs: I lost on Jeopardy The saga begins Yoda The Night Santa went crazy I think I'm a Clone Now Headline News Christmas at Ground Zero Videos: Jurassic Park Eat it Fat
daileyxplanet Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 Weird Al's Bad Hair Day and Coolio's Gangtas' Paradise were my first cassettes I actually asked for.
Jericholic82 Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 he did a song that's on the same album as the Nirvana goof where he does a medley of songs that were popular at that time and does it all in Polka...it's great! EDIT: which was Polka Your Eyes Out, as Dubs already covered... He does that on every album. yep I liked his one on poodle hat (called "Angry White Boy Polka") which had had a video for on the last Al-Tv in 03 (which was pretty funny show which had "interviews" with Avril Lavigne, Eminem, and Celine Dion, where they showed real interview clips spliced with Al asking weird questions, HILARIOUS) as for my fav, maybe amish, although I did like the flinstones one. Gump was great as well (Gump as a shrimp-boating man, had a partner he called Lt. Dan, his girlfirned Jenny was kind of a slut, went to the white house showed LBJ his BUTT) or something like that
C Dubya 04 Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 You know, an amazing Weird Al song is "Bob", the one where it's a take on Dylan and every line he sings is a palindrome.
Guest wildpegasus Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 Did anybody see all the Weird Al interviews on youtube? The one with Eminem is classic.
The Amazing Rando Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 Avril's is better... "oh, right, you're Canadian"
MarvinisaLunatic Posted June 18, 2006 Report Posted June 18, 2006 Im liking his new one "You're Pitiful" My life is brilliant What? Was I too early? Oh, sorry Should I Do you wanna start over? CanadianGuitarist Posted June 19, 2006 Report Posted June 19, 2006 You know, an amazing Weird Al song is "Bob", the one where it's a take on Dylan and every line he sings is a palindrome. I'd like to know more about this Avril's is better... "oh, right, you're Canadian" And I'd certainly like to know more about this.
Adam Posted June 19, 2006 Report Posted June 19, 2006 "Bob" was posted earlier in this thread on YouTune, IIRC. Brilliance. I man am Regal, a German am I! Never odd or even! If I had a Hi-Fi!
Ced Posted June 19, 2006 Report Posted June 19, 2006 "Bob" is a nice one because if you just listen to it, you think it's just a off-the-wall satire of Bob Dylan, then eventually you realize the brilliance in that every line is a palindrome. As for videos, "Fat" all the way for me.
C Dubya 04 Posted June 19, 2006 Report Posted June 19, 2006 You know, an amazing Weird Al song is "Bob", the one where it's a take on Dylan and every line he sings is a palindrome. I'd like to know more about this http://youtube.com/watch?v=Nej4xJe4Tdg&sea...eird%20al%20bob Here you go, enjoy.
Dr. Zaius Posted June 29, 2006 Report Posted June 29, 2006 My 2 favorite Weird Al songs are "Yoda" and "Beverly Hillbillies".
Guest Felonies! Posted June 29, 2006 Report Posted June 29, 2006 "Dare To Be Stupid." Good song. I was disappointed by "Dog Eat Dog," though, which was supposed to be Talking Heads. What did you think of "Genius in France"?
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted June 30, 2006 Report Posted June 30, 2006 I don't know it by title, though I'm sure I've heard it. Weird Al begins and ends with UHF, as far as I'm concerned.
Guest The Beta Male Posted June 30, 2006 Report Posted June 30, 2006 yeah, beverly hillbillies for me too. wasn`t the video a take on the Dire Straits original as well?
FroGG_NeaL Posted July 6, 2006 Report Posted July 6, 2006 Man, I love me some Weird Al. I can't pick a single favorite song or video, I've been a fan of the guy since I first saw the Eat It video on MTV when I was like 5 years old. I got to see him live at Six Flags here in St. Loius a couple of years ago. He dresses like he does for the videos for each song. And they played those fake interviews on a huge screen. It was an awesome show, if you ever get a chance to see dude live then do it.
