Guest ResidentEvil Report post Posted October 3, 2006 Chris Benoit is scheduled to be on the Smackdown house shows on November 4th and 5th in Michigan. This could be a possible indication of his return. This is also intereseting when one remembers that Benoit was originally scheduled to be on house shows at an earlier date. For whatever reason or reasons, those dates looked to have been postponed.
10 Pounds 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2006 From PWInsider: WWE will bring its original Internet show Byte This, back from the dead this Saturday at 12 PM, with a special live edition that will steam on the WWE website. Vince McMahon will be the guest. The company is promoting it as his first appearance since the Unforgiven PPV, where McMahon was stretchered out of the ring following a loss to DX. Byte This was shelved last February following a controversial appearance by the Heart Throbs, who were later released. WWE was quick to defend reports that the show was canceled, instead claiming it was on "hiatus" and would return at a later date. https://secure.wwe.com/forms/contact/help/vincechat.php What was so controversial about it ? Too much gay references ?
Guest ResidentEvil Report post Posted October 3, 2006 The negatives if this were to take place would be very high but the thought of Shane and Vinnie Mac actually bringing back the NWO to face off against DX has me intrigued more than anything Raw has done in a long time. I. as an internet smartmark will admit this.

Boxer 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2006 Now the World Heavyweight Title match at No Mercy is a Fatal Four Way: For the first time in SmackDown history, a pay-per-view main event has been changed with less than a week to go before the event. General Manager Theodore Long has ordered Sunday’s World Heavyweight Championship Match to be changed to a Fatal Four-Way. Per the General Manager’s orders, King Booker will now be forced to defend his gold against not only No. 1 Contender Bobby Lashley, but also former World Heavyweight Champion Batista and Finlay. As always, the rules of a Fatal Four-Way are simple: the first Superstar to record a pinfall or submission will take home the gold. Stay tuned to Friday Night SmackDown for more on this breaking story. Credit: wwe.com
UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2006 What the hell? No Mercy main event is now Lashley/Booker/Finlay/Batista 4-way? Edit: beat me by seconds. STUPID.
Aero 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2006 Seriously, when Finlay returned in January, who would've thought he would be in a PPV main event by the end of the year?
benn 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2006 Changing the No Mercy ME so close is bullshit. Finlay and Batista both jobbed to Booker and Lashley to set up the two matches, so why throw them back in randomly? I was really looking forward to Book and Lashley tearing the house down and Finlay stiffing the everloving shit out of Batista too. That Gregory Helms quote rules so much, I'm sigging it. I was really looking forward to Book and Lashley tearing the house down and Finlay stiffing the everloving shit out of Batista too. That Gregory Helms quote rules so much, I'm sigging it. You know they ARE still in the same match, right? I also didn't really see Lashley and Booker as a "tear down the house" match, or something that could sell a PPV, so this is a good move - though Meltzer hints something is up in his news about it. "We should have an explanation shortly for the change, but when PPV matches are changed at the last minute, it is usually a pretty substantial reason as to why." spman 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2006 Here is how I interpret Meltzer-ese in this situation. Either: A. Booker T and Lashley's matches at the house shows have been stinking up the ring and they're desperate or B. They're hitting the panic button and just putting the belt back on Batista already or C. Serious injury or drug test failure necessitating Finlay becoming a transitional champ. I'm hoping for C myself, but we'll see.
Guest Hotbutter Spoontoaster Report post Posted October 4, 2006 Man, I hope Finlay becomes champ, even a transitional one.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2006 Indeed wrestling got an interview with a WWE production worker who got fired a couple of weeks ago hxxp://dl01.blastpodcast.com/indeedwrestling/15285_1157433044.mp3 he talks about: long hours, how being a wrestling fan works against you, Randy Orton's suspension was a work (to reinforce his bad bay image and move him back to raw) how every episode of TNA is taped and logged and what it was like in production the day Eddie died. I also highly recommend giving that interview a listen. He went into how they told him not to use footage of guys working in another company, unless it shows them getting their ass kicked. There are lots of really cool bits in the interview.

I thought someone getting fired cause the word "finish" was used in an interview was a bit extreme, even by WWE standards.

The Niggardly King 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2006 I just find it funny how the WWE basically quit on Smackdown once Eddie passed, and Batista got injured. It makes it even funnier that they're putting pretty much all their time in RAW now, and that makes RAW's failure even more interesting to me.

Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2006 --The change in the main event for Sunday's No Mercy to a four way with Batista, Finlay, Booker and Lashley for the title was due to the fact the company believed nobody bought Lashley as a top contender and the buy rate wouldn't be any good. The company's feeling is Batista is the biggest draw on the brand and it helps to get him in a challengers role, which was the original plan to begin until they changed to Booker vs. Lashley. From Meltzer. Is Bret Hart ever planning on releasing his book? Meltzer talked about it on WOL on Sunday, and said he spoke to someone who has read the first volume. It's apparently tremendous and very, very big.
