MillenniumMan831 Posted July 28, 2006 Report Posted July 28, 2006 I'm hoping a "Deacon" chant (in the cadence of IRRRRWIN IRRRRRWIN)breaks out during Tuesday's main event.

Hasbeen1 Posted July 29, 2006 Report Posted July 29, 2006 I wouldn't necessarily say it's just "this company". The whole business has this weird "respect" thing going on, which at times is ok, but at times is over stepping the mark, in my opinion. I've heard Lance Storm talking about a story to do with seats before, as I'm sure others have, and it sums it up really. Juvenile, yes, but that's the way it is. Those that don't want to be part of it should get out and get a 9-5 job. Everybody starting out knows it. Kid Kash bas been in wrestling at least a decade, I'm sure one of you can give the exact year. Those that don't follow it get hazed more than usual, made into locker room/road outcasts, or these days, fined or suspended. Anyone fortunate enough to make it to Stanford should fall in line with whatever's asked or expected, except for the obvious exceptions (Pat Patterson type stuff). Bullshit. People trying to make a living shouldn't have to put up with that kind of crap. It doesn't fly in the real world and it shouldn't fly in "Stanford" either. They'll be lucky if someone doesn't go full-on postal in the locker room one day. Amen. This is a publically traded company. And if it wants to be taken seriously, then the backstage has to grow up. I was talking more about the pecking order as far as respect goes, than any particular hazing incident or routine. Some of it I was putting in the Patterson category. Yeah, it's stupid, but again it's not going to stop anytime soon. I've never played football at the professional level but I would bet some of the stuff that goes on in the NFL makes the WWE hazing seem like little league. Also about the NFL, the picture of Jerry Porter in another thread should prove steroids aren't needed. It does take a good natural body to begin with, but most of the wrestlers should have that to begin with (and no, not all, so don't start listing exceptions). There are steroids in the NFL no doubt, but a lot of guys get busted for it too and after losing 1/4 or 1/2 of a yearly paycheck in the millions they clean up their acts.
haVoc Posted July 29, 2006 Report Posted July 29, 2006 Did you guys know Mark Henry pushes it to the limit every time he's in the ring? Here's a few quotes from an interview on WWE.com. I feel some disappointment, but a lot of it is frustration because I told myself this time around that I wasn’t going to take so many chances; I wasn’t going to risk my body as much. But that’s what the business needed,” Henry said. “It’s just the nature of the beast.” “I’m a soldier, man,” Henry said. “As much as I want to not get hurt, I’m not going to be the big guy that walks around and doesn’t take chances, that’s what I do,” he added. “That’s how much I love [WWE].” That crazy Mark Henry. He really should slow down and not take so many risky chances.

haVoc Posted July 29, 2006 Report Posted July 29, 2006 Sci-Fi Lists ECW On September Schedule ECW looks to be staying on Sci-Fi... Sci-Fi Channel has released their September schedule and ECW is on it, meaning it is very likely that ECW will be picked up after its trial run ends. The original 12 week trial run was scheduled to end August 29th. Both WWE and Sci-Fi are thrilled with ECW's ratings thus far. Credit: 411
slimm44 Posted July 29, 2006 Report Posted July 29, 2006 I know this has been reported in the Movies forum, but The Marine is scheduled to release October 13th

Atticus Chaos Posted July 29, 2006 Report Posted July 29, 2006 Just finished Eddie Guerrero's book. Decent read but I think Regal's was better at explaining the true pitfalls of drug addiction. It's really sad to hear him say how grateful he is to be alive and talking about his freinds who have passed away. There's a weird bit where, in all seriousness, he says he thinks Kevin Nash is truly evil.

haVoc Posted July 29, 2006 Report Posted July 29, 2006 I finally watched the infamous CM Punk Vs Val Venis Heat match. The one where HHH and HBK buried him. I didn't see anything seriously wrong with what he did. I expected him to be sloppy or something from nerves which I figured they used as a reason, but I thought he performed and told a great story with what he and Val were given.

Timmy8271 Posted July 30, 2006 Report Posted July 30, 2006 So is the new WWE magazine gonna break Kayfaybe? Well they already did. They mentioned Batista left his wife after cheating with melina.

The Amazing Rando Posted July 30, 2006 Report Posted July 30, 2006 If WCW was still around, she'd already be US champion.

The Amazing Rando Posted July 30, 2006 Report Posted July 30, 2006 Random Bizarro Hallway Boogeyman and WHAAAA SAMOA~!! makes that awesome. As does Dancing Gumby.

The Amazing Rando Posted July 30, 2006 Report Posted July 30, 2006 Does it matter? It was all random shit. Personally, though, I think it should've ended with the Hogan poses.

I believe it was pretty much the "vanilla midgets" and thinking that him and Benoit didn't deserve pushes in WCW is what led to that.
