Guest Felonies! Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 We can't all have nice things, The Man in Blak. I still have analogue cable!
The Man in Blak Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 One can deduce, by your act of posting on a message board, that you have access to the internet. And I believe that TiVo pulls its program guide data through the information superhighway. (Though, I could be wrong). Therefore, no excuses.
bob_barron Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 If I see one more Bud Light ad where the fan starts getting obnoxious about the Cowboys, Dolphins or Bills- someone is going to die.
treble Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 Haven't seen the Saints one, but I've seen a Bills one a few times.
bob_barron Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 Meant the Bills my bad. Will be edited. Seriously, I HATE those ads
The Man in Blak Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 Really, the Monday Night Football ads are more enjoyable to me than the game itself, if only because I imagine Kinetic narrating over them. With conviction.
CanadianChris Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 If I see one more Bud Light ad where the fan starts getting obnoxious about the Cowboys, Dolphins or Bills- someone is going to die. Those ads are awful. Whoever thought of them should be fired.
Mik Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 Hell, I have DVR but always watch sports live. I personally want to end the existence of John Mellencamp. Good god that is terriblly grating after the 10,131st viewing. It was bad after the 2nd.
Black Lushus Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 I don't think I've seen any team specific Bud Light ads, but the bouncing floor one is pretty good. For me, it's a toss up between the Coors Light "press conferences" and John Mellencamp. Oh and the Ford truck one where the guy pulls a semi hauling tons and tons of shit out of the tunnel...come on now...
treble Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 I think the team specific ads are Canadian. You're lucky.
snuffbox Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 How does Johnny Cougar keep getting let out into the general population?
Guest Felonies! Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 "Is It Monday Yet?" is leading? I thought that everybody FROM THE EAST COAST (points to the right) TO THE WEST COAST would be sick of Chevy.
RepoMan Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 I think the team specific ads are Canadian. You're lucky. Why does Bud Light even bother to advertise in Canada?
nl5xsk1 Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 I voted other. It's the Peyton Manning commercials that kill me. I don't know the Mellencamp commercial that everyone under the sun hates - I don't doubt that I've seen it, but I know that I haven't paid enough attention to tell you a single thing about the song or the ad. The Coors lights aren't funny, but they're not annoying enough to drive me away from a football game. And I avoid ESPN like the plague at this point, so haven't seen enough MNF ads to know how much they bother me. But the Peyton Manning ads, from the laughably overrated "Cut that Meat!" ones to the stupid mustache & wig one to the whole family calling plays while living their normal life ... ugh. No mas.
Guest Felonies! Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 Oh, I like Peyton and his laser, rocket arm. Man Law doesn't really get on my nerves, either. "Buh-lock. Duh-umb." But man, Mellencamp. Sweet Jesus. Who would actually buy his new album at this point? You've already heard the song a thousand times!
devo Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 TO THE WEST COAST Nothing displays the magnificence of the Pacific Coast like a forest fire. Yeesh.
CanadianChris Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 I think the team specific ads are Canadian. You're lucky. Why does Bud Light even bother to advertise in Canada? Expat Americans who still can't handle Canadian beer? You got me.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 I'm from fucking Indiana. You people don't know what being sick of John Cougar Menstrualcramp is.
razazteca Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 Side effects include: - temporary blindness - dehydration - minor headaches - carpel tunnel syndrome - back strain - male pattern balding - if you have high blood pressure or are using nitrates do not use product "if your erection last longer than 4 hours then go buy some whores"
Just John Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 *Brief guitar riff* I CAN STAND... *Mute* Happens at least 3 times a game, and even more than that when there isn't a game on another channel. Was also a regular occurence during the MLB playoffs. And it's not just the annoying song, the visuals are terrible too. It's such a redneck ad, but they try not to alienate the non-hicks by flashing pics of Vietnam protesters and MLK Jr. And, as has been pointed out, the guy pointing right on cue with "East Coast" is a total headshaker. I'll make sure to never by a Chevy of any kind.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 It's not just the visuals. Listen to the lyrics of the song.
KingPK Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 Here you go. So the song is annoying and preachy. Great I can stand beside Things I think are right And I can stand beside The idea of stand and fight And I do believe There’s a dream for everyone This is our country From the east coast To the west coast Down the Dixie Highway Back home This is our country There's room enough here For science to live And there's room enough here For religion to forgive And try to understand The other people of this world This is our country From the east coast To the west coast Down the Dixie Highway Back home This is our country That poverty could be Just another ugly thing And bigotry could be Seen only as obscene And the ones that run this land Will help the poor and common man This is our country From the east coast To the west coast Down the Dixie Highway Back home This is our country The dream will never leave And some day it will come true And it’s up to me and you To do the best that we can do And let the voice of freedom Sing out through this land This is our country From the east coast To the west coast Down the Dixie Highway Back home This is our country
devo Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 Would it have killed him to stick a bridge or something somewhere in there?
Timmy8271 Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 All of the above. But the Mellencamp one is horrible.
Open the Muggy Gate Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 The Man Law ads are pretty entertaining in my eyes. I loved the one they showed a while back where everyone was hiding their beers. I wanted to vote for THIS IS OUR COUNTRY so bad.... but those Monday Night Football ads are really getting on my fucking nerves. "Only 3 more days before Deion Branch goes against Randy Moss". I'M SO THERE!
Darthtiki Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 I love Chevy, I've been a Chevy guy since birth until this car (only because we got a deal on a Dodge), but god damn whoever in their ad agency who conceptualized these commercials needs to be fired. First the West Coast being forest fires and then the Dixie Highway being flooded by Katrina....smart let's sell trucks by playing on images that are seen as downers.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 That song makes stars and stripes shoot from my asshole while bald eagles flap their wings inside my tummy.
