Show's over

Recommended Posts

What is their big fucking hype behind Hogan vs Show? It's not like we've never seen that match before in the past.

Andre/Hogan pt. II in Detroit, 20 years later.

Andre is dead and we've seen Show and Hogan fight TONS of times in the past. It's not like Andre and Hogan had a series of matches before WM III, they only had like one match prior to that didn't they?

As a concept it's completely retarded. In reality, it's still completely retarded. Leave it up to WWE.

It's in Detroit. On the 20th anniversary of the biggest moment in the history of that company at the greatest event of that companies history. It's not "retarded", it's ill-conceived.

Andre and Hogan had a series of matches prior to that one, going all the way back to the days when Hogan was a completely bland cocky heel who didn't speak. I think Hulk Still Rules has one that took place about five years prior in a sports stadium as an extra.

Even still. There was a history behind the match at WMIII. The two were buddies up until that point on Piper's Pit where Andre tore teh cross right off of Hogan's neck and challenged him to the title match. The nWo/Dungeon of Doom history behind Hogan and Show is lame and is no comparison.

Ill-conceived, yes... but Hawk, still retarded.

Except they have covered their (kayfabe) history over the years of Hogan discovering Show at a basketball game and have constantly been aligned with each other dating back to the nWo. It's not like their history is meaningless.

Since using Hogan is probably a must for Vince, TBS was the best option to use in place for such a historic event especially given the circumstances of the situation.

The real point is that Hogan is over 10 years past his prime, and it's pathetic that WWE would have to resort to using him as a draw at this point.

One could argue that with alot of other sport stars whom are still used to draw a crowd or actors whom rely on their name value to draw a BO instead of the quality of their performence.

If people still want to see Hogan, why would Vince throw away that cash cow?

People are going to buy WrestleMania.

Big Show / Sabu could main event it and people would still buy it.

RVD and Stevie Richards could go on and the fans would buy.

Guys, it's Wrestlemania.

The buy rate for Wrestlemania 19 would seem to dispute that theory. Yes, there will be a set number of people who will buy Wrestlemania no matter what, but you'll get a larger number of buys by putting on matches that a greater number of people will pay to see.

Wrestlemania 19 only got a low buyrate because it was in Seattle. And because of the War in Iraq. And because of the popularity of Spongebob. And people didn't buy Booker T as a credible challenger. And Fabolous got arrested and couldn't do his freestyle battle with Cena. And Angle was a bad heel. And Lesnar wasn't ready. And they didn't promote Hulk/Vince enough. What are you HTQ, a mark?

How come no one has posted "OMG BIG SHOW VS JOE IN TNA" or something yet?

Because we all understand that Show is leaving because he physically can't handle wrestling anymore.

Nobody's made a joke here yet?

1. What is wrong with Seattle?

2. Booker T was a credible challenger until HHH buried the hell out of him.

3. Your being really sarcastic aren't you?

Guess Hogan's out of a match at Wrestlemania since Austin still refuses to work with him, Angle's in TNA, Big Show's gone, and Cena is most likely defending the WWE Championship.

Hogan's not out of a match. They'll make something work. Cena is more likely NOT to be defending the title. That's almost assured to be HHH/Edge(or Orton, whomever HHH chooses). However, Cena is basically placed with the leftover from RKO or Batista.

Let's see, he never had a good watchable match

There's a shocker.

What do you expect from Big Show? **** matches?

Him and Brock really worked really well together. I remember he had a pretty good match with HHH in the Road to WM tourney.

Yeah, TBS was good when he had something to work with. Andre never had great snowflake classics but he rarely gets that "lazy" tag. Most people just dont seem to get that a 7'0 500 lb'er isn't going to work like Samoa Joe or Kurt Angle.

Calling TBS lazy is probably one of the most idiotic things you can say considering how often he takes unprotected bumps and chair shots with his size and condition.

Because the man is 7 ft. tall he should get special consideration? Since when taking a chairshot equals a good worker? I know the man is a giant but so is a guy like the Undertaker (5'11") and he really busts his ass when he wants to, Show was lazy in the ring with guys that could make anyone look good and never did anything in or outside the ring to entertain me. Andre was 10 times better than Show because he was an entertaining wrestler without being a great worker.

Ummmm yea. He's 7 ft tall!! Choken's point was that he wasn't lazy because he was willing to take unprotected chair shots, bleed and do bumps to get over.

And he's had some entertaining matches. The guy's not going to do crazy moves b/c a) He'd probably get very hurt and b) He realy doesn't need to

I'm a bit stunned too. It's a great set-up. Maybe no one wanted to make the easy lay-up?

Exactly. There's ZERO CHANCE of Show going to TNA

Big Show is looked at by his fellow wrestlers as very lazy. In 1999 he got liposuction prior to coming to the WWF because he was too lazy to lose the weight the hard way. He gained all that back due to his poor diet and non-existant workout skills. Meltzer and Keller have reported for years that Show would eat fast food all day everyday, smoke 2 packs of cigs a day, and not work on his cardio at all. This has been the case since 97, before the injuries. Show has been sent down to OVW by Vince personally to lose weight, and he just came back heavier, and WWE didn't want him fatter, because they saw more value in him as a agile giant not the sloth he has become.

What does a big bastard like Show do with the rest of his life? There are only so many acting roles for freaks and giants.

Exactly. Given his comedic timing, presence and ability to be funny, he does have quite the potential post-wrestling avenue ahead for him.

I could totally see him doing a DWTS type show and having great success with that. Big men are always in demand especially ones who can act and TBS can do just that.
