Aero 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2006 Credit: SFC Bradley E. Scott & PWTorch.com I am a soldier stationed at Camp Victory, Iraq. I just attended the Tribute to the Troops taping. Great show. Here are the match results: (1) John Cena defeated Edge (non-title) (2) C.M. Punk defeated Shelton Benjamin. (3) Undertaker defeated Johnny Nitro (w/Melina). (4) Bobby Lashley defeated Hardcore Holly (non-title) (5) Umaga defeated Jeff Hardy (6) Carlito defeated Randy Orton. Torrie, Maria and Krystal were introduced as Santa's helpers and handed out gifts Chris Masters defeated Santa Claus (JBL) in the Masterlock Challenge. After the show Armed Forces Network presented WWE with a Humanitarian Award for all they do with the military. Vince McMahon accepted the award and then presented it to JBL stating that the Tribute to the Troops was all his idea in the beginning. The superstars hung around and talked/took pictures with troops after the show. Looks like a decent show. I'm definitely interested in seeing Punk-Benjamin. Enigma 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2006 I'm assuming Umaga vs. Hardy was non-title as well.
Craig Th 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2006 (2) C.M. Punk defeated Shelton Benjamin. Ohh, this might be good.
Thanks for the Fish 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2006 Is this Undertaker's first trip over? It's interesting that he isn't in any of the Iraq photo's - Did he not go on the base tours or are they hiding pics to have a surprise appearance?? Benjamin vs Punk was the match that jumped out at me as well, though truth be told this show usually doesn't offer up much in terms of workrate.
Chazz 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2006 Is this Undertaker's first trip over? No. I can remember 'Taker facing off against Heidenreich on the Smackdown in Iraq show in '04.

The Niggardly King 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2006 Is this Undertaker's first trip over? No. I can remember 'Taker facing off against Heidenreich on the Smackdown in Iraq show in '04. Yeah, that had the great moment of Heidenreich breaking character and hugging every solider he could, and then a few minutes later he's trying to run from Taker, and they block him off. Ginger Snaps 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2006 (2) C.M. Punk defeated Shelton Benjamin. Ohh, this might be good. If this is all just one show, I don't know how good it will be, because with that many matches & segments this would probably only be like a three minute match. Thanks for the Fish 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2006 When is this show airing? Would they really air it on the 25th? Isn't the 18th show have a three hour timeslot?? Six matches, the Santa Masterlock Challenge and then the troop footage and possibly the award ceremony simply cannot fit into a two-hour show, given commercials and such. Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2006 Six matches, especially with how short several of them no doubt are (Umaga/Hardy and Lashley/Holly come to mind), not to mention the Masterlock crap doesn't take long, is easily fit in 2 hours.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2006 None of these matches are going to be very good, it's not like these guys are going to try to have a good match
Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2006 I don't know. I can't recall any really good matches from the past couple years. It has to be hard to put on a good match in that heat, and in such a unique environment like that.

UZI Suicide 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2006 I just ask because for all the heat RVD got for not going you'd think HBK and HHH would be there. Or are they filming more shows there?

HBK and HHH went on the other tours. I guess they weren't needed since it enough star-power without them or because they had stuff at home to take care of. HBK and HHH went on the other tours. I don't think they have. They weren't on the 2003 or 2004 tours. Unless they both were there for 2005, I don't think they've gone. I distinctly remember Shawn doing a interview for one of news network from Iraq, I believe last year. He got ignored for Candice, whom was posing in the background. Considering Shawn's beliefs and his family background, it'd be really unusual for him NOT to appear on these tours. Here's a picture of HHH at last year's show
