nl5xsk1 Posted December 14, 2006 Report Posted December 14, 2006 A match-up of a couple of Wild Card longshots ... Wild Card? Bitch, you're in the division hunt. I have a poor division record, a poor conference record, and I'm at .500. AND it took a 5 week winning streak to overcome a 1-5-1 start ... thus I'm still considering myself in the wild card hunt more than anything else. Bitch.

kkktookmybabyaway Posted December 15, 2006 Author Report Posted December 15, 2006 Deadline has come and gone for the Thursday games: SEA, DET, NYG didn't submit picks. There's a Saturday game now, too?
CanadianGuitarist Posted December 15, 2006 Report Posted December 15, 2006 I doubt I'll make the playoffs, but at least I'll have some good times on my way out. All three of us except for Verne are at 5-8....If Verne wins, loser of your game is out, and I'm in the same boat. If you two could tie, that would be ideal, I think.
CanadianChris Posted December 15, 2006 Report Posted December 15, 2006 There's a Saturday game every week for the rest of the season. There is no Thursday game in Week 17, though.

kkktookmybabyaway Posted December 16, 2006 Author Report Posted December 16, 2006 For the record, Kahran PM'd me his picks on Dec 13 2006, 06:13 PM, so put to rest any "copying" that went on with this matchup (I'm not accusing you of thinking that, mind you, because I know you're not; I just wanted to clear this up). This is the second or third time this has happened this season, and I don't know what to do in order to make these contests more competitive. When this contest was a straight-up pick 'em, these 1-2 matchup differences were much greater, hence the switch over to point spreads. You mentioned in a previous thread about adding over/unders, etc., which is a good idea and one I've thought of as well, but 1) it would take away from the spirit of actually picking games, in my opinion, and 2) I don't want everyone to have to pick a variety of other predictions every week that have nothing to do with which teams will win/cover the spread. Like I've said before, any ideas will be considered; that's why whenever I have an idea for this contest I like to put it up to a vote because I'd rather have thirty-three perspectives on the league than just one.
