bob_barron 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2007 Why are so many people obsessed with a TV network? Why are you so obsessed with Saturday Night Live? You do realize you're posting in the sports folder, right? Totally different. Instead of talking about the game or the playoffs, it seems like every response is ESPN hates this, no they hate that, no they've hated this since 2004. 2GOLD 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2007 So what are the chances the games tomorrow are good? I think the Jets vs Patriots has a great shot of being exciting but the Giants vs Eagles all depends on which Eli shows up.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2007 This is just the wild card round. It's not like most of the WC teams are worth a damn anyway, so it won't be the football equivalent of Rembrandt. And come to think of it every playoff game last year except one (Colts/Steelers) could be deemed unwatchable crap, and the one game that did fit the parameters of watchability gave the league the worst possible nightmare result, and led to 2 more clunker games (Denver AFC title game, Seattle Super Bowl). You know, I actually called Dallas fucking that up at the end there. Watching with my brother I mentioned "You know, the Cowboys are trying way too hard to get a FG here. I bet Gramatica misses this, or they botch the snap." As far as the Colts go, I'm not ready to read much into Manning's 3 INTs today since Ty Law was involved. Some guys just own other guys, and Ty Law OWNS Peyton Manning.

cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2007 I know. And the Pitt/Indy game gave the world the worst possible result and led to two crapathons to follow. Regardless of how anyone feels about the Colts, them vs. Seattle would have probably been an exciting, high scoring Super Bowl. I don't even think another playoff game last year was decided by less than 10 points.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2007 Drew Bledsoe would have hold the snap better, and T.O. will be on a different team next year, because Romo isn't good enough for him.

Bob Barron in the wrestling folder: "Why are so many people obsessed with the WWE?" Why don't both of you go away. It's a topic in the sports folder and ESPN is the most prominent sports network in the country. Criticism of their coverage (which has been well-deserved, in recent months) is Perfectly Acceptable Discussion here, just like criticisms of Fox News would be acceptable in the Current Events folder, etc.

Well, you know, I'm not sure if we should see each other anymore. Oh no, oh no, it's not you, Tony, it's just me. Yeah, we've just got so much going on in our careers right now and...yeah, it's okay. MrRant 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2007 I'd like to say that worst part of the game was the chanting by idiots of such creative things such as "Romo is a homo" and "T.O sucks balls." Get us some creativity.
Special K 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2007 Lucky bastard, Rant! I've never been to a Seahawks game live since Qwest went up. Were those chants widespread? I think I heard one song-song chant during the game on TV. As for Seattle "whothehellaretheys"? Come on. four straight playoff appearances, last year's Super Bowl and MVP. I guess they forgot to talk loads and loads of shit, and have good team chemistry. Borrring. Man their running game really needs to step it up, though. That Huthinson/Burlseson 'trade' really didn't go well.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted January 7, 2007 That Huthinson/Burlseson 'trade' really didn't go well. For either team, actually, as Minnesota didn't do too well with Hutchinson. It actually turned out better for Seattle since Burleson has turned into a good target for Hasselbeck when healthy.

It actually turned out better for Seattle since Burleson has turned into a good target for Hasselbeck when healthy. Well, Minnesota didn't do as well as I'd expected this season. HOwever, Hutchinson is fucking quality. Burleson is definitely a quality player, but $7 mil a year? I don't care if he's a homeboy or not, that was just a ridicilously asinine knee-jerk reaction. Not worth that at all. It was just made to cripple the Vikings after that bullshit 'poison pill' Hutchinson deal. Yeah, you sure stuck it to them management.
