CanadianChris Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 If I were the Saints, I would go into attack mode right now. Fuck a 3 point lead, with that defense, this is no time to be conservative and go for just kicking a field goal. And of course, I go and say that just as Fat Tony GuidoSiragusa says the exact opposite. I'd say they're not thinking about a FG, they want to run the clock right out.
Guest Vitamin X Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 Regardless, if they don't at least try taking some shots instead of running the clock out by running it up the middle over and over, they're going to set themselves up for being stopped in Eagles territory for a FG, which is going to lead to having a 6 point lead. And knowing that these are the Saints we're talking about here, I would hate to see something like a Jeff Garcia hail mary knock em out at the end of the game. Get a touchdown, and the game's iced.
Guest Vitamin X Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 GOD DAMN IT! YOU SEE WHAT I MEAN!
Guest "Go, Mordecai!" Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 I guess only the Saints can stop the Saints. Well, ruh-roh, huh.
DMann2003 Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 Eagles aren't doing themselves any favors, they blew a gift. Should they go on 4th?
Edwin MacPhisto Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 This ref is so awesome. He milks every penalty for the ultimate dramatic effect.
razazteca Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 and the big 4th down play gets called back due to offsides.
Guest Vitamin X Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 And that's the ballgame! The New Orleans Saints are in the NFC Championship! And the NFC South is the first division in the NFL to send all its teams to the championship game since realignment in 2002.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 Dammit, another week of listening to all the bullshit about "God's Team". I'm so tired of hearing about New Orleans.
Guest Smues Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 Awesome. Both teams I wanted to win today won. If the Chargers and Seahawks can both somehow manage to win tomorrow I'll be fine with whoever wins the Superbowl, although I doubt that happens. The Saints in the NFC Championship game, wow. Just wow.
teke184 Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 The Saints get two monkeys off their back by going to their 1st NFC Conference Championship Game, as well as beating one of the teams that's historically beaten them in the playoffs. (They lost to the Eagles circa 1993. They've also lost to the Vikings twice (1987 and 2000), as well as Da Bears (1989?) and the Falcons (1991?)) Let's see if the Saints have to go marching to Soldier Field or if they get to stay at home...
The Robfather Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 Deuce is the man. Bush avoided being the goat of the game.
LaParkaMarka Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 This ref is so awesome. He milks every penalty for the ultimate dramatic effect. He always has. Easily the most entertaining ref in the league.
Hawk 34 Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 Dammit, another week of listening to all the bullshit about "God's Team". I'm so tired of hearing about New Orleans. I'll take it over "We don't get no respect" (even if ESPN never shuts up about Brady), "Peyton can't win in the post-season" or "Seattle? They have a football team?". It's a fun team to watch with good players and personalities and you're upset because of the hype? Every team will get hype. Be it natural or synthetic. I'd take the "God's Team" considering it really is a good story, much more so then the usual manufactured bullshit.
Spaceman Spiff Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 Eagles never should have punted after that false start penalty. But, hey, now I don't have to listen to endless praise about the team on local sports radio, so yay me.
Broward83 Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 Eagles never should have punted after that false start penalty. But, hey, now I don't have to listen to endless praise about the team on local sports radio, so yay me. So when does the hate on Garcia start.. or the fan to call up and spout "Koy would've won us the game.."?
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 At least now Donovan's momma can rest easy.
Spaceman Spiff Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 I don't think we'll hear any Garcia hate. If anything, people will be criticizing Reid for that punt.
bob_barron Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 This is the greatest day of my life
MFer Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 This day sucks for me. I can't stand the Colts. The Saints are just eh to me. There's a fair chance that both the Bears and Pats will win tomorrow, leaving me me with no teams to really root for. I mean the Saints story is nice and all, but I'm just not really that into them, especially with Reggie "Gale Sayers" Bush getting his nut sack licked by the media. Maybe I'll go with the Pats because of Brady. Hopefully LT and Co. can win the Super Bowl and make everything I just said a moot point (Seattle too but I'm not holding my breath).
Open the Muggy Gate Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 THE SAINTS ARE COMING! THE SAINTS ARE COMING! THE SAINTS ARE COMING! THE SAINTS ARE COMING!
Matt Young Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 After exactly ZERO entertaining games in this year's playoffs, we get that thrilling Saints victory. It made me feel great even though I have been alternating between spewing things out of my mouth and ass since early this afternoon. That was awesome.
bob_barron Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 THE SAINTS ARE COMING! THE SAINTS ARE COMING! THE SAINTS ARE COMING! THE SAINTS ARE COMING! I was screaming that after the game. WHO DAT WHO DAT WHO DAT.
