vivalaultra 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2007 The Astros finally win a game tonite against the Cards. Roy O was great, tossing a complete game 5-hit, 1-run effort in a 5 to 1 victory. Carlos Lee and Berkman hit homeruns and Biggio got his 2,936th hit of his career. Hopefully the offense will continue to be more similar to tonite than the previous 4 games. Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2007 Home run #589 for Slammin' Sammy, and 2 wins in a row over the Red Sox. The Rangers would be pretty good if they could find a way to never have to face the Angels & Vlad Guerrero ever again.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2007 Wild game in Rochester last night. http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...ottaaa_rocaaa_1 Brian Mazone gave up four unearned runs and Matt Garza gave up three unearned runs. Down 9-4, the Lynx scored 7 runs in the ninth inning. Rochester scored three in the bottom to win, helped by three walks from pitcher Kane Davis. Twins fans, don't sweat Garza's short outing. Managers in the IL have been using their pitchers in short outings due to the extreme cold.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2007 Two quick runs off Scott Olsen. He's a good pitcher but the Phillies have his number. Coming in, Olsen is 1-4 with a 5.53 ERA against the Phils.
devo 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2007 Back to back solo shots from Shawn Green and Ramon Castro of all people. 2-1 Mets in the top of the second.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2007 Hanley Ramirez is hurt. The Marlins really lack credible hitting talent if he's gone for any length of time.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2007 Marlins up 4-3. Really we would have been out of this with one run if Victorino started in right field today. (Of course Jayson Werth hit a big double on offense, in fairness.) I worry that Zach Segovia is really not a major league caliber pitcher. He's only in there because he's already on the 40-man roster.

EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2007 Carlos Ruiz pinch-hitting for Rod Barajas. This is a great sign that Manuel believes Ruiz can handle a starting job.
Precious Roy 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2007 I'm not watching the game or listening on the radio, so I'm trying to figure out why the fuck Andy Pettitte pitched an inning of relief today....
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2007 I'm not watching the game or listening on the radio, so I'm trying to figure out why the fuck Andy Pettitte pitched an inning of relief today.... The Yankees bullpen is basically dead on their feet from the starters not being able to go five innings. So Andy worked an inning almost as a warm-up for his Tuesday start. Additional spring training basically.
Guest Smues Report post Posted April 8, 2007 Braves win 3-2 to take sole possession of first place for at least a day, something they never had last year. So I'll enjoy it while it lasts.
vivalaultra 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2007 If the Astros are going to win 90 games this season (as per my prediction), they can't have very more 1-5 homestands.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2007 The Cardinals today scored more runs than in their first five games combined.
vivalaultra 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2007 Yeah, Brian Moehler and Brad Lidge v. 2.0 will do that for a club.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2007 O's top the Yankees 6-4 in a game where the Yankee's starter AGAIN failed to make it five innings. Rasner went 4 1/3 innings, allowing five runs on 8 hits with 2 homeruns allowed. Their bullpen is being really worked here in the opening week but they are doing a pretty good job. But that starting staff has got to be a concern with the way it's pitching right now.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2007 Chien-Ming Wang needs to come back soon. If he doesn't don't be surprised to see Clippard, or Hughes up sooner than later. Atleast the bullpen looks good, but if this continues, we won't have a bullpen by June.
Annabelle 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2007 in a year or two, even less, the devil rays are going to be absolutely stacked offensively. i don't know enough about their pitching, but just watching them hit the past 2 days has been impressive.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2007 They're already pretty offensively stacked. I expect them to trade Baldelli for some pitching. Everyone in their lineup can run too except their catchers.
HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2007 The D-Rays have a couple starters in Kazmir and Jamie Shields who are or should become pretty good. The big question is whether they can find depth in the rotation and get the bullpen figured out.

Mik 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2007 Hanley Ramirez is hurt. The Marlins really lack credible hitting talent if he's gone for any length of time. Thankfully the Chosen One is day-to-day and nothing worse. And I hope Jorge Julio gets outright released. The very second Taylor Tankersley comes off the DL.
