I think we are supposed to come up with our own endings or some shit. It looked like the whole family was going to get wacked right there.

Are we supposed tot hink that the guy that was sitting at the stool and went to the bathrrom at the end was gonna end up whacjing Tony? BEcause that's the impression I got.

Aww they should have done another season to continue to the Paulie vs. Cat feud.

As for the ending...I dunno. It seems to me Chase couldn't bring himself to kill off Tony.

Besides Phil Leotardo's death and the interaction between Paulie and the cat, that was a completely unsatisfying and disappointing finale. Not to mention the ending. Unbelievable. I sure hope Meadow finally parked the car correctly after all that buildup!

Just to be sure, we all got the same ending right? The last shot was Tony looking up when Meadow was running and right to black...right? I wasn't sure if my connection got lost or something. If that was the finish, I'm not that upset about it. I'm glad it wasn't a big dramatic conclusion. We know what will happen to Tony, anyways. If it was a "choose your own ending", I'm not pleased with that.

I choose to see it as, the family being together happy while we know Tony's headed to trial soon. We see that AJ finally finds what he wants to do in life, Meadow does the same with a life ahead of her. Carmella has her real estate deal going on...

Everyone pays far to much attention to the finish. I quite enjoyed this show.

I mean....has there ever been a show that you can say I was satisfied with that ending? Especially an HBO series?

Six Feet Under managed to do it.

Look, it's not that this episode didn't fulfill expectations. It was going to be very difficult to do that. It's the idea that it didn't even come close. They blew it all -- the Bobby/Sil whackings, the final meeting between Tony and Melfi -- last week in an amazing episode. They basically had nothing left for their last episode which is a shame.

I think the ending was Chase saying "Tony is going to die, but you (the audience) really don't want to see it, so remember the family in good times for one last moment"

I'm sad no one mentioned AJ mocking Livia. Ya know, the ending really did make sense if you try not to think of it as being a let-down when you're expecting dead bodies everywhere and multiple double turns.

The thing is, they did a good job making you think AJ, Tony, and Meadow was getting killed, but then they just didn't go all the way it seems. I was hoping Paulie became the Boss, but he became a bit of a bitch, and didn't even want the Aprile crew. Which has always been the most lucrative crew in the family, and it was the job he always wanted and was mad that he was looked over on, so many times. Tony had to basically force him to take it, and he wasn't even happy about finally gettimg the job. Is Sil dead? I'm pretty sure Carlo flipped. Who is the Boss of New York? Why would George give a fuck about "The little Pygmy thing in Jersey" and serve as a mediaor for Brookly and Jersey.

George benefits more by watching the 2 families kill eachother, or better yet he'd benefit more if he just picked up the scraps after Jersey lost the war, seeing as Brooklyn would take a huge hit in winning the war. George would also be able to put the muscle to Brooklyn while they try to rebuild after a meaningless war with Jersey. Butchie and Albie both looked like they were legit scared shitles of Tony, and that makes no sense seeing as Butchie has been trying to ush the ar since the end of Season 6 a. This was just confusing.

it's not like Meadow and AJ havent changed their minds before...at least Meadow had more stability

I don't get how you can be happy with a non dramatic ending when that's what was promoted

You're right Hawk, I did enjoy the show. I guess I wasn't ready for them to actually add a new storyline with Carlo, seeing as we'll never see how it played out. Then Pauile becoming so "soft" caught me of guard, and I really wanyted to see the "Guy in the Ice Cream parlor" and Tony have a confrontation of sorts, but I can live with the ending, but I'm just...I don't know.

I think they were setting up different endings with the creepy guy staring at Tony, Meadow and her parallel parking, et cetera. Anywho, I liked the episode. Phil got quite the death.

Someone posted this at another board so I cant take credit but something to ponder anyways:

The more I think about it, the more I realize that this was a great ending. Remember when Tony and Bobby where on the boat and and he asks "what do you think happens when you die?" and he replies, "nothing, it just goes black"

Tony is dead. Great ending.

I can see some people being happy with the ending. I might be happy with it, after watching it again. I think you really have to get the inside joke of the show.

One thing about the last scene, Tony walks into the diner with a jacket on, looks in and sees himself sitting at a table already. I'm going to watch the west coast feed just to see if he's wearing the same shirt at the table that he walked in with. Is it possible that whole scene was a dream? Is it possible Tony really was killed by the guy in the Member's Only jacket? Or is it possible Chris' soul was inside the cat and clawed Tony to death?

Yeah but that didn't show blood. So it's a shit ending, of course. That's exactly what happened. AJ made it obvious when he said something about remembering the good times. Tony's last image would be seeing Meadow. Seems only appros.

Hawk, the fact that there was no blood is not the point. There was no closure. There is no reason for ending a series finale on a cliffhanger. It's not brilliant. It's not ingenious. It's lazy writing. Chase couldn't come up with a satisfying ending on his own -- should I kill Tony or should I not omg i dunno -- so he suddenly "left it to the viewer" to make the decision on their own. I say it again: lazy writing. Oh and to have viewers think that their cable suddenly went out is a cheesy device as well.
