Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted June 26, 2007 anytime a wrestler dies, especially someone as popular as Benoit there should be a three day ban on threads about it so people can gain perspective. I'm a huge benoit fan and was upset but people are getting way too carried away with both the speculation and the "He was my hero" bs. Who are you to tell people how to grieve and what to say? RIP Benoit. i'm not saying they shouldn't grieve, I myself am grieving. However, people rushing to a messageboard and posting about it and making wild guesses about his death is silly. Enigma 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2007 WWE.Com is now saying it was a double murder/suicide. "It has been ruled that the deaths of Chris Benoit, his wife Nancy and their son Daniel earlier today were the result of a double murder-suicide from within the home. WWE.com will have more as soon as it becomes available."

Steve J. Rogers 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2007 I don't have enough heart to turn a blind eye to a murderer? For fuck's sake, do you hear yourself? "Silent but violent" Last one, I promise. No its just that at the stage where the public (that would be us) are just getting information trickling in from various outlets its hard to know for sure which is true and which is some BS. Yes signs are pointing towards Benoit being a murderer, but for crying out loud, Norm McDonald didn't start his OJ barrage the week of the murders.

Dogbert 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2007 I always wondered how the O.J. Simpson Fan Club reacted to the news on that day in 1994. I guess I know now. I don't even know what to say at this point. It's a horrible thing to have happen, of course, but if what they're saying is truthful... I don't think I could comment on it without getting banned. JimmyHendricks 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2007 Guys, just because this turned out even more tragic than we expected, just because Chris Benoit might be remembered for doing something unspeakable from now on, doesn't give anyone the right to suddenly make humorous remarks about it. It just seems that idiotic humorless attempts to be funny have popped up in the last half hour or so. I'm not a mod or anything, but please stop.

Just goes to show you what anyone is capable of. Why is that? He was good worker, is that why? He always shown a hot temper and while JBL played it off as cute, Benoit has a history of a short fuse. The LAST person I'd suspect would be Spike Dudley.
MixxMaster 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2007 from ABC news... There were no signs of gunshot wounds or stabbing, according to Pope. Authorities are not ruling out other causes, such as poisoning, suffocation or strangulation. Pope told ABC News that his department is looking at this situation as a "possible double murder, suicide." Pope said "the instruments of death were located on scene," but he would not specify what those instruments are or where in the house the bodies were found. Pope added the department is "not actively searching for any suspects outside of the house." An autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. However, it could be weeks before there is a result. FULL ARTICLE HERE
Steve J. Rogers 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2007 So I guess at the end of the day, Kevin Sullivan booked his wife's murder. WOW! Is it wrong that I chuckled at that? Not to veer too much off topic, and I know Chris and Sullivan hated each other till, well, today, (Hell Sullivan was the "final straw" that sent Benoit to the WWF) but I wonder if Kevin and Nancy "patched" things up? Craig Th 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2007 Because you know without a shadow of a doubt that Chris Benoit murdered his family in cold blood, right? Yeah, that's what I thought. Well, that is what multiple news sites are saying. It seems like he did it. wikipedia also said it was Benoit that did it(killed his wife and son), so unless a new source actually says so, I won't believe it. Guy, I can post that an alien killed Benoit on Wiki. And NO ONE is going to get banned or suspended about the Benoit comments. I don't want to censor anybody and every one can say what they want about it. Besides, if it's true that he did kill Nancy and Daniel, then I'll be on the anti-Benoit side. WukenBloodstar 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2007 Mole: Fuck yourself. From abc news: Wrestling star Chris Benoit, his wife, Nancy, and their 7-year-old son, Daniel, were found dead in their suburban Atlanta home Monday. The deaths are being investigated as a possible suicide and double homicide, authorities told ABC News. Lt. Tommy Pope of the Fayette County Sheriff's Department told ABC News that Benoit had missed several appointments over the weekend, leading concerned parties to ask police to do a "welfare check." When sheriffs arrived at the Benoits' home, they found the wrestler, his wife and their son dead. Benoit, 40, was scheduled to spar against C.M. Punk in a pay-per-view event Sunday night in Houston for the Extreme Champion Wrestling title. But Benoit canceled before the event, citing personal reasons. A native of Edmonton, Alberta, Benoit was known in the ring as the "Canadian Crippler." Following the announcement of the deaths, World Wrestling Entertainment issued a statement: "Chris was beloved among his fellow superstars, and was a favorite among WWE fans for his unbelievable athleticism and wrestling ability. He always took great pride in his performance, and always showed respect for the business he loved, for his peers and toward his fans. This is a terrible tragedy and an unbearable loss. WWE extends its sincere condolences and prayers to the Benoit family and loved ones in this time of tragedy." WWE announced that it would drop its planned Monday night line-up on the USA Network to air a three-hour tribute to Benoit. In a sport known for bravado and bullying, Benoit was very much beloved and respected by his peers. He was passionate about his profession and served as a mentor to many younger, up-and-coming performers. As an indication of how much the fans enjoyed him, when the crowd in Houston's Toyota Center learned Sunday night that he wouldn't be there, they chanted, "We want Benoit!" Benoit's wife was also in the wrestling business as a valet and manager. She was known as "Woman." The two met while they both worked for the now-defunct World Championship Wrestling, which was owned by Ted Turner until Vince McMahon's WWE bought it out.
