Guest Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 I wasn't justifying it. I said that one could, but me, no. The guy was a disgusting human being, simple as that.
Your Paragon of Virtue Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 The fightnetwork radio stream is as good as anything. You get Bryan Alvarez among other pro wrestling heads to give you insight, pulling no punches. If you're interested at all in this case, LISTEN NOW.
LJSexay Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 he asphyxiated on the cords of his weight machine. Jesus Christ.
Bruiser Chong Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 Why are some of you people justifying Benoit killing his wife if she cheated on him but saying that killing his child is so despicable? It doesn't matter the circumstances or who it was done to; murder is never justified. Unless you have a mental illness, it would seem.
dubq Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 Why are some of you people justifying Benoit killing his wife if she cheated on him but saying that killing his child is so despicable? It doesn't matter the circumstances or who it was done to; murder is never justified. Â I think he was giving it as an example as to why Benoit could've snapped and killed his wife. Cheating could be an excuse to him. Killing your kid? No justifiable excuse, even to a murderer, so there has to be some sort of mental deviation going on here. Â The problem with this place is that people take everything said too literally. How about thinking about context before pulling the trigger?
AntiLeaf33 Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 They sure do want to milk the steroids, don't they? Â I can't believe he fucking tied Nancy up. Â Maybe with the bible's by their bodies, he was trying to ask for forgiveness, or wanted to make sure they were taken care of in the after life? Maybe?
Gary Floyd Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 Benoit, I will always love your matches, but seriously, fuck you man.
JimmyHendricks Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 Can we go ahead and say that this is the biggest story involving Professional Wrestling, ever?
Superfly Snuka Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 Well, at least we can put to rest the silly notion that benoit was watching Vengeance with his son and smothered him soon after it. Benoit, it seemsthey said, died sometime Sunday morning at the latest.
vivalaultra Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 The timeline given in the conference is slightly different than the one that was given before, huh? They're saying now, Nancy was killed Friday, Daniel Saturday, and Benoit hanged himself later Saturday or Sunday morning.
Prophet of Mike Zagurski Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 I never could have imagined Benoit doing this.
The Robfather Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 Shepard Smith is great at recapping this.
J.B. Buzzkill Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 Were there any signs of a break in by an intruder? Â I know I'm reaching, but this is just reprehensible.
Guest joshtothemaxx Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 Amazing how in less than 48 hours I went from loving the guy, to being annoyed that I didn't get to see him wrestle Punk, to mourning for him, and then finally, to absolute disgust. There's nothing else to say really.

It doesn't matter the circumstances or who it was done to; murder is never justified. Unless you have a mental illness, it would seem. Â It's not a justification, but it's a possible REASON. There is a fucking difference or are you too busy attempting to be witty that you fail to realize that? Â I hope that you never have to deal with a family member or a loved one who suffers from a severe mental illness. Or maybe if you did, you'd realize it wasn't so fucking cut and dry as to why they do the things they do.
Celtic Guardian Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 Can we go ahead and say that this is the biggest story involving Professional Wrestling, ever? Â If this doesn't bring on Congressional hearings into the industry, then nothing will do it.
RonL21 Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 How in the Hell can you expect them to put on two shows tonight...Seriously  Much less expect people to be in the mood to even show up to watch it  *edit* I wouldnt be surprised if the wrestlers wouldnt even bother competing...I doubt they'd have the stomach to
vivalaultra Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 The saddest part (well, one of the saddest parts) was hearing that there weren't any signs of a struggle by Nancy or Daniel.
JimmyHendricks Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 The text(s) that he sent to (Chavo?) weren't received until much after they were sent, they said. I bet he said what he had done, and that's what set off all the alarms.
Vampiro69 Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 I never knew that Benoit was arrested for DUI.
LJSexay Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 so hard to come to grips that this is real. The new details they gave out really just made this whole thing feel so much worse, sadder and puzzling.
Guest Soul_Assassin Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 Amazing how in less than 48 hours I went from loving the guy, to being annoyed that I didn't get to see him wrestle Punk, to mourning for him, and then finally, to absolute disgust. There's nothing else to say really. Â I am with you right there...talk about running the full gamut of emotion.
Ultra Violence Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 Maybe the thread title should be changed to Chris Benoit kills family then self. I think it should be moved to classics when everything dies down so it's always there as a reminder.
LaParkaMarka Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 Tying her up is pretty bad. This wasn't some heat of the moment thing, or an accident.
The Robfather Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 I don't give a damn about his matches. I can't ever watch them again. Â Come on. Some things are too evil to forgive. Â Â
Youth N Asia Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 The bibles thing creeps me out. And the reporters stretching for info was annoying "Were the bibles open? Were they identical?"
Superfly Snuka Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 Whether it's roid rage or not, we know one thing for sure: the WWE wellness program/testing is a crock.
LooseCannon25 Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 I hope that piece of shit rots in hell. I guess thats what they meant with the "bizarre" details. Good lord. Â 1) The guy tied of Nancy on the wrists and feet, and there was blood on her head. Â 2) He placed bibles next to the bodies. Â Â What a sick fuck.
JimmyHendricks Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 As much as I hate FOX News, Shepard Smith and the people he is talking to are fantastic, because they are slipping in personal opinions here and there. It's better than straignt news reporting.
