    • John Cena

    • Randy Orton
      78

Can they just give the belt to the McMahon bastard already? Cena and Orton had their time with the belt getting the "mixed reactions" so let's just give it to someone new.

Cena has taken out all adversaries in his was (Umaga, Shawn Michaels, Khali, Lashley) but can he really defeat The Legend Killer, can Orton kill the Legendary Reign of John Cena; Or will Cena overcome the Odds Yet again and add the Legend Killer to his belt of fallen foes...

My Pick: Randy Orton Wins.........Cleanly (Just like with Benoit)

I Think this will be a short match and will be straight to the point... FU, Counter, RKO, Counter, STFU, Ropes, FU, RKO 1.2.3......

And Then When Batista comes out with his newly won World Heavyweight title and congratulates Orton and HHH and Flair come out to celebrate that the Futures of Evolution are wearing the gold! (A Man can Dream Can He?)

It be cool if Edge came out and did a promo with Orton saying how Edge beat Cena last year and Edge will give his former Tag Team Partner pointers...

I honestly don't see how there are those that still want to keep Cena as champion. The same tired act for the past year has gotten more than stale, and even though Orton is a complete shit-brick, we really need something new. I'm pulling for Orton to win.

On the flip-side I don't see how there are those that wants Orton as the champion. Just because Orton kicks people in the heads doesn't make him a great champion. Combine that with the fact no one can really trust him to stay out of the headlines for trashing hotel rooms or smoking pot backstage in front of fans or messing with divas' bags or so forth, combine that with the idea that he'd be the champion, it'd be worse. I don't even think people backstage has changed their opinions on Orton that much (they hated him at one point), so to put the belt on him makes no real sense. I'd hold off the switch until after Unforgiven, since that's when HHH will be free to run a program, and Cena gets his one year reign. But don't let the idea of having a good publicity-getting champion deter you guys from wanting to put the belt on one of the worst human beings on the roster because his "head kicking" gimmick is "entertaining".

Yeah Kickin heads dont a champion make but c'mon, spare me your deadly fireman's carry and horribly executed STF! It is time to freshen things up and i dont believe HHH will win the title anytime soon... by backlash all i heard was HHH is gonna face Cena as soon s he gets back and beat him (unaware that if you return from injury, you have to work your way up...) Yeah Orton was ad a year ago... but he mustve cleaned up his act in order to get the main event at Summerslam...

But to quote the Late Great Owen Hart, "Enough is Enough, and it's Time for a Change!"

Worst human beings on the roster?

I don't recall him threatening to rape rookies in shower, stealing his friend's girlfreind or happily exploiting his best freind's death. And if Austin's neck was okay, no one would have a problem putting the world title on him. Face it, that whole roster is full of people that have done some morally dubious stuff.

You could even argue Randy's not even as bad as Edge or Stone Cold because most of the stuff he did wasn't malicious and didn't hurt anyone (filling a girl's bag with shower gel is retarded but it's not really bad or anything). If he gets caught beating up his girlfreind, then I'll agree. But hotel room trashing is a victimless crime. Unless your the person using it after him.

yes its not as bad but he just had the mentality of: whatever my father did, i can do too... and he screwed up so many times due to immature acts..... he couldve won the battle royal when Batista vacated and Win at WM 22 but with his attitude it didnt come to be.. Yeah he isnt horrible but his immaturity costs him... unfortunatly

But somehow Orton draws the ire of guys like Ric Flair, Kurt Angle, even Triple H. He must be doing something worse than the others you name.

Why the fuck do any of you care whether or not Orton can be trusted as the main guy in the company? Stop acting like it will be terrible for you if he fucks up again. YOU DON'T WORK FOR WWE. It has no impact on you whatsoever if Orton is an immature douchebag backstage. All that should matter is his in-ring character. He should get the title because there isn't really anybody else right now, and it needs to come off of Cena.

And secondly, for those of you who want Cena to get the 1 year reign..why the hell does it matter whether or not he makes it a year? Title reign lengths mean nothing..all that matters is what the champion does in those months. And besides, are all of you forgetting that he's held the title for something like 25 of the past 28 months? It doesn't matter that 12 of them weren't in a row.

I think people were pissed when Austin beat up Debra. And I'm sure they weren't happy about JBL deciding Germany was the best place to do a Hitler tribute.

I don't have a problem with people saying Orton's immature. But I do have a problem with people looking down their nose at him and calling him the biggest asshole in wrestling, conveniently forgetting they cheer their heads off whenever stone cold comes out and laugh at everything JBL does. Both of whom have done far more vile and unforgivable things than he ever has.

Because some of the bigger WWE fans might not like it if the face of the company decides to throw another tantrum that gets the company more bad press. It's not as if the company needs help with that right now.

Stop acting like it will be terrible for you if he fucks up again. YOU DON'T WORK FOR WWE.

No, they're just fans of the company and would rather they not get anymore bad press than they've already got.

It has no impact on you whatsoever if Orton is an immature douchebag backstage.

You do realize that backstage nonsense can, and usually does, carry over into the on-screen product, right? Which in turn can dampen the quality and enjoyment of the product. What if they put the belt on Orton and he decides to screw up again and they decide to keep with the reliable Cena for another year or so? I'd say that would impact on people.

All that should matter is his in-ring character.

That's incredibly shortsighted. If the best in-ring character on the roster has behavioral issues, it's a risk to put them in a position that requires impeccable behavior. Granted, Orton seems to have calmed down now, but I wouldn't chance it with him just yet.

He should get the title because there isn't really anybody else right now

Well, that's always a good reason to put a title on somebody(!)

and it needs to come off of Cena.

It probably does, but I'd rather it go to Triple H than Orton.

why the hell does it matter whether or not he makes it a year?

Because it would be a major milestone and something historic at a time when such feats are rarely achieved?

Cena. I want the one year reign. Also, whats with people saying Cena gets no reaction/forced down the fans throats/fans are tired of him? Every time I watch RAW, when John Cena comes out he gets the biggest pop out of anyone currently wrestling for WWE.

You should also know that the WWE Champion is all about moving merchandise. If Cena's stuff is selling like hotcakes why get rid of the reign?

Jake Roberts was never champ because he was around in the Hogan era. Now I'm not saying he would have been champ for sure, but he's another guy in a long line of fellas that could have been champ if it weren't for big Orange. He was certainly over enough to warrant at least a transitional run.

Well, of course, he was a big fuck up off camera, but that's a different topic.

Can somebody please merge this with the my Cena / Orton thread?

Because I think it would be cool if somebody broke Nash's record since I don't see Cena being WWE Champion for 3 years + straight.

I'll have to go with Orton. Nothing against Cena, but he's become really stale on RAW as the Champ, and as a result, the show is getting pretty bland. Orton as Champ could be a shake up that RAW needs so badly.

In all fairness to Cena, his programs with Umaga and Shawn Michaels were fun, so it's not like this year has been totally shitty and boring for him. The program with lashley could have been better than it was.

I would like to see Orton win for one main reason, it's been said on this board many times and I'm surprised no one brought it up yet, having Cena chase the Title would be better for his character right now. Orton wins and we get a couple of months of Cena chasing the title. Once HHH is through with his feuds with Booker and the bastard child of Vince he moves on to Orton and Cena moves on to fight someone for the #1 contender. HHH beats Orton and Cena wins the #1 contender setting up HHH vs. Cena.

The last few RAW's that I have watched have been nothing but mixed reactions for Cena. All I can hear are little kids/girls screaming for him, and then a lot of boo's coming from an older crowd (i'm assuming)

Unless the audio on my television is completely fucked, there is no way you can sit there and tell me Cena has been getting OMG HUGE pops.

Triple H got a bigger pop when his picture was shown promoting his match with King Booker @ SummerSlam.

Dead crowds come alive for Cena's matches. Whether he's being bood or cheered, his reaction is always the loudest, barring special appearances or returns. I want to see someone new myself, but you can't deny Cena deserves his spot. He's the most over guy and, to be honest, its not close.

For the sake of edification, would you please define "older crowd?" Because I like Cena, and I'm pretty old, for a wrestling fan... All my friends that are my age and still into wrestling like Cena, too...

I'd say the older crowd is 18+, plus maybe half of the guys 16+.
