Has potential to be a decent PPV, but nothing overly special. Batista/ Khali has got to be short. Cena and Orton should be decent as they both work the typical WWE style, so there really shouldn't be any weird clashings of style here. Return matches usually aren't anything too special, so I don't expect a hell of a lot from either one. The ECW match has potential as the guys are at least familiar with each other.

This is a funny PPV for me. I WANT to watch it because I enjoy watching PPVs and I'm still a mark for always seeing Rumbles, Manias, SummerSlams, and Survivor Series. The flip side of this is no one I know think's they'll be available Sunday night and even if we were to watch it, nothing on this card is making us excited about it. Rey/Chavo will be good but we saw it 20 times last year. Punk/Morrison could be good but it was pretty underwhelming at Vengeance and I haven't seen any of their TV matches since. Cena vs Orton will probably see the internet's two favourite wrestlers work hard and gel well enough to deliver a solid match but it doesn't really matter who wins.

Orton standing tall to end Raw made me nervous about the end of this match. I think Punk will definitely win and I would have to think Batista HAS to finally win. He has had so many damn title matches since last SS and lost that he needs a win pretty badly I would think. So, question is...do they switch all 3 major titles?

I've been trying to figure out how I'm gonna get Summerslam..classes start Monday for me and I can't order pay per views at school, so I'd have to get back there either late Sunday night or early Monday morning (I can't have a car on campus yet). It's a 40 minute drive from my house, and my friend who goes to school with me thinks he's found someone that would drive us back, but after seeing Orton celebrating at the end of Raw, I'm not even going to try anymore to get this PPV. Sure I want to see Punk/Morrison, but the only reason I was gonna go through the hassle of coming home for 5 hours on my 2nd night of school was to see Orton beat Cena, which now won't happen.

They could at least bring up the fact both are fighting over the title of former King of the Rings. They can unify the 1997 and 2006 titles to give it one UNDISPUTED KING OF THE RING. King Haku or King Harley Race can be the special ref with King Big Daddy V and special enforcer.

 

Anyways, as for the match, HHH over Booker via Pedigree after Booker tries to hit HHH with his crown and misses. BTW,

 

Cena vs. Orton

 

Well, this is a tough call. But I'm gonna go against the grain and say Cena retains. I've gotten conformed to him winning every title match the last year so I fully don't expect him to lose.

 

The Great Khali vs. Batista

 

Batista wins via spinebuster. If he could Batista bomb Khali that would be an holy shit moment, but it'll probably be a quick 8 minute match.

 

Mysterio vs. Guererro

 

Mysterio gets the win. Nothing really more than just a return feud and to get Rey ready for other things.

 

Morrison vs. Punk

 

Morrison loses on TV, Punk FINALLY wins the ECW title.

 

Kennedy vs. Umaga vs. Carlito

 

I say Kennedy gets the win here. If they want to build him up, give him the IC title. I think he needs a belt at this point. Just my opinion though.

 

Divas battle royal.

 

No idea what the concept for this match is or if it is even for the Women's title. I guess it's your TNA match of the night.

I still remember laughing hysterically last year when Booker was facing Batista and at a contract signing on Smackdown! when Batista told him something Booker got up in his face and yelled "BALDERDASH!"

 

Booker totally OWNED Batista on the mic that night and it didn't look like Batista was taking it too kindly.

 

Regretably, though, Booker is gonna lose to HHH this time which sucks since Booker has had to do the HBK thing when he feuded with Hogan in building the feud up himself. I swear, though, if HHH tries to do the Pedigree of infinite doom to Booker this time Booker should just kick out.

My picks:

 

Cena vs. Orton: This is very tough to call. I picked Cena on the poll elsewhere so I'll stick with that pick because I'm at least just apathetic towards Cena's title run. An Orton title run would make me outright hostile.

 

Batista vs. Khali: Gotta have some sort of title change on this show and the less of Khali as champ, the better. I wish it was a Punjabi Prison match though, at least that would be amusing.

 

Punk vs. Morrison: Hard to figure this since both guys have jobbed to the other leading to the PPV. I think this will be a bullshit finish, double DQ or whatever. They can't just job Punk on a 3rd PPV in a row, yet will they job out Morrison? I think gimmick match in Sept.

 

HHH vs. Booker: It's so obvious HHH is going to squash Booker that they might do shock booking and have Booker win here only to have HHH crush him later. With that said, HHH is going to win here.

 

Rey vs. Chavo: Rey needs this one more than HHH actually, since he got maimed by Chavo last year and needs the win back. Rey wins.

 

Kennedy vs. Carlito vs. Umaga. Umaga has zero point holding the IC belt and Carlito is a jobber extroidinare. Kennedy is in line for the push, so he's winning by pinning Carly.

 

Diva battle royale: Beth Phoenix will win and steamroll Candice for the title soon after if they are smart. Gotta be a heel chick that wins here.
