Lil' Bitch Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 Are these guys suspended or released?
Mike wanna be Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 Vince dressed like a clown. He'd fit right in with the jackasses in congress. Those clowns in Congress have done it again. What a bunch of clowns. Doink the Congressman?
HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 An interesting note from this weeks Observer that might give an indication as to how much money people being suspended are missing out on. When Jeff Hardy was suspended for 30-days, it's estimated that he lost around $100,000 through missing out on his house show money, his downside guarantee and the PPV payoff he would have got for Summerslam. So wait, Jeff Hardy is making 1.2 million a year??!! Probably a little less than that, but it would depend on if the houses were good, how well the PPV's draw and if he's on them and in a good position on the card. I'm guessing for 2007 he's making a high six-figure income, at least. This is Jeff Hardy. He's been one of the highest merchandise sellers for both TNA and WWE for the past 7 years. I'm pretty sure he makes more than 1.2 a year.

That's getting into Cena/Undertaker/HHH territory.
Atticus Chaos Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 I read that all WWE wrestlers only get something like 3-5% of the profit from their merchandise (depending on their status on the card). If your someone like Rey or Cena, that's still a lot of money. But I don't think most mid card acts are relying on merchandise money to make a living.
Hawk 34 Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 Is Matt still working off the big contract he suckered WWE into by threatening to go to TNA?

Superfly Snuka Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 CONGRESSMAN STEARNS TRASHES REPORT SENT BY WWE, SAYS WELLNESS POLICY NOT "WORTH A FLIP" In a stiff blow to WWE, Congressman Cliff Stearns said the government turning up all of these drug purchases from an online pharmacy tells him that "WWE does not have a drug policy that's worth a flip." He said that WWE didn't catch them, a district attorney in Albany, N.Y. investigated and found them. He also said he wonders what other online pharmacies might have other WWE customers. He said he wants more details on how WWE's testing policy actually works. "We asked them for their testing information; what they came back with was not sufficient," Stearns said. "We do not have a copy (of the actual testing policy). We didn't understand whether it was random, what the threshold (level for drugs) was, whether any of these wrestlers were getting post-dated prescriptions after the fact." He said he believes he now has their attention. Plans are going forth to hold hearings on Capital Hill later this month or early in October. Anyone else find it odd that Congress et al. aren't going after professional bodybuilders like Jay Cutler, Ronnie Coleman, etc. who eat oodles and oodles of steroids...blatantly? I'd love for Gov. Schwarzengger to take a stand against roids.

They are going after WWE, not Randy Orton and Edge. Bodybuilders aren't dropping dead at a disturbing rate.

Thanks for the Fish Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 Speaking of merchandise...
Vigo Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 Speaking of merchandise... A decent shirt ruined by the excessive text on the back.
Hawk 34 Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 I actually thought that was Edge at first on the front (the hair, chin and the star) but as far as shirts go, that isn't the worst. In fact, the back isn't all to bothersome. They can't do any worse then the newest Punk shirt, which is a shame since he is the easiest guy to make a shirt for.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 Why is WWE making shirts with the Green Goblin spray painted gold on them?

Spaceman Spiff Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 I posted that shirt in the August Discussion thread.
chuck415 Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 WWE is a public company that is supposedly allowing its employee's to partake in illegal and deadly activity. They are going after WWE, not Randy Orton and Edge. Bodybuilders aren't dropping dead at a disturbing rate. That is an interesting point. I think we can all agree that the majority of big time bodybuilders have or are using steroids, and yet there aren't nearly as many deaths.(That I know of.) So maybe it is the mixture of steroids with painkillers, or the abuse of painkillers, that congress and the WWE should really concern themselves with. Just a thought.
Scroby Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 Speaking of merchandise... Umm...why did you post that here in this thread?

They are going after WWE, not Randy Orton and Edge. Bodybuilders aren't dropping dead at a disturbing rate. Exactly. This is the same point Ultimate Warrior made when he was on Hannity & Colmes. You don't see the huge bodybuilders from the 70s dropping dead. They are all in their late-50s now and are healthy. It's the steroids mixed in with the destructive lifestyles that leads to wrestlers dying in their 40s. When you mix steroids with pain killer addiction, excessive alcohol consumption, and recreational drugs, you're on a path of destruction. Now that's not to say that steroids on their own aren't harmful on their own. They are. Look at NFL player Lyle Alzaldo from the 80s. He died of brain cancer that doctors said was likely a byproduct of heavy, heavy steroid use. But everyone doesn't get cancer. Warrior shamelessly admitted that he took steroids until 1991, but he is in perfect health today because he never lead a destructive lifestyle with pain killers, alcohol, or drugs outside of the steroids. The reason why everyone drops dead is because a very high percentage of people do.
Bix Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 Warrior was full of shit, tons of bodybuilders have had major heart problems.
The Niggardly King Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 Yeah, most of the bodybuilders to have problems, but since they're not bumping around and most of them weren't doing anything other than booze, roids, and weed they're living a bit better than wrestlers.
Thanks for the Fish Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 Speaking of merchandise... Umm...why did you post that here in this thread? Because it just noticed it for sale and the Jeff Hardy's merchandise takehome was being discussed. Just going with the flow of the discussion is all...
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 Yes... posting a picture of a shirt for two guys not even being discussed here, when the "merch" discussion is not even the main storyline of the thread... that's flowing with the thread.

So why didn't the thread police go after the first digression away from the ten suspended wrestlers?? I probably thought I was in the "general discussion/comments that don't warrant a thread" thread given the nature of the discussion before my heinous initial offering in this thread...
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 I'm just busting your chops. I don't really care either way.

Hawk 34 Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 Speaking of merchandise... Im blind...who's shirt is this? Londrick. The names and the "LK" are on the upper part of the back.
Matt Young Posted September 5, 2007 Report Posted September 5, 2007 Ok, I've waited 10 pages. What the hell is "Sexy Phun Girls"?
