WWE General Discussion - October 2007

Recommended Posts

It wastes time because he is feuding with Ron Simmons, Val Venis and Steve Austin - Two are long retired and Venis hasn't been pushed in years.

That should really change. Val needs a push.

Agreed Val seems like a guy that everyone loves to boot. Not giving him anything to do just boggles my mind.

Well I think they should get someone nobody cares about to play that roll and let Val at least win the IC title again, hell I'll settle for the Tag titles.

No, no he doesn't.

Yes, Val is a good worker, but he's very vanilla and bland in the ring. The whole porn star gimmick was dead seven years ago. Why they brought it back, I don't know. Val also doesn't have a very good look at this point, frankly.

I'm fine with WWE keeping him around to play a Tito Santana type role, but there are so many guys ahead of Morley that they should be pushing, it would be pointless to give him even a mid-card program at this point. It's nothing to get upset about, it's just the natural cycle of wrestling as a sport and business.

Val's role is to make the other guy look good. If no one cares about Val, no one cares about the other guy beating him.

Exactly. Val is fine in his role now. He gets the "Hey, I remember this guy from when wrestling was really cool" pop, does his token moves, and jobs in convincing fashion.

Damn wrestling unpopularity. I want to check out that special 500th edition of WWE Magazine but no convenience store I walk in has it. I know the 7-11s probably have it but I generally need to go out of my way for a stop there.

8 posts talking about Val and nobody's typed *it* yet. That's got to be a record, surely.

I agree with those who've said he's fine in the Tito Santana role, except Tito actually got televised wins and a small push now and then. Val's got nothing. He's barely got the nostalgia reactions now. If he's being used in the role of making other people look good, he still needs to have some sort of credibility to make a victory over him mean something. It may be that he's long past that, unfortunately.

Anyway, does anyone else here keep up with Heat? The past few weeks, they've been building up Super Crazy and Hacksaw Duggan as a tag team. Their shtick is, Hacksaw says 'HO!' and then tries to get Crazy to say it, only for him to say 'SI!' And then they do it again. And again. And again. And then, once the crowd have lost the will to live, the match starts. Crazy really got injured at the worst possible time.

I got mine at waldenbooks, anyhow no biggee, its not as cool as it sounds(its not like it has straight reposts of old articles) and has way too many pics and stories about recent wwe history

I've never understood why people call him "Hacksaw Duggan".

"Hacksaw" is just one of those old school "tough guy" nicknames. I believe there was an NFL player in the '70s with that same nickname.

I agree that Val may as well get a win once in a while, I'm just not interested in seeing him get a prolonged push or title reign out of it.

And as far as no one saying *it* about Val, that is good, because it wasn't funny to begin with.

Noted. I actually don't think it's even out in Canada yet, or at least not here (I remember when for some reason we used to get magazines 5 days before the US, but not anymore). I was at a book store today for an unrelated matter and they only had the "Fall Preview" and Undertaker cover WWE mags.

I'm still not sure why Hacksaw Duggan is an active WWE wrestler.

Probably a mixture of having an experience hand on staff and giving Hacksaw one last good payday before he hangs up the boots for good.

I just found it awkward that people skip the "Jim" in his name sometimes when he's always been marketed as "Hacksaw Jim Duggan".

I got it, it's out in Canada. It was a very lackluster magazine and I agree it had too many pictures. It didn't have any pictures of all the past magazines, and the ones during the stratch era logo are a joke. They could've done A LOT more. As a whole I give it *1/4. SAVE YOUR MONEY.

According to Dave Scherer, he is claiming that Kelly Kelly didn't get a tit job according to some sources in the company. I find that extremely hard to believe. The signature above speaks for itself.

Yea, Rajah.com had the story posted as well. They said she was just in a bra that "greatly enhanced her assets". I call bullshit on that.

She had a moderate size before and with a strong push-up bra or a double up bra (which is a push-up over a push-up that has become oddly popular), you get extreme lift. Her breasts don't look bigger there, just shoved up. Much like a woman in a corset, just because they look huge in the corset doesn't mean they are huge.

Look at Gong Li. Her breasts looked massive in Curse of the Golden Flower but they really aren't. Hell, bra technology is miles ahead of space shuttle technology!

The Sandman recently did an interview with Andy Steven of PWMania.com. Here are the highlights:

- He claims he was not fired, but asked for his release because he couldn't take the road schedule anymore and wanted to be with his family more

- He liked being with the ECW brand more than the Raw brand because his friends were on ECW

- He would go to TNA if the money was right

- He couldn't pick out any one person he enjoyed working with the most in WWE

- He said moving him to Raw was a last-minute decision by the creative team

- He keeps very minimal contact with some people in WWE

- He is accepting bookings through Tod Gordon at www.myspace.com/pwuczar

- He has launched a new website at www.hardcoreiconsandman.com

--We are told Kelly Kelly did not get new implants as it appeared from the PPV last night, and she was just wearing a very good push-up bra
.

Meanwhile, according to today's WON, either Vince McMahon or Kevin Dunn freaked out and was afraid that the name "Birmingham" sounded terrible, thus the tapings 2 weeks ago were only referred to as being from "the United Kingdom."

That's probably because Birmingham is terrible to be fair.
