* Non-Title Match

Steve Austin vs Eddie Guerrero - SmackDown, 16/11/00

Wow. I thought they never wrestled each other before! Sweet! It's great to know it happened at least once though!. :headbang:

http://slashwrestling.com/smackdown/001116.html

It'll be very interesting to see how much (or, rather, how little) is shown of it, due to the angle that preceded the match at the time.

Hopefully it has a decent amount of AWA matches. Didn't he and Scott Hall team up there?

Vs. Blue Blazer at WM V. Fun, short match.

Both I-C Title wins. I haven't seen the Tito match, but they would be nice to have for historical value.

SNME Battle Royal from 1991.

Both Bret matches. (I know people may be mad that its on Harts DVD, but they were two of his better matches.)

Savage-Perfect v. Flair-Ramon from SS 92.

Hopefully War Games 1997, because to me that was his only notable match in WCW.

Thats the thing with Hennig. I think the documentary and vignettes will be good, but I can't think of a dozen matches that makes me think I WANT this DVD.

That said, with the right mix of everything it could be a good one.

Curt Hennig is one of the best workers of his generation. You might want to do some history.

Hennig vs. Bret All three Matches (KOTR, SS, Match from '89 at the Garden)

Hennig vs. Nick Bockwinkle (3 of their classics)

Hennig vs. Tito Santana

Hennig vs. Ric Flair

Hennig and Razor vs. Flair and Ramon

Hennig vs. Greg Gagne (Anyone of them, where Hennig carried him to a classic)

Ray Stevens, Nick Bockwinkle, and Larry Zbysko vs. Greg Gagne, Scott Hall, and Curt Hennig

Curt Hennig vs. Misawa

Curt Hennig vs. Wahoo Mcdaniels

Curt Hennig vs. Jerry Lawler

etc...I could go on for a while....

I don't know what WWE's deal with that Dos Los Hombres match is. They've put it on 24/7 Online at least twice and I think it's even on the Pillman DVD too - it's not a good match! There were much better between Blondes and Steamboat/Douglas. I'm glad the Clash match with Steamboat is there - outside of it ending Steamboat's career, I've heard it's much better than the incredibly dull (to me) BATB 94 match they put on the What? DVD.

Triple H vs Steve Austin - No Way Out, 25/2/01

Steve Austin vs Rock - WrestleMania X-Seven, 1/4/01

and the reason I'll personally be buying the DVD:

* #1 Contender match for the WWE title

Bret Hart vs Steve Austin - Survivor Series, 16/11/96

No Benoit Edmonton match, and no Benoit/Jericho vs. Austin/Triple H from May 2001. Those are to be expected absent. But no Austin/Angle from SummerSlam 2001? I thought for sure that would be on here.

Great match listing, thanks for the info. Although that steel cage match for the Hollywood Blondes is already on another release and is not that good, they could've placed another Blondes match since they had so many great selections to choose from.

I thought they mentioned Smokey Mountain Wrestling stuff and opponents like Scott Hall?

Too bad his amazing 2001 run was not more represented but we know why is that. Also, it would've been nice for them to include his 2002 RAW match with Ric Flair or a WCW TV Title match, maybe with Barry Whindham. Either way, great list.

Don't remember much from the BATB match but the Clash match is indeed awesome. I always mark out for the spot where Austin has apparently run out of moves to do on Steamboat so he just starts slapping and paintbrushing him until Ricky slowly gets up, gets fired up . . . at which point instead of throwing a clothesline or a punch, Austin instead fights sweat out of his eyes only to push Steamboat's head away again. The crowd, coming to a fever pitch, is just begging for Ricky to kick Austin's ass. They get their wish as Steamboat takes Austin down and strikes the hell out of him.

I think the matchlisting for the Austin DVD is great. I love how they are putting stuff on their current DVD's that aren't available in that format, as opposed to their previous habit of just placing the most popular or well known matches on them. I guess their DVD's have proved their selling power enough since then that they've been able to change that.

I haven't seen any of those AWA matches, hence why I said "put some AWA matches on there". That said, they will not put 3 matches with Bockwinkle on there and half of the matches you listed, I agree with you.

I will stand by my comment, I haven't heard many people saying how the Hennig set HAS to have the Gagne and McDaniels matches on it.

Well, most people here aren't exactly too savvy when it comes to wrestling history, but yeah, they should be on there. Hennig was tremendous in AWA, but he also had a lot of great matches in the WWF that were on Coliseum Home Videos and House Shows. Unfortunately, back then he didn't have a lot of good workers to work with, so it was mostly the same guys (Tito Santana, Bret Hart...). The Hennig/Hall tag team was pretty good too.

Didn't Bret/Hennig have one or two good matches?

And I haven't seen it in a LONG time, but the Von Erich/Hennig match from Summerslam 90 was good (well, atleast I remember it being good as a kid).

Sorry if this has already been mentioned... got the RAW 15th anniversary DVD in the mail today.... and on the 3rd disc it has the Kane/Lita wedding listed on the back of the cover, but it is actually the Edge/Lita wedding on the dvd. I thought that was like the most interesting thing to ever happen to me...today.

I'm surprised HHH's DVD is only 2 discs. His last DVD came out in 2002. I'd figure with about 5 years of work since then, he'd get at least 3 or 4.

Does anyone know if the Stone Cold DVD will have a documentary portion? The chapter listings and the preview of a "chapter" on wwe.com makes it seem more like Mick Foley's DVD - short intros prior to the match but no actual documentary.

The Hardy's one interests me in the fact that the documentary part will be interesting, at least if the WWE lets it be.

Best of Starrcade I would settle for it done like the Flair DVD where they have the people talk about it briefly before the matches. I don't think it was a big enough event to warrant a long doc.

Starrcade is one of the premier events in the pay-per-view era of wrestling. It warrants a long doc. In fact, the WWE should bring it back and get rid of some these lame themes they have. No Way Out? What the fuck is that all about?

^ That's what I'm thinking since the Stone Cold Truth had the documentary.

What are they going to talk about? How Joe Frazier was backstage? How Flair's love for himself led to a Ron Garvin title reign?

I will not buy that it was a premier event when it went to a gimmick PPV what 4 or 5 times?

Starrcade was the NWA/WCW's signature. It was around before WrestleMania, and it most certainly warrants a DVD. Many classic battles took place at this event. By the way, BattleBowl was an awesome idea.

No Disqualification Match

Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Triple H

Survivor Series November 19, 2000

Surprised to see this match, as Chris Benoit plays a pivotal role in the ending.

It's a shame, too, as both Austin and HHH both have had multiple **** plus matches with (or including) Benoit.

I almost bought the Austin dvd tonight at K-mart for 19.99 but when I got to the register to buy the dvd, the computer told the cashier that the sale couldn't happen because it was before the sale date, so I have to go back tomorrow. On the plus side I was able to shill out my next wrestling show as the cashier's son is a wrestling fan, so yay for possible new local fans.
