Brett Favre Posted May 29, 2008 Author Report Posted May 29, 2008 Oh yeah.. Vin Baker. 4 All-Star Games 2 All-NBA Teams (2nd team, and 3rd team) Averaged around 18, 9, 2, 1, and 1 in his prime.
AboveAverage484 Posted May 29, 2008 Report Posted May 29, 2008 A lot of people only remember the fat, lazy Vin Baker, not the "could someday be another Karl Malone" Vin Baker.
Gert T Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 A lot of people only remember the fat, lazy Vin Baker, not the "could someday be another Karl Malone" Vin Baker. We'll have to wait another 10 years though to see if he can sire multiple professional athletes.
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 Dunking Dutchman meet...THUNDER DAN!!! Dan Majerle, G/F - 2 time all defensive 2nd team - 3 time all-star - 2 time NBA single season 3pt leader - in his prime averaged 17/5/4/2 I need a 3 point shooter off the bench and Majerle's one of the best ever. He is also a solid defender continuing my theme of drafting good two way players. He can come off the bench when I need 3 point shooting or when I need energy with his dunking ability. A line-up of Allen and Majerle on the floor at the same time will be a deadly combination.
Gert T Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 Good pick with Thunder Dan. wasn't looking at him here, but thought about him next. I had been avoiding picks like this, but what the hell, the credentials are strong, and the more I look, the happier I am he's on my team. With my 11th round pick I select: Paul Arizin/G-F/Philadelphia Warriors 10 Time All-Star 3 time All-NBA Missed 2 years......serving as a Marine in the Korean War.
MFer Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 I believe Arizin's the last of the original 50 Greatest to go off the board. Great value pick but I'm not sure how he'll be received by the voters...going WAY back with Arizin.
Edwin MacPhisto Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 Oh yeah.. Vin Baker. 4 All-Star Games 2 All-NBA Teams (2nd team, and 3rd team) Averaged around 18, 9, 2, 1, and 1 in his prime. yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees
Jorge Gorgeous Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 I wanted to add another center who could do a little of everything, including one thing very well. C - Elmore Smith Career leader in Basketball Reference's Defensive Rating, ahead of Ben Wallace, Tim Duncan, etcetera. 5th all time in career blocks... in 9 seasons. 17 blocks in a game. In his prime he was pouring in 17 points and grabbing 15 boards per game. In one season, he averaged 4.9 blocks per game. Insane. Great defense off the bench.
Gert T Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 I think Stevie wants Greg Ostertag with his next pick.
Steviekick Posted May 31, 2008 Report Posted May 31, 2008 Gilbert Arenas - Guard 3-time NBA All-Star: 2005, 2006, 2007 All-NBA Second Team: 2007 All-NBA Third Team: 2005, 2006 NBA Most Improved Player Award: 2003 NBA All-Star Rookie/Sophomore Game MVP
alfdogg Posted May 31, 2008 Report Posted May 31, 2008 So, what do we do when we get back around to KOAB? Will we just skip him again?
Maztinho Posted May 31, 2008 Report Posted May 31, 2008 A guy who can get you 20 PPG, 7 assists, 2 steals, and 5 boards. Not bad for a back-up point. Baron Davis Look! He's dunking on a Russian! USA! USA! USA! USA!
naiwf Posted May 31, 2008 Report Posted May 31, 2008 I need a coach, so I'll take a guy who was rated as one of the "Top 10 Coaches in NBA history". Bill Fitch Led the '81 Celtics to the NBA title 2x NBA Coach of the Year (1976 & 1980)
alfdogg Posted May 31, 2008 Report Posted May 31, 2008 Tayshaun Prince, F 12.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, .463 FG%, .365 3PT% 4-time All-Defensive second team Member of 2004 NBA champion Detroit Pistons Has not missed a game since his rookie season, has gone to at least the conference finals every year of his career, and is a very efficient player, averaging just 1.2 turnovers for his career. I should also point out that aside from Nash and Mark Price, everyone on my team has been to at least one Finals.
Gert T Posted May 31, 2008 Report Posted May 31, 2008 Just giving this a bump. If KOAB continues to be AWOL, are we just going to keep by-passing him and then filling in his roster at the end?
MFer Posted May 31, 2008 Report Posted May 31, 2008 From my understanding, he should be able to make his 9th-10th picks anytime now. Didn't someone PM him?
Broward83 Posted May 31, 2008 Report Posted May 31, 2008 Maybyner Rodney Hilario aka Nenê -- Power Forward
Lt. Al Giardello Posted May 31, 2008 Report Posted May 31, 2008 So is KOAB going to be skipped so I can make my picks now?
Brett Favre Posted May 31, 2008 Author Report Posted May 31, 2008 If he doesn't make it in 12 hours. Send me your picks if you can't make them.
Lt. Al Giardello Posted May 31, 2008 Report Posted May 31, 2008 Fuck the 12 hour rule, he's already missed two picks for 2 rounds already and has yet to make up those picks. Just let me pick now so I can get it over with.
Lt. Al Giardello Posted May 31, 2008 Report Posted May 31, 2008 Nick Van Exel Career Highlights: 1998 NBA All-Star 1993-94 NBA All-Rookie Second Team Was a very clutch shooter, and very flashy. Shareef Abdur-Rahim All-Star player in his prime, would be a great bench player.
alfdogg Posted June 1, 2008 Report Posted June 1, 2008 Guys, remember to PM the next person after you've made your pick.
Broward83 Posted June 1, 2008 Report Posted June 1, 2008 alright, since KOAB is before me.. can I just make my pick like EHME did or do I need to wait on KOAB?
Broward83 Posted June 1, 2008 Report Posted June 1, 2008 Well, with what seems to be my last pick..I realized I wanted another clutch shooting guard. I've got what I feel to be a clutch guy in Horry and well, I figured I'd pair him up with another clutch shooter. He's a good pick I feel for the last round and I think I've got the right team around him to keep his attitude in check. So, with my final pick I choose the man that Spike Lee feared during the 94 finals: Vernon Maxwell aka Mad Max -- Shooting Guard
