Dandy Posted July 4, 2008 Report Posted July 4, 2008 Decent idea in theory, but what would stop someone else from declaring themselves "Nature Boy?" I think it would just be better to have Flair managing Reid in a few years and if the "Nature Boy" moniker goes to anyone, it's passed on to Reid.
Exslade ZX Posted July 4, 2008 Report Posted July 4, 2008 I'm not so interested in the SD! Womens championship anymore... Finally, something that looks worse than the Spinner belt. The V looks a like a cervix. Fitting for the Divas championship I suppose. The belts ugly, but it's something new/interesting at least. And I think it's something over time, I won't hate. Except when someone who isn't a girly girl has it. Imagine Beth Phoenix carrying that. But I can see McCool with it.
Dandy Posted July 4, 2008 Report Posted July 4, 2008 The V makes the antennae of the butterfly design. I showed my girlfriend and she said it was a beautiful belt. Perhaps they want to get a better women demographic watching their shows? I don't see anything wrong with the belt myself.
DrVenkman PhD Posted July 4, 2008 Report Posted July 4, 2008 Fun fact: Atlas Ortiz used to play in the XFL under the handle "Rich Young". That would be a gimmick, eh? Disgruntled XFL journeyman.
Slickster Posted July 5, 2008 Report Posted July 5, 2008 It would require acknowledging the XFL's existence and failure.
Silence Posted July 5, 2008 Report Posted July 5, 2008 It would require acknowledging the XFL's existence and failure. Cena during his heel run mentioned it on the Heat Wrestlemania XIX pre-show in a rap when Jay-Z and Fabolous no-showed.
DrVenkman PhD Posted July 5, 2008 Report Posted July 5, 2008 It would require acknowledging the XFL's existence and failure. http://youtube.com/watch?v=0CcycaiEDrs
Scroby Posted July 5, 2008 Report Posted July 5, 2008 I agree with Dandy, the belt isn't to bad looking and at least it has a different unique look to it. I like it as well.
Twisted Intestine Posted July 5, 2008 Report Posted July 5, 2008 It would require acknowledging the XFL's existence and failure. http://youtube.com/watch?v=0CcycaiEDrs When/What was that for? I don't recognize the guy at the end, but it looks like a late night talk show?
DrVenkman PhD Posted July 5, 2008 Report Posted July 5, 2008 Craig Killborn (the guy who made fun of Owen's death), not sure when it's from though.
bob_barron Posted July 5, 2008 Report Posted July 5, 2008 It would require acknowledging the XFL's existence and failure. They've acknowledged the XFL's failure many times
luke-o Posted July 5, 2008 Report Posted July 5, 2008 I'm not so interested in the SD! Womens championship anymore... That belt is hideous.
garfieldsnose Posted July 5, 2008 Report Posted July 5, 2008 I don't think they were telling themselves "I hope all the males that watch like this belt". It is perfect for a women's design, and it's something that seems state of the art. Totally different from that plain Women's title on RAW.
MrRant Posted July 5, 2008 Report Posted July 5, 2008 I'm not so interested in the SD! Womens championship anymore... That belt is hideous. It reminds me of She-Ra.
Broward83 Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 my girlfriend saw the belt just now and said it looks like something that would come as an accessory to some sort of Bratz doll or some other really horrible modern "doll"...
Exslade ZX Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 my girlfriend saw the belt just now and said it looks like something that would come as an accessory to some sort of Bratz doll or some other really horrible modern "doll"... She's right. Makes me think of the movie "The Game Plan" where the girl 'bedazzled' The Rock's football. Except in this case it's a championship belt. And I don't know why, as it does give it a unique feel, but I don't like when a championship belt has no gold. It defeats the whole 'Going for the Gold' sentiment. Especially in this regard where they've been competing in 'Golden Dream' matches. Sure I'm taking it too literally, but it's just a personal preference.
Prophet of Mike Zagurski Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 I like it better now. The picture is clearer and it's a frontal shot. It's definitely unique.

It's not the first time Smackdown has had a title belt without any gold in it. Remember?
Hawk 34 Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 It fits perfectly with the DIVA concept. If anything, the other woman's belt really needs an update.
FroGG_NeaL Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 She-Ra was the first thing I thought of too.
haws bah gawd Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 Hmmm, at least now the ECW Title wont be the only belt in the company without a nameplate.
TheFranchise Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 It's got a nameplate, above the word 'champion'.
claydude14 Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 The spinner belt sells well, they probably want a belt to sell to the young girls watching. It's modern and hip, I actually like it.
keith6601 Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 Nice to see losing the ecw title didn't hurt Chavo's mainstream projects.
DrVenkman PhD Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 The SummerSlam 2008 poster, with tweaked 'double S' logo. This is the current poster: Check out the "DIVAS" butterfly logo on the jetski, just like the title!
Exslade ZX Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 Is that Maria? I thought it was Candice at first glance, but she's been out so long, I don't think she'd be on a poster.
DrVenkman PhD Posted July 7, 2008 Report Posted July 7, 2008 I actually have no idea who it is. Maria was my first thought too but it really doesn't look like her, facially.
