Mik Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 Thankfully the Giants still have Justin Tuck on the defensive line. That guy looks like a stud in the making. Fixed.
bob_barron Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 The rule that you can't cut away from games is BS. There's no reason anyone should be watching this Rams-Giants game
bob_barron Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 How can a day where Bush and Meachem score turn out so badly?
RedJed Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 Jesus christ, I can't believe the fucking Vikings blew it. The Colts looked like shit 90 percent of that game. Pathetic!
Mike wanna be Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 10% Colts > however much of the Vikings showed up. AP showed up, so that'd be like 80% or something. Carolina, according to Yahoo GameTracker, holds on for a 20-17 win over Chicago. But then again they choose McKie's 3 carries, 7 yards & 1 TD over Forte's 23 carries for 92 with no TDs for the Bears POTG.
Prophet of Mike Zagurski Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 So is Herm Edwards going to lose his job?
bob_barron Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 So is Herm Edwards going to lose his job? No. He's going for a youth movement, so the Chiefs being terrible was to be expected
bob_barron Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 I forgot how painful football can be. This one just hurts, since it would've been a huge lift to pull this off with everyone injured. If our defensive players can't come back next week, Cutler is going to torch us. Aww shucks. :-(
MFer Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 So umm, about that Kitna guy being the best QB in the NFC North...
JaMarcus Russell's #1 Caucasian Fan Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 Well the Raiders post their first win of the seasaon against the Chiefs. Where was this team last Monday Night? The defense looked pretty decent today. The secondary, led by the rising star Nnamdi Asomuga earned their money today. We finally got a pash rush going. Although Fargas got hurt, McFadden and Michael Bush looked really good, with McFadden rushing for over 150 and a touchdown. Both need to learn how to hold on to the ball. JaMarcus Russell didn't have a great day stats wise, but managed the game pretty well. He has a good arm, and with some time, his accuracy should get better. Overall, this is the team I expected from opening day. There is still a lot of work to be done and we only beat the Chiefs, but I'm happy with the win regardless. Kiffin keeps his job for another week. Al should threaten his job every week from now on.
Bored Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 49ers block a punt, the Seahawks pick it up and get a 20 yard gain out of it. Only the 49ers could pull that off.
Guest Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 That was a good victory. Every defensive player played well, DeAngelo Hall included. I need to think up a nickname for McFadden. For now I'll just call him McGreat. I got a little worried when Bush fumbled late, but the defense took care of that. Hopefully Lane keeps his job, but if not, Ryan better not be the one to get it.
Guest Vitamin X Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 Man that Lions game was something else. Total domination in the first half, then the Lions just kept kicking and kicking while the Packers were sleepwalking through the 3rd quarter. Seriously, what a lethargic team, I think they just wanted to go home at that point. Then the safety and the touchdown happened and shit got serious. I said it before and now I can keep saying it: This team is just as good with Aaron Rodgers as they were with Favre last year, if not better. That trade to the Jets is the best for all parties involved, although ideally Favre would've just stayed retired, we could've had the little jersey ceremony and all that last week, and we could be moving on all happy. I love Rodgers because even though he doesn't have the same arm strength that Favre does (I don't think anyone in NFL history does, really) he's way, way, way more accurate and very mobile which works great with this group of receivers and the offensive system they're running. I was a little disappointed in the defense today since they let the Lions get back into it while the running game was lagging big-time (Kregg Lumpkin? If I hadn't heard a better name for some no-name running back destined to be a 3rd stringer/practice squad guy for the rest of his life, I must've forgotten it). But hey, all alone in first place in the NFC North already! This is nice.
In Credible Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 Ugh please fire Childress. Terrible play calling, and please draft a good QB (or go after one in FA).
Guest Brady's Torn ACL Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 Bears pissed down their collective leg today. This one's on Olsen (2 fumbles), Orton (bad), and Ron Turner (too conservative). Pathetic loss. Wind out of sails. 8-8 at best. Jake Delhomme is one annoying bastard. I'm surprised I hadn't noticed this in the last five seasons, when the Carolina Panthers evidently became America's Favorite .500ish Team. This all just furthers my theory that Dick Stockton is the Chicago Sports Jinx. His senility and non-rhoticity are the soundtrack of Bears and Cubs failure.
Guest Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 This performance by Denver is making me think that maybe we aren't so bad after all, just average.
AlwaysPissedOff Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 I'm going to drive down to Jacksonville and personally put a bullet in the head of both Matt Jones and Marcedes Lewis(and maybe Rashean Mathis for being a dumbass by going for the ball instead of pushing Hardy out before he got his feet down. I still don't think that was a TD, though...). Fucking sorry ass 1st round bust bitches...
Smartly Pretty Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 Trust me when I tell you someone will do it for you.
Cartman Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 I guess we can chalk up Atlanta's wweek 1 success to the utter suck of the Lions.
Guest Vitamin X Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 Yeah I think Denver had a hell of a team going into this season, and shit. They were even better than I thought. This is like the late 90's all over again! EDIT: Then again, they're playing San Diego. Norv Turner.
Kahran Ramsus Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 Great day! Packers win and the rest of the division gets beat.
Agent_Bond34 Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 49ers block a punt, the Seahawks pick it up and get a 20 yard gain out of it. Only the 49ers could pull that off. That's no lie. That said... Patrick Willis just returned a pick 86 yards for a touchdown. Tie game.
Guest Brady's Torn ACL Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 One last note on Jake Delhomme: imagine if this guy were coached by Tom Coughlin. We'd hit a critical mass of demonstrative incredulous arm-flapping, head-cocking, and jaw-hanging. They wouldn't belieeeeeeeeeve it.
Zetterberg is God Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 This all just furthers my theory that Dick Stockton is the Chicago Sports Jinx. His senility and non-rhoticity are the soundtrack of Bears and Cubs failure. Wasn't Stockton's fault today. Sam Rosen had the call.
Damaramu Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 Ugh please fire Childress. Terrible play calling, and please draft a good QB (or go after one in FA). Their drives looked like this: AD 10 yard rush, AD 10 yard rush, AD 10 yard rush, *get inside the 20* AD 2 yard rush. Childress: Oh my god! They stuffed our run game! Throw it! *Field Goal* They let Peterson run wild until they got to the 20 then they tried to have Jackson pass it for the score. Hmmm...I remember everyone saying D-Mac would be the next Peterson. He rushed for 4 more yards than Peterson today......silver and black jesus!
Brett Favre Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 Lets punt that ball and hopefully we can get it back with 2 minutes, down 9, with no timeouts. Good thinking.
Agent_Bond34 Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 If the 49ers can hold Seattle on this drive, they can start their next drive with all 3 timeouts and hopefully plenty of time.
The Ghost of bps21 Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 Embarrasing end for Denver.
