Craig Th Posted September 21, 2008 Report Posted September 21, 2008 Season 5 starts on Thursday, I am pumped. "Weight Loss." Staffers in the Scranton branch of Dunder Mifflin become obsessed with their weight in the wake of corporate weight-loss initiatives. And I'm not sure if this has been posted, but here are some Webisodes from NBC.com. (I think they are new).
bob_barron Posted September 21, 2008 Report Posted September 21, 2008 Dude. It should've been this is a button. Come on.
Lord of The Curry Posted September 21, 2008 Report Posted September 21, 2008 While being a funny episode the season finale left me cold especially because I can sense that things will get rough for Jim and Pam which may be kinda awkward to watch as they've easily been my favorite tv couple of the last few years. Also no Toby being around will suck balls. Wonder if we'll see Ryan back in Scranton after the big arrest?
Spaceman Spiff Posted September 22, 2008 Report Posted September 22, 2008 Regarding Toby: he'll be back.
Lord of The Curry Posted September 22, 2008 Report Posted September 22, 2008 Without revealing too much about the episode is it at all possible for you to tell me how and why?
Spaceman Spiff Posted September 22, 2008 Report Posted September 22, 2008 I don't know that much. I saw it somewhere, but basically (more or less) Toby got tired of doing nothing, so he decided to come back.
PILLS! PILLS! PILLS! Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 I get out of work at 9 every Thursday night, and, subsequently, miss the first ten minutes or so of each show. Do they usually post the episodes on NBC.com (or anywhere else) the same night that they air?
Craig Th Posted September 25, 2008 Author Report Posted September 25, 2008 No, it's usually the next night. However, you can download it (via Bittorrent) about an hour afterwards.
DrVenkman PhD Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 I would have sub-titled the thread "Break me off a piece of that Fan-cy Feast"
Nightwing Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 FIRE-ED GUY! Excellent stuff. Ryan's return is brilliant. He's even a TEMP again!
Spaceman Spiff Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 I liked computer Pam talking head. And, hey, Harry Crane from Mad Men! He looks...odd seeing him in a contemporary situation.
Gary Floyd Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 Stanley's Black Power pose at the end=awesome. Poor Toby.
DrVenkman PhD Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 I hadn't fully processed 9/11. Thumbs up for the Stay-Puft Marshmellow Man photo.
Boon Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 I once went 28 years without having sex. Then I went another 7. So there. Great episode.
Craig Th Posted September 26, 2008 Author Report Posted September 26, 2008 Fantastic episode. It felt like season 2. And I don't know if it was me, but I thought Jim was meeting Pam to break up with her.
Mik Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 "Phyllis, why don't you sit down and give those gams a rest. Everybody clap at Phyllis." "Andy Bernard doesn't lose contests. He wins them. Or quits them because they aren't fair."
foleyfanforever88 Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 "I wonder what people like about me..probably my jugs." Kelly's "I'm gonna look amaaziiing" while looking like hell was hilarious too.
treble Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 "It was the hardest thing I've ever had to do. I haven't had a very hard life." I feel bad for Andy.
DMann2003 Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 That was a damn beautiful proposal, WTG Jim!
Lord of The Curry Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 I felt bad for Andy. I felt awesomeness for Jim.
DrVenkman PhD Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 Did I miss some new rule about spoiler tagging TV shows that have already aired?
PILLS! PILLS! PILLS! Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 Seeing Temp crawling back was just terrific. For a short moment it seemed as though his second attempt to butter up Kelly might have worked. One quick thing. Was Michael clean-shaven during the lounge scene just before Jim talks about missing lunch with Pam? If so, it would seem slightly off-key, as Temp wasn't clean-shaven yet. And Michael was sporting the goatee for the rest of the week after that scene, I think...
DrVenkman PhD Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 The exchange between Michael, Dwight, and Phyllis was great. "She should thank me" "Good point - Phylis, you go first and thank Dwight" "Why should I be thanking him?" "Phylis, I'm sorry I had to deceive you in order to get you to excersie" (paraphrased)
The Tino Standard Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 One quick thing. Was Michael clean-shaven during the lounge scene just before Jim talks about missing lunch with Pam? If so, it would seem slightly off-key, as Temp wasn't clean-shaven yet. And Michael was sporting the goatee for the rest of the week after that scene, I think... Yes he was. Bit of a gaffe there.
The Electrifyer Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 Funniest part of this episode was when Holly found out Kevin wasn't retarded. Just shows how great this show is, as everyone's mentioning hilarious quotes they remember from it and this part hasn't even been mentioned yet.
Maztinho Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 Funniest part of this episode was when Holly found out Kevin wasn't retarded. Just shows how great this show is, as everyone's mentioning hilarious quotes they remember from it and this part hasn't even been mentioned yet. Yeah, that part was great. Overall a great episode.
Lord of The Curry Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 So are we to believe that Jim was fucking with us when he said that he and Pam were okay with not being engaged or did he have some kind of a panic attack? For a brief moment I got the feeling that they were going to have Pam cheat on him with the dude in her class. Why was Darrel's voice so fucked up?
Aero Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 Yeah, it seemed like Jim realized how much he missed Pam for the summer, hence the "How's your summer?" interview, and sort of panicked. As soon as they got engaged, I figured the Pam-college guy thing was just a red herring.
Lord of The Curry Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 Interesting theory brought up at another board: the reason the staff gained weight instead of losing it can be attributed to Angela being knocked up with Dwight's kid.
HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 How long were they broken up before she was with Andy? And was she with Dwight before the season finale?
