The Dames' Diatribe on WWE Raw 2/9/04
MillenniumMan831 replied to The Dames's topic in The WWE Folder
All they had to do was have HHH jump Benoit from behind during the Benoit/HBK confrontation. HHH and Benoit can brawl up the ramp as HBK shrugs and signs the contract. Upon seeing this, Benoit gets hot while HHH leaves with a big grin on his face. Just as Benoit enters the ring, have HBK casually leave and powerwalk up the ramp leaving Benoit pissed off. HBK would still come off with the better end w/o Benoit looking inferior. Sorry . . . great review as always. -
Hello, I was planning on selling 3 dvds for $20. They are slightly used and in excellent condition. The are: - Mick Foley: Hard Knocks and Cheap Pops - Undertaker: He Buries them Alive - Turnbuckle Memories Volume I (Basically, an old ep of Florida Wrestling with Dusty Rhodes throwing in his 2 cents at the beginning and end) If interested, send me a pm or shoot me an email at [email protected] Thanks.

Can anyone point me in the direction of this theme? It's Evolution's instrumental theme they used for a few weeks before switching to Motorhead. It's Orton's theme in Raw 2 for X-Box. Thanks a lot.

So can WWE use Jesse's commentary for matches released by WCW Video (Their ppvs)? I'm guessing his commentary will be hacked out of the Blondes vs/ AA/Flair match from Clash on Austin's new DVD. And I actually enjoyed Foley's commentary during the 2 extra matches. He and Coach had a decent chemistry together.

There's rarely a story going on in the WW3 battle royals. Just a bunch of guys getting thrown out of the ring (In later years, even through the ropes) until it's down to 8 or so and then it's alright. But that segment ends up taking 5ish minutes for a 30 minute battle royal. FWIW, one of my favorite WW3 moments came in 1997 when Mysterio was thrown out of the ring and onto the apron. nWo guys kept trying to kick him out, after several minutes, he was eliminated . . . . . BUT WAIT! He was still clinging onto the ring skirt. Incredible! Tenay was pumped. He clawed his way back in. Now, how was he really eliminated? I dunno, it was probably off camera like MANY of the eliminations.

He was "suspended". Why? I can't remember. But, I believe the suspension was lifted the following night.

Not really. Kama and Undertaker are really good friends in real life. Plus, it would give Kama a little credibility going into the Nation.

I used to see Metal in Spanish on either Telemundo or Univision, I can't remember which. Funny stuff to hear the announcers get all jazzed for Funaki vs. Albert.

I was also a big Mark Starr mark. I saw a match vs. Regal (probably not the same match) on Worldwide where Regal defeated Starr after much trouble. I don't think they bothered with the time limit because it was non title. Boy, Regal was winded during his post match interview. As for the Headshrinkers, I have no idea what match it is, but I love the clip where one of them comes off the top and splashes a jobber . . . who is on the arena floor! Brutal stuff!

I remember when the King came back to the booth, JR said something like, JR: In my career, I hope we never again see a match like that. King: (Seemingly knowing where JR's going with this) Well, now you won't have to because Al Snow is outta here!

I was always under the impression that multi-man matches such as Triple Threats, Fatal 4 Ways, ect were used to set up the REAL blowoff in the form of a one-on-one match. And WrestleMania XX has literally been hyped for a full damn year. This is supposed to be the ultimate blowoff ppv (Well, I might blow it off). How they can used a match used to transition feuds w/o jobbing anyone important as the FEATURE attraction to the BIGGEST extravaganza of all time is beyond me. Seriously, how hard is it to just book HHH and Benoit while sticking Michaels in a program with Jericho? You could have HBK warn Trish about Jericho's scheming ways turning him into a subtle heel in the process. Even have him befriend Christian as 2 people "looking out for the best of their respective friends". Trish could start having second thoughts about Jericho's true feelings for the nest 2 months. And then blow this off at WrestleMania.

The way the Dudleys and Snow on commentary were selling the injuries, it's as if the Dudleys are about to announce retirement.

I was a big Barry O fan. His intros would go like this: Fink: This contest is scheduled for one fall. In the ring from Las Vegas, Nevada, weighing . . . (O barks something at Fink) Fink: From the FABULOUS Las Vegas, Nevada, weighing 245 pounds, Barry O! (O makes the 'O' gesture with his arms) And yes, I believe Dynamite was always a super stiffy.

Hey, Jindrak/Cade have graphics on that Mini-Tron now. Movin up the ladder, I see.

On the Jakked/Metal front, I believe Jakked was the Sat night show because their "Main Event" came at the beginning of the show, similiar to SNME. However, Metal would show their "Main Event" at the end of the show. I'm guessing the same was true for Shotgun Sat Night and Shotgun Challenge. Why did they do this? Your guess is as good as mine.

If anyone has CV's Hulkamania 6, Hogan pins UT in a CV Exclusive right in the middle of UT's 'Undefeated' streak.

Well, the Arena League now has a minor affiliation with the NFL so that may not be the way to go.

Eh, I tried to score a few points for the ol man. I returned from CD Warehouse and the dvds look crisp, clean, with no caffeine (as Angle would say). I'll have to check them out tonight to make sure everything's copastetic (sp? but it was cool when the Rock said it).

Like an idiot, I let my dad's boss borrow it last week. I get it back and there's now a tear in the insert, disc 2 now has a scratch and disc 3 is all scratched up. Plus, somehow all the gloss on the cover is gone. I'm taking it to CD Warehouse to hopefully get the discs fixed. So help me God if that doesn't work out.

Actually, I believe Tajiri beat him in a CW Title match the SD after No Mercy . . . then Akio and Sakoda finished him off after the match.

I can just imagine Vince from the 1995 Rumble: "ONE FOOT! ONE FOOT!! ONE FOOT!!!"

And to think the Heat Preview actually listed the main event as Mark Henry vs. Matt Hardy. Not to be racist, but WWE probably doesn't know the difference between the black wrestlers. That's just sad. I'm guessing Hardy will face Ron Simmons next week after being advertised to face Stevie Ray.

The Dames' Diatribe on The Flair DVD (Disc 2)
MillenniumMan831 replied to The Dames's topic in The WWE Folder
Another great review as always. Can't wait to hear about the Rumble 92. However, Funk/Flair met at the Great American Bash . . . not Beach Blast in 1989. Beach Blast didn't start until 1992. Minor thing, but just giving you a heads up. I'm actually one of the few that enjoys the Chi Town Rumble match the best, but I think that's mostly from seeing Ricky Steamboat win THE BIG ONE.
