  1. Shit! I knew there was something I forgot to tell CC... Other than that... TLC, huh? Well, I just hope this one turns out better for W&D than our last one...
  2. Sorry, can't do it; I don't have the ability to upload pictures to anywhere while I'm underway.
  3. I still can't believe that I actually sold for an imaginary hippopotamus; I must be growing senile in my old age...
  4. None taken; most of the kids that work for me thought I was older, too. In fact, one of them found out that yesterday was my birthday, and asked me how old I was. When I told him, he responded with, "Only thirty?"
  5. Did Snuka ever win on a WWF Pay-Per-View?
  6. Today, I enter into the most exclusive community on TSM; more exclusive than even the moderator's community... That's right: today, I join the handful of members on this message board that are in their thirties! Fellow oldheads, please feel free to sign in: if there are more than ten of us, I'll frankly be very surprised...
  7. And I've been unable to get online to register an opinion, until about an hour or so ago...
  8. What made Vince decide to turn the One Man Gang into Akeem "the African Dream?" As near as I can tell, he was stuck right into the Twin Towers team after being repackaged, but wouldn't that team have been more badass if it were Bossman and OMG instead of Bossman and Akeem? I guess the thing that bothers me most about it is the way that the Gang's finisher was called the "747," and even after they repackaged him as Akeem, announcers still had a tendency to call his splash the "747." Did they expect people not to notice? Also, I didn't really start following WWF until after WM5, so did they have any kind of vignettes to promote Akeem?
  9. :: shakes fist at Muzz ::
  10. Well, look at it this way, Zed: your loss as head booker was Toxxic's gain as a character/writer. No disrepsect to Toxxic, but who's to say that he would have already broken through to the main event if all those guys hadn't all quit one after the other? He might still be at ICTV or USJL level (since we probably would have had enough guys to keep those belts active). Hell, just look at all the main eventers/upper midcard stars that either quit or took an indefinite leave of absence during Toxxic's first several months in the fed: Danny Williams* Nathaniel Kibagami* Tom Flesher* Ejiro Fasaki*/Coy West The HVille Thugg* Janus* Charlie Matthews* Va'aiga* John Duran* Ann Onita Jamie Drazon Crowe Wildchild Mike Van Siclen Todd Royal * - Former World Heavyweight Champion Quite frankly, there was nowhere for him to go but up... Of course, on the other hand, had those guys still been here, then the ladder match at Battleground could have very well been WC versus Toxxic; now there be ratings! So, I suppose when you think about it, the Main Event's loss became the Cruiserweight Title's loss...
  11. Had an easy major, did we?
  12. Muzz, you're making way too much out of this...
  13. Damn; condolences, Mark.
  14. If the point of Demolition was, originally, to make fun of the Road Warriors, then what was the point of bringing in the Powers of Pain? They looked more like Hawk and Animal than Ax and Smash did, so what were they going for? What was the kayfabe reason for breaking the PoP up, and when was their last match as a team? I ask mostly because I don't remember when LoD made their WWF debut, and was a little curious as to whether or not they ever faced each other in the WWF?
  15. I don't know how you guys can do it at all, frankly; there's no way I would have been able to devote any time to something like this when I was your age. Of course, there wasn't such a thing as the internet when I was some of y'all's age...
  16. Not THAT Todd...
  17. They play college games there all the time.
  18. .... You know what this angle really needs? The Wrath of Todd.
  19. IN-different?
  20. Okay; just asking. I mean, I've never actually writen an announce table spot, but if it's actually supposed to be at ringside, I may do one eventually.
  21. 1. What was the deal with Barry Windham in 1989? I have a collector's card that portrayed him as the "Widowmaker," and I remember seeing him wrestling on a couple episodes of Superstars, but I don't remember him being pushed, or even in any kind of high-profile match at all. As I recall, he was originally booked as the 4th member of the Kings Court at Survivor Series '89, but was replaced by (Canadian) Earthquake. Why was his run in '89 so short, and why didn't he get any sort of push? 2. Why did Dusty Rhodes allow himself to be degraded with that whole polka dot thing during his second (?) WWF run? I mean, I can kind of see allowing yourself to be humiliated if you'd negotiated a title reign, but not only do I not remember Rhodes ever holding any title in the WWF, but I don't remember him ever even rising above the upper midcard; did Rhodes ever main event a televised show? 3. Somewhat related question for Ronnie Garvin. He went from being a former NWA Champion (transtional champ, but still) to being pretty much midcard for the length of his brief WWF run; what was the point? And what was the story behind the "Hammer Jammer?" 4. Why did the Rougeaus break up? Did Raymond want to retire, or was he fired? Was RR '90 their last televised match? And what was Jacques doing between the time that the Rougeaus broke up and when become the Mountie? 4a. Were the Rougeaus ever considered to get a run with the Tag belts? And, if so, why didn't it happen? 5. Why did Warrior use to carry jobbers backstage after he beat them? 6. I recently acquired an "unedited" copy of WM5 (thanks Wrestleholic) and two things stood out to me: #1 - they cut out a shitload from a lot of matches in the edit I saw back in the early '90s (Harts vs. Honky/Hammer being perhaps the biggest violation), and #2 - They had a promo with Sensational Sherri just before the above-mentioned match, where she clowned on Rockin' Robin singing America the Beautiful (and she was really bad), and talking about how she was going to regain the Women's Title. As far as I know, whatever was left of the Women's Division promptly went into the mothballs right afterwards, so what ever happened between Sherri and Robin?
  22. Well, I studied judo for a while, so I've done a few moves in real fights that approximate wrestling moves, but not on purpose. The closest thing to a "move" that I've done intentionally was that multiple sledgehammer thing that Demolition used to do; me and my boy used to do that all the time.
  23. I actually think it's a combination of burnout and the lack of an analyst who can break down moves. Lawler is good at getting a story across (as long as it doesn't involve chicks), but he don't know moves. For Raw, a third guy (call Snow back up?) might actually be a good idea. Heh; I'm old enough to remember when Ross was a good play-by-play man... at the risk of sounding disrespectful, did the stroke cause him to forget how to call moves?
  24. Any chance I could get some feedback from CC about that announce table thing?
