  1. Hey Johnny, when do you plan to get around to adding the tag team database?
  2. If you're taking input, I'm partial to "World Television Championship." It worked for ECW and, prior to the nWo, it worked for WCW as well.
  3. Leave it to Janus to finish early; hopefully, you'll meet someone who won't mind that so much...
  4. Quick question: which player has hit the most game-winning shots for the Kings since 2002?
  5. There was never any temptation on my part, Toxxic; I hate multi-man matches, and wasn't going to win my favorite title in one if I didn't have to. Besides, all things being equal, I actually want Pretzler to do well; simply from a kayfabe point of view, it's better for the fed if Pretzler has some run with the title, and gets himself established as a worthy champion. ... Before I bury him...
  6. Boy, that site doesn't take long to timeout, does it? I went to post my stats, and before I finished, it had logged me off...
  7. Uh, okay; so... going to update the champion's list any time soon?
  8. Sorry, Drea; I read your promo, but I guess I didn't get that out of it. Consider yourself off my "Use in the HOLT" list.
  9. Well, Stryke, maybe if you could be bothered to show every now and then...
  10. And, if you guys want, you can post it to the website, or that x-wrestling place, or whatever.
  11. A very short card for a Pay-Per-View, but what was on the show was very good. Congratulations to Austin Sly for winning the USJL, and Cortez and Toxxic for retaining; I don't know what the situation was regarding no-shows and whatnot, aside from the ME, so I won't speak on it, but you guys wrote great stuff. And, as a special shout-out to IL, Stryke, Spike, Toxxic and Dace, all of whom predicted me to lose the Tag Titles... :: does crotch chop :: NYAH-NYAH-NYAH! 3-0 lifetime at From the Fire! What's up?
  12. SWF Sunday Night Frost and HOLT report From the Fire 2005 March 6 2005 Tempe, Arizona, at Sun Devil Stadium Report by Jim Crupi of Phoenix, Arizona, Smartmarks.com reader Frost: - Dominic Korgath crushed the Memphis Eel in 1:18 with the Big Splash. - The first video package showcased the two newest and brightest stars in the SWF: Scott Pretzler and Jay Hawke. Special attention was given to Pretzler’s winning the World Cruiserweight Title and the tension that manifested itself between Pretzler and Hawke regarding that belt. Afterwards, Ben Hardy interviewed Pretzler and Hawke, and opened the interview by asking them to comment on Wildchild apparently being without a partner for the title defense. Pretzler replied that Wildchild was undeserving of any mercy, and that even if he were, he wouldn’t have received any anyway. Hardy directed the next question at Hawke, pointing out that, unlike Pretzler, this is his first title match, and asked him if he had any butterflies about his first big match, which Hawke laughed at, saying that, although he might be a rookie in the SWF, he’d in the business for almost ten years, and had won titles all over the world, so he wasn’t nervous. Hardy then continued his streak of asking tough questions, asking Hawke to comment on his snatching Pretzler’s Cruiserweight Championship, and asking him how he was going to be able to team with Pretzler when he wanted to win his title as well. Hawke flinched at the question, and then replied that he was “one hundred percent focused on winning the Cruiser-err… I… uh… Tag Team Titles.” Pretzler looked at him like, “Oh really?” and I thought that they were going to throw down, but somehow they came to an agreement that they would win the tag titles first, and then whatever happened would happen. - John Duran beat Brian Levy in 3:12 with the Blunt Force Trauma. - Ann Onita and Andrea Montgomery beat Perfect Bo and Jamie Drazon in 8:53, following a double missile dropkick on Bo. - The second video package featured the Hardcore Title reign of Todd Cortez. Afterwards, Cyclone Comet interviewed the Urban Legend and asked him if he was still uncomfortable wrestling without Mike Van Siclen having his back. Cortez replied that Van Siclen still had his back, even if he wasn’t at ringside, and expressed his appreciation for Van Siclen’s role in getting him started in the SWF. Comet then talked about his incredible run with the Hardcore Title, comparing it to Wildchild’s reign in 2003, and mentioning how his record-setting run in the Hardcore Division included wins over five men who would go on to become World Heavyweight Champion. Cortez surprisingly gave a lot of props to Wildchild, but also went on to say that those guys weren’t nearly as good back then as they’d become, and compared it to a lifetime Triple-A baseball player bragging about how he used to whip up on Hall-of-Fame major leaguers back when they were in Little League. Finally, Comet asked Cortez if he had any aspirations beyond the Hardcore Division, with Cortez saying he obviously did, that just about everyone in the SWF wanted to eventually become the World Heavyweight Champion. Comet asked him if he had any plans on going ever after his partner’s ICTV title, and Cortez replied, saying that for right now, he’s happy with breaking new ground with the Hardcore Title, but that if Maddix still held the title when he was ready to move up, that he wouldn’t be afraid to challenge him. - Styke beat Uncle Filthy with the Low End Theory in 6:04. - Spike Jenkins beat Evan Wolfe in 5:51 with the Ratings Crash. - The final video package highlighted Landon Maddix, from his World Title win against Toxxic at Slay Ride, to losing the World Title to Toxxic, to winning the Clusterfuck. Ben Hardy asked him what it meant to win the ‘Fuck, and Maddix talked about how the Clusterfuck winner’s club was the most exclusive membership in all of professional wrestling, and how everyone who’s won the ‘Fuck went on to become the World Heavyweight Champion. He also added that he had the advantage of having already been the Heavyweight Champion, and already knowing what it takes to beat Toxxic. Hardy asked him whether he thought having to open the Pay-Per-View to defend the USJL title would affect his performance in the main event. Maddix replied by saying that it wouldn’t be any different than wrestling in the ‘Fuck, so he wasn’t worried about it. Finally, Hardy asked him if he had any last words for Toxxic, and Maddix said that he had five: “Mamma said knock you out!” - Mak Francis beat Sean Davis in 16:43. Hell of a match! My favorite spot was when Davis went to military press Mak out of the ring, but Mak grapevined his arms, and the BOTH went over! Mak won with Brotherly Love. From the Fire: - Muhammed Koran came down to the ring after the USJL match to complain about how it was some kind of capitalist American conspiracy to keep him off the Pay-Per-View, and that, whether the fans like it or not, he was going to take the SWF by storm, and capture the World Heavyweight Championship to prove the greatness of Islam. It would be fair to say that this was not well received. - While they were setting up the cage, Funyon recognized SWF Legend and Arizona native Mercury, who received a nice nostalgia pop and a standing ovation. - Johnny Dangerous stayed in the ring to celebrate the title win after Wildchild went backstage, and the crowd shit all over him; I guess that, after the heat of the moment was over with, everybody was pissed about how he pretty much left Wildchild to fend for himself for damn near the whole match. - While the cage was being taken back down, Funyon announced that tickets were still available for SWF Storm in Phoenix. He also mentioned that, due to the ratings success of SWF Wrath, they would be debuting a new, “late-night” syndicated wrestling show, to be called “Joker’s Wild,” and that taping for the pilot would be held next week at Lockdown. - Due to the relative brevity of the Hardcore Title match, there was another, impromptu match before the Main Event, which saw Manson beat Danny Dagda with Consequences. Biggest Pops 1) Landon Maddix 2) Wildchild 3) Todd Cortez 4) Mercury 5) Johnny Dangerous Most Heat 1) Toxxic 2) Scott Pretzler 3) Austin Sly 4) Jay Hawke 5) Sean Davis
  13. Well, that settles it; if you still have the ICTV title after I win the WCC, you and me are going title for title, young fella!
  14. Is that our new banner? And, have they rated this PPV?
  15. Don't get your hopes up; it's not him.
  16. FADE IN Date: March 6, 2005. Time: Hours before From the Fire. Place: Twin Palms Hotel, Tempe, Arizona. “… Right. I understand… Well, thanks for getting back to me.” CLICK Wildchild hangs his head in frustration. Mere hours before a major title defense, and he still had no partner. He’s tried just about everyone he could think of, but no one could make it to Tempe on such short notice, let alone be ready for a title match with no time to prepare. RING! RING! RING! Wildchild is snapped out of his reverie by the sound of his phone ringing. Flipping it open, he speaks into it. “Oui?” “Mister LeCroix,” begins a familiar voice, “you never returned my call.” Wildchild sighs as his eyes roll skyward. “I don’ really have time for dis; what do you want?” “Well, I heard about your predicament, and I may be able to help you out…” “Oh? How’s dat,” asks Wildchild. “You gon’ offer your assistance tonight?” A chuckle can be heard on the other end. “Well, obviously not myself, dear boy, but I may have someone whom you would find quite useful.” “Uh-huh,” replies Wildchild, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “And what’s in it for you?” “For me?” asks the voice mirthfully. “Why nothing, young man… at least, nothing that I don’t already have…” “What are you talking about?” “Remember, Mister LeCroix, we have an arrangement. I’ve still been living up to my end, in fact; how do you think you and Johnny got a title shot so soon after your return?” “I beg your pardon?” Wildchild asks incredulously. “You heard me,” replies the voice coolly. “You signed a deal; you still owe me.” Wildchild shakes his head. “I so do not have time for this!” CLICK! Wildchild flips his phone closed, muttering in frustration. He remembers one person whom he forgot to ask, and is about to open up his phone when it rings again: RING! RING! RING! Hoping that it would be someone who could help him out for the match, Wildchild hurriedly flips the phone back open. “Oui?” “A word to the wise, Mister LeCroix,” the voice says again, “I’m not going to go away just because you don’t feel like talking to me; you and I have unfinished business…” CLICK! An angry Wildchild snaps his phone shut once again. “Dis is de last t’ing I need right now,” he mutters to himself. “How am I going t’ be able to find a partner when I have to deal with…” RING! RING! RING! “Not again,” Wildchild groans to himself. Snapping the phone open, he roars into it. “WHAT?” “… It’s me.” “What de hell d'you want?” “I wanted to talk to you about From the Fire.” “And?” “I’ll be there.” Wildchild runs his hands through his hair. “Are you puttin’ me on? Because I totally do not have time for this…” “I’ll be there.” Wildchild sighs loudly. “If you back out on me…” “Don’t worry. I’ll be there.” “Fine,” says Wildchild. “I’ll see you in a couple of hours.” CLICK! Wildchild collapses against his bed as he flips his phone closed. “He’d just better be there; I'm out of options.” As we: FADE OUT
  17. Well, my match is in; a full three minutes ahead of the deadline, by the clock on my computer... and it only took me 775 minutes of virtually non-stop writing.
  18. What? You mean that the lure of the WHC isn't all that it's cracked up to be? The hell you say!
  19. .... I thought Drea was still carrying a torch for Divefire? EDIT - I didn't know you were a Fat Joe fan, either...
  20. I'm with you, al ... these people have got to be joking when they say that they don't know who she is. Trust me, Secret Agent is my tag team partner down below in the SWF, and we talk wrestling all the time; or, more to the point, I'm talking to him about wrestling all the time... I will vouch for the fact that he knows dick about pre-Attitude WWF, and I tease him about it all the time. Hell, "The Ultimate Challenge" is pretty much the extent of his pre-1997 wrestling knowledge. And if you're reading this Johnny, don't get bent out of shape; you know you're my boy...
  21. Is this forum exclusive to the trafficking of "tapes," as in, literally, VHS tapes only? Because I'm looking to acquire some early 90's WWF PPV's, but I'm on deployment and extremely limited by space, which basically means that I can't do anything with tapes. If DVD's aren't available here, would someone please point me in the right direction? Also, is there any way to get any of those Silvervision DVD's in the US?
  22. .... I think that, from now on, perhaps I need to spell out the POA for every angle I get involved in to CC in exacting detail, so that there's no chance that they'll completely misinterpret what I'm trying to accomplish...
