The only real battle being currently fought in the US is trying to force companies to label their food as GM like they do in other parts of the world. I would say one problem that is real, and a danger to our health is the fact that we don't know yet how mixing genes and chromosones from different items will start to interact over time. I think they are using genes from flounder fish in tomatoes now because it makes the tomatoes fight the cold weather better, which I am not necessarily sure is a bad thing anyway, but I am interested to hear the other side of the argument for piece of mind. Also, Corporate farming is putting patents on SEEDS, which means when the seeds from their field travel via wind onto someone elses farm, and their crops naturally mix, the corporations are bringing lawsuits against the farmer and forcing them to shut down. That is not a health issue, but is one fucked up thing to do. I have seen the Penn & Teller episode on GM foods and why they think it is "Bullshit" but at the same time, they seemed more interested in finding the dumbest and youngest fools in the entire march to go after and make look stupid, which is a rather simply tactic to make your own argument look stronger. Not all issues against GM food are health-related, it has a lot to do with corporate farming in general. I have heard a lot of the "who cares, leave GM farming alone, it is fantastic" viewpoint, so I think the other side of the coin deserves to be looked at.

Is Flair even really a heel though? I mean if you ask me he is over because of his legend status, but the gimmick itself is like a clueless, loyal lackey moreso then a traditional heel. Kind of like Stevie Richards in Raven's Nest.

...and some would suggest the spirit of ECW is dead. LOL.

Well yeah that is why I didn't care about holding off on spoilers, since this is a saga that everyone already knows exactly how it goes before they even seen the movie(s). Usually I am not for spoilers though.

Ok, I just looked at all the pics and read all the text, and if it is legit, then I pretty much spoiled the entire movie, however I don't care. If the movie turns out half as good as those spoilers made me feel, Episode III is going to be bloody good.

New documentary about genetically modified food. Check it out......... http://thefutureoffood.com/

Should have avoided him in the draft. That guy was a major waste of a draft pick. And Bledsoe should excel in Dallas. He has a solid pass catching tight end, a quick running back, a strong offensive line, a possession receiver on one side and a speed receiver on the other. Bledsoe with a decent back and a tight end is money. If you are referring to Terry Glenn as a speedster, then you need to realize the only thing he speeds off to is the sideline as he is injury prone, and also tends to dissapear at critical points in the game.

I dig Hassan, but like others have said, the gimmick needs some tweaking. The problem I have is he comes out like he is going to say something insulting to the crowd, but then he stops talking and settles for the cheap heat(USA CHANTS). Considering the issues he brings up are pretty hot-bed issues these days, he could go a lot further in describing the racism and preferrential treatment he sees in the WWE, and expound upon it. Maybe he could go over Benoit next week, yet Benoit still gets a high profile match on the following raw, which sparks Hassan to come out and rant about how even when he wins matches and proves himself, the "racist structure" of the WWE tries to hold him down. My dissapointment is that this gimmick could be so much more then the cheap heat fest it is quickly becoming.

Chris Masters is a product of the fact that WWE/Vince have no competition driving he product anymore, and now Vince can dictate his arousing fantasy of big muscular men, onto the shows. I mean come on, would you ever see a guy like this debuting five years ago, in the middle of a Monday Night War while trying to draw ratings? No F'n way.

"Wonder Years" DVD's possibly in the works
NoCalMike replied to Spaceman Spiff's topic in Television & Film
Wonder Years was awesome, but the show went downhill as Kevin's voice started getting deeper. The Highschool years were lame, and the final few episodes pissed me off to no end. Kevin and Winnie Cooper should have gotten married....THEY SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN MARRIED..... LOL. -
Dunno how the SBVT got into this, but those guys are the ones throwing around silly accusations, thus the burden of proof is on them, obviously.

I don't get all this fake Simpsons hate. Sure the show is not as funny as it's prime years, and granted I miss more then my fair show of modern era episodes, but when I do watch the Simpsons it still manages to be enough to make me laugh, and enough to make me watch it over anything else in the same timeslot. It's not like a show can maintain it's level of comedy for 16 seasons.

"Wonder Years" DVD's possibly in the works

I liked Winnie until she started acting subhuman to Kevin. I mean it seemed like if she was away from him for more then an hour, she would suddenly "meet someone" who just changed her whole way of thinking, and she just had to break it off with Kevin for new said guy, meanwhile Kevin would constantly give up on trying to get with girls in hopes of winning back little miss Cooper. -
the guy also said he only released 10% of the recordings to the public, so you never know what is on the rest. Also, I think the tape exposes Bush's faith as cold, political calculation at the least.

Coles is damaged goods unless he gets his toe fixed. When washington signed Coles in '03 he was unbelievable for about 6-8 games. Then he injured his toe and lost speed, accleration, and the ability to get seperation, and became just another receiver. At the end of the season Coles had the option to get surgery on the toe to get it fixed, but he opted to use rest instead, and predictably the toe injury remained and stayed with him for the entire 2004 season. According to Coles, his doctor told him that with the surgery needed, it is a 50/50 chance he will never be as fast or have the acceleration he once did if he gets the procedure done, that is why he opted for rest instead of surgery. With that being said, if he just chooses not to get the toe fixed he will never be the same WR he was with the Jets and early part of the '03 season with the Skins.

Shane Douglas planning ECW Reunion show
NoCalMike replied to GreatWhiteNope's topic in The WWE Folder
This should be interesting if it actually happens. Of course the question is, will this event be taped, and can they even call it "ECW" since Vince owns all the rights and licensing to "ECW" now......*to be continued* -
Well technically Eastman is the #1 contender, but in today's boxing world that doesn't carry much weight anyway. I have never seen Eastman fight, or at least not that I can remember. Anyone know anything about him? Does he the defense to thrwart Hopkins, or is this going to be easy pickin's ? EDIT: The fight is this saturday on PPV

I don't think Bush's plan will fix Social Security at all, if anything it is the first step into easing the general public into the idea of ENDING social security, which I think the plan by the neocons is anyway, they just don't want to come out say it, because if a substantial amount of people draw funds out of the general pot, there won't be enough to fund the rest of the retirees, in ADDITION to everyone else that draws money out o social security for other various reasons. The entire privitization idea is just another "I got mine, and I don't care if you got yours" mindset, which will be great for the haves, and another hit to the have-nots. If private accounts are introduced, it will draw money out of the funds, thus hurting anyone not wanting to participate and leaving less funds in the overall pot. It isn't really "social security" at all if it is being put into private accounts, becqause the mere idea of "private" accounts is in direct contradiction to the term "social security"

Well I wasn't implying that you liked them, just pointing out that cable news pundits on both sides are, for the most part garbage.

So which show on MSNBC happens to beat CNN & Fox? None. Donahue was the highest rated talk show on the station. If they didn't like him getting beat, then change his timeslot to go up against something else and see if it makes a difference, but to can him, being the only liberal voice on the station, and replace him with yet another "OMG how can you not suppot this war you idiots" voice reeks of idiocy. I assume you've missed Olbermann's show. Donahue was the "only liberal voice"? Yeah. -=Mike I've seen Olberman's show, and it seems more like something that belongs on E! or Comedy Central channel then cable news. It's modern liberalism. He is the route the Dems appear all to ready to take. God knows the whackjob left blogs LOVE that joke of a man. -=Mike As opposed to modern conservatism like Sean Hannity that asks a guest a certain question, then as they are trying to answer, interrupts to ask why they hate freedom three times, and repeat "rape rooms & torture chambers" when the original quesiton is about a guest speaker at a college... Or the excellent debating skills of O'Reily: Shut Up Shut Up Cut his Mic ...NOW.....

Should ANY show really be rewarded for pulling like a 0.02 in the ratings? Well that's no excuse. Well when the replacement is pulling half that, yet stays on the air longer, it kind of makes you wonder the motivation behind the cancellation. I am not trying to claim Donahue's show was the best thing going, but to me out of the pundit shows, he actually had debate on his show and let the guests talk about their issues, rather then just scream back and forth and asking redundant questions.

WTF Dave Meltzer came down to Sacramento for the premiere? For fucks sake, if I would have known I would have drove my ass the 2 miles down the road to the Crest Theater.

I am sure Vince would blame it on Ted Turner...So?
