  1. Gotta support the troops, whether or not you believe in the cause they fight for...My buddy and I argue ever Rembrance Day(also Nov. 11) about my wearing of a poppy. He says its a war monger thing to do. I disagree, citing my year-long hatred of war, but that we should appreciate what was done for us...It's vicariously the same thing when the newscasters fell in line before Iraq. Ermm, I was referring to the drum beat to war, not once the war started. The media was giving Bush a free pass to basically make false claims and mislead america, without offering much resistence to what turned out to be a crock.
  2. Oh yeah I should beat myself about the head for forgetting about Darrell Green.
  3. Another problem with this theory is a guy like Bernard Goldberg and his book about the subject, and the minute someone confronts him on a debate show, picking apart his book piece by piece, Bernard basically retracts and says "well yeah I might have exaggerated, but you understand the point, eh?" The "media is liberal" banter is often reserved for those that want to scream it without debate or having to actually be confronted about facts on the matter.
  4. It isn't the Hall of Stats, it's the Hall of Fame. Anyone who watched football in the 90's knows Irvin is a Hall of Famer. He was straight up dominant. One guy who I think might make it is Ted Washington. Very underrated beast at NT who greatly improved a defense wherever he went. Plus has a SB ring. Uh-huh and you ask Michael Irvin who defined Possesion Receiver in the 80's and he will say Art Monk and has said so many times before. Michael Irvin and Art Monk are similar players, that is why I compared the two. I am not even arguing against Michael Irvin going in, but I am saying with 100% conviction and stats/facts to back it up that if Irvin is a first ballot HOFer, then Monk should have been, and it is a joke that he is not in yet.
  5. If the media is liberal, they sure as hell did one hell of a poor job showing it when it was time to question Bush's drum beat march to war. I don't think I have seen newspeople collectively fall in line and salute any administration like that before. Also, it matters little the title of "journalist" or "commentator" when the general public can't tell the difference between watching footage of Abu Grahb which is actually factual, and coming away thinking "Oh there wasn't any abuse" and watching a story on fox about an ice cream truck being a WMD, which as soon as five minutes later is debunked. Like I said, I don't want to harp on Fox a lot because it screams bias on my part, but I admittingly watch their evening shows moreso then the other networks because I find their hosts watchable if not at the same time vomit-inducing in a weird kind of mix of sweet n sour, and I can tell you as a viewer that they went out of their way on a nightly basis to take on any story about a rock in the sand possibly being a mortar, or a roach coach being the center of the chemical weapon lab database and so on. They absolutely had ZERO shame about taking any bullshit story, and figured if people watched only half the story before it was debunked shortly later, they'd feel we have found the biggest chemical and nuclear weapons cache in the history of the world in Iraq.
  6. Claiming there to be a "liberal media" is so ridiculous and SOOOOO 80's. That argument holds about as much water as a bottomless cup. If anything it is obvious the media is out for corporate interests and money, and into promoting whatever it gets them. If O'Reaily brings in the best ratings, the media elite will do their best to say he is the best thing since slice bread, same with anyone who gets on a roll. I can't honestly think of any mainstream network that is good for getting accurate news anymore. "liberal media" is another in the long line of "if we say it enough, people will believe it" kinds of situations. The fact that anyone buys into is silly. Sure people can name isolated instances where some guy asked said guy a "tougher question" then other guy, during a tv show, but that is hardly grounds for a "LIBERAL MEDIA" rant. The fact of the matter is, in today's network news market, opinion-based salacious BULLSHIT sells better then actual reporting. Of course it was thought of before that people could tell the difference. Clearly they cannot. I remember leading up to the war Fox News would jump on every bit of "OMG a van in Iraq was stopped and searched....I THINK WE FOUND NUKES....SEND IN THE B-52's" piece of crap reporting, and it clearly showed a huge lack of integrity as a network, as they were doing anything and everything possible to seel and promote the drum beat of war, and didn't care if they had to report MALARKY to meet their goal, ya know kind of like what all the conservatives are whining at Dan Rather about.
  7. hubs are basically like a dumb version of routers I think, or maybe it is switches which they are a dumb version of.....oh forget it.
  8. I think Beyonce is pretty, and has a nice voice I suppose. I watched American Idol for the first time last night, and the one thing I agreed with the panel on, is how every contestant(well the ones with a little bit of singing talent) go in there trying to just blow the roof off by putting too much power behind every note, and it sounds like crap. I also find it almost hilarious that the better contestants, when singing a modern song from the radio, often sound just as good as the artists on the radio, yet when they try to get cocky and sign Stevie Wonder or something, they come off lame, because they have no idea how to sing really, they just have a tiny bit of raw talent and try to power their way through a song. It really says something to the argument that singers today are simply that, just vocalists with powerful voices that do nothing but inject as much energy and power into their songs, and come off sounding like banshees, rather then singers. Oh and Cowell at least has blasted the American Idol winners before in an interview, basically saying he would never attend their concerts because the music they made is crap. LOL. He totally also basically said American Idol is just some stupid show where they pick a winner, and has nothing to do with being a real musicians or artist etc.....this was from his mouth.
  9. It is nice to see Bang's flash cartoons getting play all over the net, and even on local DC/Maryland television and national sports radio shows now. He has been doing them for awhile now, but the big press started when he made the cartoons about the Poston brothers(the sports agents) and the way the negotiated for Winslow Jr's contract. They called it racist because the characitures(sp?) but they admitted to laughing when watching as did Winslow. The guy who makes them is a Redskins fan, but he makes them available to everyone. I think you have to register at his site or extremeskins to have access to the Archives. Some of the more well known ones are the Christmas party one, the Mark Brunell QB test one, and the "Michael Vick takes a crap" one.
  10. The fact that Art Monk was not a lock when he retired when he held records for most receptions, consecutive games with a reception, and a few others, is a crime. To think Michael Irvin will be a first ballot HOFer because he has a gig on ESPN, while when you put their career stats side by side, Monk's are superior in every single category, besides number of times caught with drugs and hookers.
  11. Yeah I mean how convenient is it to come up with a "terrorist warning" right before a big opposition is going to be out in full force, with police and law enforcement just itching for a reason to dispearse the gas. This is bad, but not nearly as awful as Ohio declaring a terrorist warning on the election day in order to stop the process of getting the proper provisional ballots.
  12. *Cries a river* I didn't ask you to cry a river for me, rather just pointing out that most of the companies are giving handouts to the Bush administration. I am sure there are a few in the pack just doing it out of kindness, maybe because they have local branches in the area.
  13. Being pro legalization is the reason I do. Libertarians aren't the only ones in favor. I know the Greens, while maybe not in full and 100% support legalization of all drugs, are in fact in favor of at no less the decriminilization.
  14. I wonder if this happens to interfere with the massive protests and marches planned all up and down the east coast!?!
  15. Well this is another one of those "the food forum is gone where does this go?" posts. Anyways, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale IMO, is one of those middle of the pack decent beers that is good for when you have some extra cash, but not quite the cash for Newcastle/Hieneken. Anyways, a guy I know says that The Sierra Nevada Pale Ale's SPRING BREW/MIX/WHATEVER is the best beer they make and that a lot of beer collectors wait for the shipping dates and buy all the shit up because it is that damn good. I figure he is full of shit, but then again, I never see the Spring Ale in the stores, yet the Summer Ale is always packed like a muthafucka well into the fall months. Has anyone ever had the Spring Ale? How was it? For Sierra Nevada I have had the standard green label, the holiday brew, and the summer brew. Honestly, thus far I'd say the original green label tastes the best, with the holiday brew a close second(holiday brew also has a higher % of alcohol).
  16. It was ok. I remember when it was coming out and I had a choice to either see it, or a sneak preview of Harold & Kumar, and lets just say I am glad Without a Paddle was the movie I ended up watching on DVD.
  17. Getting back onto the topic. What is the big deal about Moore's call for a walkout? This isn't some brand new idea or concept, walkouts have happened plenty of times for a plethora of reasons. Oh and all you guys ragging on missing a class, fucking puhleeze, you act azif missing one class is going to make or break something. Jeezus, it is an event that happens once every four years, and if people want to protest, well they have every right to. After the massive marching and protesting in 2000, PRIOR to Bush's four year reign of destruction upon this country, I can only imagine what the hostility will be like this time around. Oh and to think that Moore is behing anything is pretty ludicrous anyway. Walkouts and protest marches etc....were all planned way ahead of Mikey making his special request. But don't worry guys, the "liberal" media will almost surely completely ignore the entire protest in an effort to act like it doesn't exist and that everyone loves the President. Instead I am sure CNN & Fox will be busy "debating" over whether or not Kid Rock should be performing at the party. I love the corporate news~!
  18. I just love the ol' "harmless private donations" argument. I seriously doubt with all my heart that this funding is actually "donations"
  19. Well, again, there's little to prove that anything near the extent he talked about actually occurred. I'm sure he heared some of it, but the whole "Thousands" and "Daily Basis" are horrible mistruths. And to note, of the 'many' brave soldiers, there were high-profile soldiers who had never served and were just acting for the Peace Movement (I believe in the same hearings that Kerry was apart of). Who is to say they were "mistruths" according to what documents or NEWS source? All you have done is called Kerry a liar over and over again, but shown little if nothing to back it up other then "well he is worse liar then SVBT" Also, I am not just referring to soldiers that testified besides Kerry, rather the many that were talking about these issues before Kerry even came back. This was no "John Kerry's revolution" as the SVBT would like to paint it. Kerry was one of many, and I am sorry that you don't like it, but if you are soldier and you have witnessed atrocities, it is beyond brave and courageous to come home and speak out against wrong doings and such horrible things going on during war. I don't care if they weren't on the level of "Ghengis Kahn"
  20. Which reply in this thread gave you the impression that anyone was excited?
  21. What did Kane just do? I was late coming back into the room and just managed to see Kane backpeddling up the ramp as Raw faded to commercial break......
  22. Actually I think they were going to go with Pacquiao-Marquez II. Marquez wanted double what they where offering him, so we get Pacquiao-Morales instead which is more of a money match anyway. I'm almost certain MAB-Pac II will be in the cards up if Pacquiao beats Morales. Marquez will be in the mix again eventually. Maybe they should put on Barrera/Marquez in the meantime. Oh and Where is that punk-ass Naseem Hamed these days? Did he officially retire or is he still just hiding out?
  23. I also don't get this sentiment by the SVBT like Kerry "let the dirty secrets out of the bag" or if he acted alone on coming out to talk about atrocities. Kerry was one of many brave soldiers that returned from war to talk about what exactly was taking place over there. Kerry, was taking information largely collected and told to him by other Vets.
  24. I am going to go out on a limb and say, he will get the biggest pops, but will make at the most a .2 difference in the ratings. I don't see Austin making that big of a difference in today's ClimaHHHte on Raw. It will be fun to see him back for awhile, though. Of course chances are if his return is anything like last time, it will get old in about two weeks. Would be nice to get some backstage reports though of HHH feeling uneasy. LOL.
  25. Well after Hassan's segment on the Jericho show tonight(forgot what it is called) it is further proof that there is no "brains" behind this gimmick, and they have collectively decided that cheap heat is the way to go.
