Agreed. I suprisingly spend little to NO time on the weekends doing homework/schoolwork which shocks me sort of considering going in, I figured I would be doing school work all the damn time on my free time. Of course being in the certification prep class now, that will change, at least for this term as it is a LOT of memorization dammit..... Oh and my PS2 is collecting some dust...lol.

It still remains to be seen if for example CA passed gay marriage, and then the FMA was also somehow passed, how the Federal Government would act. The language in the FMA, seems pretty clear to me with the "only" to where even if a state tried to change it/expand it, the feds could come in and claim that the FMA trumps state law, the same way they are always bugging CA about medicinal marijuana.

"But fact was just gearing up for round two. The President needed more words, strong words..." Heh. I didn't see that. Something I noticed over the few days but didn't want to say anything due to fear of starting a ruckus was that there were white people EVERYWHERE, but only a couple minorities in every other crowd*. This convention also brought back memories of the old Dem conventions where the soccer moms and Hillary wannabes were trying to dance the Macarena. All the 70s rock and funk and dance that occasionally played between state roll calls and whatnot were often filled with shots of people trying to get down and boogie and making fools of themselves. (*not saying the GOP is racist or whites-only, just saying what I saw at the show.) Well to expand what you are saying, it is just hilarious to see at BOTH conventions all these delegates that are so far removed from your average citizen as far as blind support for their respective candidates go. The camera shots of people "in awe" of the candidate saying something as simple as, "America is strong" Oh and the dancing, yes the dancing.......LOL.

So what was Bush getting at regarding......
NoCalMike replied to NoCalMike's topic in Current Events
Yeah, I know, I thought it was real vague too until it was all explained in detail like that. I don't even get the "CONFUSING" part of taxes, unless you own your own small business and have to deal with saving every single receipt for write-offs and stuff.......but for your average citizen, you just write down how much is on yer W-2, and then add a number or two, and you are done...... "fairer" why do I see the opposite in that.....LOL. "pro-growth" must mean, give the corporations back more money so they can expand overseas a few years ahead of time....... -
JBL was just on MSNBC.....so I guess that is who they were referring to. I was so hoping it would be Mick.
-
I find it suspect that he didn't really get into any detail whatsoever besides saying, "pro-growth" which with conservatives usually leans towards somehow trying to find another way to shrink the tax burden on the upper clas in some way. "Simplifying the tax system" By gawd, this better not mean he is going to propose anything as assanine as a flat tax. Anyone have any clue what the guy was talking about?
-
Ronnie Reagan just said that a wrestler is going to be on the Post show on MSNBC, and they also said Triumph the Insult Dog is coming up........LOL.

To be fair, the A's can't beat any of those three teams in the playoffs. well hell, when the umpire awards the runner home plate, and then changes his mind 30 seconds later because the runner did run fast enough for his liking, it make sit kind of difficult to win.......

I wish Sam Sedar would be invited onto more shows without being FORCED to bring Garaffalo along due to her name recognition.
-
Garaffalo and Sedar on the convention after hours on MSNBC.......this should be interesting.
-
I wish Kerry would have used these same talking points at the convention. He worked in his time in the military without going over the top. He actually went after the failed Bush policies. I think Kerry was baited into playing "nice" at his convention, and the republicans turned around and went into full-on attack mode. Hopefully that was the only wake-up call Kerry needed.
-
and one by one, the networks cut off the speech.......damn liberal media
-
Wow, Kerry decided to grow a set.................. FINALLY.
-
ermm.....I dunno about "Simply the Best" for an intro song.......but oh well here goes.....
-
Ok Edwards about to introduce Kerry......dammit Kerry you better say something relevent.....
-
Whoa Kerry/Edwards rebuttal started early......
-
well, Kerry will be rebutting in about 30mins
-
Bad mouthing Kerry for proposing spending, while he himself has been one of the bigger spenders EVER is kind of ironic.
-
I actually thought the FLUFF parts of the speech were pretty decent, however whenever he talked about POLICY, it was pretty much crap. Sounds like to me he wants to spend just as much, yet cut taxes again. Seemed like he went out his way to tell corporate america that they won't have to ever pay taxes anymore. And is it me or was he already trying to subtly suggest we will be invading more countries in the near future.
-
Ok the intro Bush video is coming on now.....with the speech to follow.......here we go........ Kerry is going to have a rebuttal at 12:00am eastern time tonight, and he has a chance to speak the fuck up for once and COUNTER some points that were pressed during the RNC........God Forbid he makes this about him serving and Bush/Cheney not...... Alrighty then........be back after the speech.

Yeah I felt sorry for Vanessa to until she suddenly wasn't mad at Kobe anymore after the new car and diamond ring and then decided to be by his side.....
-
I dunno, at first I didn't believe Kobe did it, and really I still don't think he RAPED her, although I tend to think SOMETHING lesser could have possibly happened, like possibly sexual assault or battery. Something feels awfully fishy to me about the way Kobe's lawyers conducted themselves. First they deliberately leaked her name three seperate times, and went unpunished for it, and now there are reports that the whole, "she had sex 3 days later" stories were complete bullshit, and purposely leaked to the public to break the defendent down emotionally. It was executed almost perfectly. If the girl wasn't an emotional wreck beforehand, she sure SHOULD BE now. If the chick honestly felt she was raped, then I agree she should have stuck with it, but don't think for one moment that she has not gone through a living hell the past year, complete with death threats and public scrutiny, whether she is a liar or not. If she IS liar, then well she deserves all this tenfold, but what if she is telling the truth.......what if this is another case of a celebrity getting off.

are we talking about Street Fighter II here?
