Or octopi. Even better
-
I'll argue if i wanna!
-
Who said I was complaining?
-
Somehow I've been involved in some damn funny promos without actually knowing about it ahead of time. Oh, and JJ is still helping train guys in Cleveland between his UFC training. Yeah, that's it.
-
How does the octopus have the advantage if the match is on land? Octopuses are usually water-based, aren't they?
-
I've had a tendency to just skim through shows as of late, but Jimmy vs. an Octopus might just be worth reading. My money's on the octopus to sit on the ref.

A few comments for Bruce's feedback (which is much appreciated). Yes. Maybe I over-explained it. Maybe I should have used "modified" Victory roll, but the implication is that the person using it dropped down out of the German and did a forward roll. So you're technically right.

The Super Sunday match with Bockwinkel makes this a must-have set.

Likely Sid Vicious, and...Paul E?the guy was Barry Windham – the manager? I’m stumped but not Paul E as he was in ECW round this time Ha-HA! It wasn't just two. Angle-wise, THREE men were under the Mr. Wrestling III mask. "Bullet" Bob Armstrong, BG James, and Vince Russo were all revealed to be Mr. Wrestling III. HA-ha part deux! Nikita Koloff wore the mask too at some point The manager was Col. Robert Parker.

Oh please, no WAY the one that you wend to is the Worst Thunder Ever. Unless you went to the one where David Arquette won the World Title, then you can't have that claim. Fortunately for me, I never went to a late WCW event. ...unfortunately for me, I never went to ANY WCW event. Stupid non-liking wrestling Parents. At least the Thunder where Arquette won the title came off OK on TV until the main event. I have the May 21, 1998 Thunder from Cleveland on tape somewhere, only saw it once to see how it came off on TV, and it was just as bad on tape as it was in person. A shame too, considering the house show I went to in Youngstown the night before was decent despite not having any big names.

Non-title. Savage was champion and lost to The Giant by DQ in about 30 seconds that night.

Jerry Lawler vs. Hulk Hogan (February 9, 1981) Stumbled onto this last night. Which this was actually set up to be downloaded to the hard drive, but worth a watch

Anybody else remember him hosting the weekly B-horror flick on TBS back in the late-80s?
-
Yeah, sorry about that; Jay indicated to me that he might not be able to get something in for the show, but I can't write promos for shit, and couldn't come up with anything. Yeah. My phone company has gotten into the habit of sending me disconnection notices before the bills. So my net access this week was largely at work on breaks, and I'm not technically supposed to use work computers for fantasy wrestling. We're working on it though.
-
You know, I'll admit to already having a match lined up for From the Fire but haven't had steady net access this week to ask for it. Damn Sprint. But still, I'd like to get a card up since I'm sure Arch would like to work on a plan here.

Bret-Austin Survivor Series 96 > Bret-Austin WrestleMania 13. The latter might be the most historic, but the former is the better wrestling match. Both are definitely top 10 material though
-
I think it had something to do with HBK not wanting to drop the title to Vader at Survivor Series, so they switched him with Sid. Vader was supposed to get the title at Series, and that's why the Dec. 96 IYH was nicknamed It's Time. Vader injured his foot/ankle around the time of Buried Alive, so I think there were concerns he wouldn't be able to compete at Survivor Series.

The hospital that kept Andy Kaufman overnight after the Jerry Lawler piledriver must be pissed by now! -
1) Who are you, and what have you done this year? I'm Jay Hawke, and I've held the International Title longer than most people keep girlfriends. 2) What do you think of CC and their work at this time? Good for the most part, although they do have a tendency to forget what the storylines entail on occasional. 3) What do you think this fed's strongest suit is? We have great writers who have a terrific sense of how to script a wrestling match, plus we have some guys who take great pride in a job well done. 4) What do you think this fed's weakest suit is? Too many people take this stuff too seriously. Hell, I'm proud of the International Title reign, but considering how many matches as I've lost during the reign, I'd be a fool to be upset when I do finally lose it. 5) Do you have any suggestions for changes in how things are run? The show should become The Jay Hawke Show with everybody doing their promos about me, whether I'm in a program with them or not. Sorry, Dusty Rhodes/Midnight Rider moment there. 6) Overall, do you like the direction the fed is headed in? Yep. Much more competition than there was when I first joined this time last year.

ELM's going to break his own record for longest World Title reign. Maybe only by a couple of days, but he's gonna do it.

WHOO HOO! Something else to add to the sig! -
I'd be happy to work with someone else in these discussions. I didn't think it was bad for a first try though.

I don't remember Bill Watts ever banning a piledriver. You're thinking Memphis and how it was a Tennessee state law to ban the piledriver.
-
Cruiserweight Rules: 20-count on the floor. Throwing an opponent over the top rope is an automatic DQ. Did I miss anything?
