Karnage Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 I was watching UHF again today and just remembered again how great Michael Richards was in that movie. He should of won an Oscar or something. Who do you all think had an awesome comedic performance in a movie and what movie was it?
Youth N Asia Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Jason Lee in Mallrats...that's pretty much a favorite around here. And Stifler in American Pie 2.
CanadianChris Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Bill Murray in Quick Change. One of his best performances in a very underrated movie.
Guest El Satanico Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Gene Wilder...nearly every comedy he's been in For being an actor you don't expect to be funny, Johnny Depp in some movies is quite funny.
the max Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Bill Murray in Quick Change. One of his best performances in a very underrated movie. ^^^^^^ Quaid was great in that movie too. "Please God! We need a cab! One LOUSY FUCKING cab!"
Guest Choken One Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Brad Pitt can shock you with his Comic talent.
Vern Gagne Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Ted Knight in Caddyshack. Plays the straight man so well in that movie. Should of received a best supporting actor nomination at the Oscars.
Mik Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Owen Wilson - Bottle Rocket and Shanghai Noon...Hell throw in Zoolander too.
Insane Bump Machine Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Ryan O'Neal in What's up, Doc?
Nighthawk Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 I'm a Bill Murray fan, and if I had to pick one of his performances, it'd be What About Bob?, although it could easily be the brilliance of Ghostbusters, the range of Groundhog Day, or the subtlety of Rushmore.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 I can't remember the guy's name, but the first time I saw Dr. Strangelove, General Ripper had me rolling with his insanity. When he explained his communist conspiracies..oh man. One of the funniest characters ever.
Mecha Mummy Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Seth Green in Italian Job. The movie sucked but Green was absolute gold.
iliketurtles Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Since there's so many excellence performances out there, I'll just go with the most recent one: Bernie Mac in Head of State. I was dying. And Will Ferrel in Old School..
ArkhamGlobe Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 I can't remember the guy's name, but the first time I saw Dr. Strangelove, General Ripper had me rolling with his insanity. When he explained his communist conspiracies..oh man. One of the funniest characters ever. That's Sterling Hayden, and it's quite the hilarious performance indeed. Hell, the whole movie is full of them, be it from Peter Sellers, George C Scott or whomever.
{''({o..o})''} Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 John Reynolds as Torgo in Manos: The Hands of Fate. His performance is so awful it becomes comedy. Sadly we never got to see the full range of this brilliant actor because he commited suicide along with two other cast members.
Guest BAR Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Christopher Guest and Michael McKean in 'This is Spinal Tap'. John Goodman in 'The Big Lebowski'.
eiker_ir Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Woody Harrelson in Kingpin, most people say Murray is great in this(and he is) but Woody is algo great here, Quaid too...Hell the entire cast of this movie. **just got Kingpin on DVD**
Boner Kawanger Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Murray should get mentioned for Kingpin on the merit of improvising that whole commercial. You know the one.
Mole Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 He improvised the whole thing? Damn, that's funny. Eugene Levy in American Pie.
Anorak Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Robert De Niro in 'King Of Comedy' Alec Guiness in 'The Ladykillers' Richard E Grant in 'Withnail & I'
Youth N Asia Posted August 26, 2003 Report Posted August 26, 2003 Jack Black in HIgh Fidelity...just great
Guest two_tuff_toddy Posted August 26, 2003 Report Posted August 26, 2003 I would have to say Farley in Black Sheep and Belushi in Animal House.
NoCalMike Posted August 26, 2003 Report Posted August 26, 2003 Entire cast of COMING TO AMERICA. Arsenio Hall was damn impressive. Brad Pitt's stoner character in True Romance was pure genious and it was revealed a lot of his lines, he improvised.
Guest Harry Hood Posted August 26, 2003 Report Posted August 26, 2003 as mentioned, george c. scott in dr. strangelove. Gentlemen, you can't fight in here. This is the War room. just reading that line makes me snicker.
Guest NCJ Posted August 26, 2003 Report Posted August 26, 2003 The Sheriff and Gene Wilder from Blazing Saddles Dave Chapelle in Half-Baked Eddie Murphy Coming to America and Trading Places along with Dan Akroyd Randall from Clerks Bill Murray Ghostbusters
Guest El Satanico Posted August 26, 2003 Report Posted August 26, 2003 The Sheriff and Gene Wilder from Blazing Saddles The Sheriff's a nigger! The Sheriff is near? Nooo I SAID the sheriff is a nigger!
