Ced 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2003 All-you-can-eat sushi. Almost always a bit pricey at dinner, but I'm all over it whenever I get the cash. I'm really partial to this local restaurant in the next town over from me and Kokopelli's in Reno and their oh-so-tasty Baby Gecko rolls. The local Indian Casino offers a real cheap all-you-can-eat buffet between midnight and 6 am which is a godsend for nightowls such as myself. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I like Mongolian bbq as well. I haven't eaten at an all-you-can-eat sushi bar yet. I want to though. Ced, what are some in the Sacramento/Roseville area? Pizza Buffets are always good. Sometimes when you show up at the right time and are the only ones there, they pizza place guys will make you any type of specific pizza you want down to the T. Instead of making the vague style pizzas that work best for the masses. It pretty much tastes the same at all of them. Some have bigger selection, but other than that not much of a difference. At some you can get crab legs during dinner buffet. I'd kill for a mexican or good BBQ buffet. I can't stand home cooking style buffets. They all have that nasty instant powered mashed potatoes and macaroni. All of the food there except stuff like roast beef and ham is cheap and watered down tasting. BBQ from places like this is blasphemy to real BBQ. Trip 2: Soups (chicken noodle and clam chowder) and chili. Trip 3: Fried and roasted chicken, potroast, shrimp. Trip 4: Steak, mashed potatoes, corn. Trip 5: Banana pudding and maybe another item. The sushi rice will get to you after a few rolls, but if you stick to just the fish, you be eating some serious amounts of protein. China Buffet Kings in Toronto rule all. Not only do they have the Chinese-American stuff, but they've got a good helping of more traditional Chinese dishes, Peking Duck, sushi, dim sum (at lunch) AND hot pot. I prefer the term "wiry" over "scrawny" thank you) I'm screwed. My friends and I try to save a few bucks every month so we can go there and just eat 'til we're in that "Shit, am I going to roll home...?" stage. Besides, they have really good sushi rolls AND crab legs. I'm not a huge fan of crab legs but the jokes a group of perverted 14 year olds (aren't we all perverts though) are nearly infinite. There are a few homestyle ones, "Cactus Willies" and "Old Country Buffet" which are decent. They've got the "shoe leather" steaks. Not bad on the chicken and sides though. The we've got, "Shady Maple", which is around 25 bucks a head, but they've got steaks, prime rib, chicken, wings, pork, fish and anything you can think of. I love Breakfast Buffet's in AC.. Tropicana's is the absolute best! Not to mention Noble/Nidia did a vignette there once.. Whenever I do a night trip to AC, I'm always so tempted to grab a nap in my car at about 4 am and then go get breakfast at 8, just for the buffet goodness. C2's buffet is infamous for being just plain bad. Get yourself to Mirage for a good buffet, Mandalay Bay for a pricey buffet, or Bellagio for an expensive but superamazing buffet (roast duck and crab, anyone?) Firestarter 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2003 On the whole I prefer a la carte because I feel that if I'm going to pay for food someone had better wait on me hand and foot and cater to my every whim, goddamnit. About the only time I can stand buffets is in the morning, and even then only if there are like two or three people at most up there. Also, breakfast dishes tend to be lighter so it's possible for me to sample several without stuffing myself so full I can barely move. I find that Thai or Chinese food tends to work best for this, especially the tiny bits of super-crispy ginger chicken mixed with flat rice noodles and basil leaves that we had once in some hotel a couple of hours outside Bangkok. Can't remember the name, though. I'll look it up later because I'm sure you're all terribly interested and it'll make a huge difference in your lives. You're welcome.
