I've really been feelin' Morbid Angel lately, moreso than I normally do. Mike Patton in some form has been in my cd player, too.

I really fucking hate that "Drift Away" song by Uncle Cracker. It honestly makes me angry it's so bad, and I get to hear it twice a night if the radio at work is on a certain station. It makes me want to decapitate that fat untalented fuck with the edge of a shovel, and watch his corpse drift away in the reservoir.

Don't cry, Game, I've studied your taste in men judging from your comments on the board, and I think I've found the perfect studmuffin for you.

Now, you can do what you wish with Mr. Brawny, but Kracker is taking a fuckin' dirt nap.

I really wanted to hate this song but I can't help listening to it when I hear it. The Ataris' cover of "Boys of Summer." Stupid song is catchy...

Jesus fucking Christ on a bike. An Actual Uncle Kracker......fan. I thought you types had been culled by the government.

As I've said several million times I listen to Sparks more than anything at the moment. As for current artists,

I likes

Melvins

Tomahawk (the first album was better though)

The Streets

Roots Manuva (Probably my favourite hip-hop artist, don't know if he's made it to the US yet)

The Darkness

Frank Black and the Catholics

Dillinger Escape Plan

Rocket From The Crypt

Justin Timberlake (just the first three singles really)

British Sea Power

and pretty much don't give a shit about/hate everything else. I'm sure there's a lot more that I like, but those are ones I really dig. And of course Sparks, Tom Waits and Residents are still releasing material. I will name the absolute biggest offenders, the ones who I think should be imprisoned/fined.

The Thrills

The Red Hot Chilli Peppers

Coldplay

U2

Kings of Leon

Athlete

Deftones (just because they are so much more overrated than the rest of 'those' bands, and nothing dissimilar)

Finch

Staind

Alien Ant Farm

A

Incubus

and anything that resembles emo in any way, shape or form. It's on the same plain as child abuse.

50 Cent: He's marble mouthed and has repetitive beats.

I feel the exact same right about Chingy's "Right Thurr". I know it's a dumb song. I know Chingy isn't the best rapper in the world. I know Chingy's no different from any of the other terrible rappers on mainstream radio today (50 SUCK!!!). And I know the "Chicken Dance" is one of the worst dances in the history of music. But DAMN! That song is really catchy! I'm actually alittle ashamed I like that song considering how much I hate these "Dirty South" rappers with their dumb pronounceations. Oh, and how much I hate Nelly, Ja Rule, 50 Suck, and P.Diddy. Ludacris, Busta Rhymes, Outkast, Talib Kweli, Eminem, The Neptunes, and Jay-Z are the current rappers I like.

And of course, you probalby know by now how much I love Public Enemy who just released a new album that is getting absolutely NO AIRPLAY on MTV or mainstream radio at all. Meanwhile, MTV and mainstream radio shove 50 Suck down our throat. Great idea, guys. Excellent one *sticks middle finger out*.

Well, nothing is particularly driving me up the wall right now, but yeah, you pretty muched nailed all five guesses. Funnily enough though, I was just mixing up a song last night that had parts of "I Will Always Love You" in it.

The only new things that I like right now are Rancid and the Streets. I dug the new Radiohead and the new Roots, but I got so burnt on them so quickly, I don't even keep them on when I hear them on the radio now.

Older things that I've been digging a lot lately:

Stereolab

Widespread Panic

Monster Magnet

Things that I dislike:

Too many to count ... virtually everything on the radio/MTV/etc. I just can't stomach modern music right now.

Another thing i hate:

When you download a song and it has a DJ screaming over the song at random times. The song is unlistenable.

I just don't get how the artists I like the most get the least airplay on mainstream radio/MTV.

It most likely means you have taste.

Radio and MTV dictate what music is popular. It's not a matter of what music is actually good; it's how much money music execs are willing to shell out to the media to ensure that their acts get the most exposure. That's why you have a glut of bands/singers/sideshow freaks with similar sounds and grooves clogging the airwaves, and why bands with truly unique stylings or actual talent get pushed to the fringes.

Be happy the stuff you like doesn't get much play... that usually leads to overplay.
