Guilty Pleasures

Recommended Posts

I'm almost sure that this has been done before, but I'm going to start a thread on it anyway.

So what's your musical guilty pleasure?

Mine would have to be Status Quo. Being generally into Morrissey type jingly jangly indie rubbish and pretentious (spelling?) prog rock the Quo aren't I band I should like, but God they're great. I saw them on Sunday night and it was (apart from Morrissey) the best gig I've been at.

I will take the shame of Quo to my grave :headbang:

I listen to almost anything, I've got tons of guilty pleasures. From Britney Spears to N'sync to Six Feet Under to The Hives to Necro to Ludacris.

Six Feet Under is one of my metal guilty pleasures.

Currently my guiltiest of pleasures is Duran Duran's cover album.

Timberlake, as well.

How about Michelle Branch? In a sober mind, I can't grasp how anyone could enjoy that shite.

Various Jpop artists.

Oh, and 80s new wave.

And my friend seems to think I should include my love of Depeche Mode, but I think that's pushing things a bit. I don't feel guilt over loving Mode.

Cheesy Steve Perry era Journey.

Feh. No shame in that.

Me, I just stuck three Bruce Hornsby songs on a mix CD.

Hanson.

Seriously.

I think I trumped all of you. Even all you Top 40 listeners out there. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

(P.S. Nothing wrong with being a Depeche Mode fan. '80s New Wave and Brit Pop paved the way for all the kick ass music of the early- to mid-'90s.

Depeche Mode rules all.

There's nothing wrong with Depeche Mode whatsoever...or any New Wave shit....or any 80's music for that matter.

And Phil Collins is my biggest guilty pleasure, and everyone agrees. Remember the thread were I asked which "In Too Deep" song was better between his and Sum 41? Phil won in a landslide.

The Lords of Acid.

Songs about bondage and bestiality I dig for some strange reason.

Nothing wrong with that, Lords of Acid are gods.

By the way, if you like Lords of Acid, try listening to Peaches.

:headbang: I'm glad I don't have to feel like some kind of queer saying I like the Lords.

How could you not like Lords of Acid? Especially with lyrics like:

Darling come here

Fuck me up the...

and

I wanna sit on your face

Gorillas

If you mean Gorillaz with a z, nothing wrong with that, that's a smart concept with some really skilled guys involved. If you do mean Gorillas with an s, eh, never listened to them.
