Steve J. Rogers 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2003 "When I was just a baby My Momma told me 'Son Always be a good boy Don't ever play with guns' But I shot a man in Reno Just to watch him die..." -Johnny Cash "Folsom Prison Blues" Cash once said he was thinking of the worse act a man could do to another as a reason for the singer to be in prison, and that was it. Just about ever word to "You've Never Been This Far Before" by Conway Twitty is classic "I don't know what I'm saying as my trembling fingers touch forbidden places...bum bump buah..." "I don't know and I don't care what made you tell him you don't love him any more" "And you're wondering if tommorow I'll still love ya like I'm loving ya tonight. Huh huh huh! It has no way of knowing but tonight will make me love you more. And I hope that you'll believe me, cause I know you never been this far before." Another good Twitty line thats spoken, not sung: "I really thought that I loved you..." from "The Phone Song" Back to The Man In Black, probably the entire song "Man In Black"

Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted November 22, 2003 "The heart pumps, until it dies Drain the blood, the heart is wise" -Drain the Blood The Distillers. No particular reason for the liking the line, I just love it. Very good line, The Distillers lyrics alone seperate them from most so called "punk" bands, although I prefer most of the stuff off of Sing Sing Death House. But yes, I of course am going with Patton related groups and Faith No More's The Real Thing has by far my most favorite lyrics ever and to pick one line would be nearly impossible but I'll go with... "Like the echoes of your childhood laughter, ever after Like the first time love urged you to take it's guidance, in silence Like your heartbeat when you realize you're dying, but you're tryin Like the way you cry for a happy ending, ending..." Whole song is just amazingly well written and probably the only song to nail what life is on every level IMO.

I'm glad I didn't know The way it would end the way it would go Our lives Their better left to chance I could have missed the pain But I'd have to miss the dance" Wow do I hate that song. My ex told me to listen to it after we broke up, and wow did it hurt. BTW, BPS and UYI, if only we could hear that song on a fuckin album. As a single it could be a new "Sweet Child Of Mine". Anyways, here's two more "I knew the storm was getting closer And all my friends said I was high But everything we've ever known's here I never wanted it to die" Guns N Roses "Estranged" "No one needs the sorrow No one needs the pain I hate to see you Walking out there Out in the rain So don't chastise me Or think I mean you harm Like those who take you Leave you strung out Much too far baby, yeah Don't ever leave me Say you'll always be there All I ever wanted, was for you To know that I care" Guns N Roses "Rocket Queen
